What would you tell your 18yo self?
JayClay replied to Sparktrader's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
There wouldn't be much point in telling my 18yo self anything. He wouldn't listen! -
Why did you marry? And maybe why did you do it again?
JayClay replied to OneMoreFarang's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
You haven't actually made a single argument. Why is it "the right thing to do", and how does not marrying constitute "taking advantage of being in a one sided relationship"? That's not been my experience. -

People change. It's a fact of life. There's no guarantee that you will both change along the same path so there's no guarantee you will both feel the same way about each other forever. None. The issue with being married is that you have to go through the break-up process twice, as at some point you need to get divorced. That doesn't particularly appeal to me. -
Maybe there's people who wouldn't want to live anywhere near somebody who looks like you? But, then, they'd be pretty shallow people to judge you just on your appearance, and most people, in turn probably wouldn't want to live near such people. I can't see anything wrong with the way he looks.

Maybe he has more disposable income than you?

Ahhh there's nothing more satisfying than watching people geek out over technology; where everyone thinks they know better than everyone else. For what it's worth I agree with people who think the OP is misguided but the only way to find out for sure is to ask the very simple question: OP, why do you want the product on CD rather than as a download?

I'm not really sure who the ignorant one is here. How many times do you see a 7/11 understaffed for a prolonged period of time? Sure, the turnover is high and there might be the odd day when they're running slightly under capacity, but the fact is that most jobs in 7/11 are filled pretty quickly. I also heard that there's an educational entry level that staff need to satisfy before being eligible to work there. I'm not sure if that is true, but if it is then it instantly excludes the majority of sex/rice workers. But even if the qualifications requirements is not true, if all the sexy rice girls decided at once that they had had enough and were going to find work in 7/11, Lotus'ss'sz, Family Mart or wherever, do you honestly believe there'd be enough work for all of them? How about half of them? 10%? 1...? The only other real jobs available to people in these situations, unless they know somebody with influence, are manual labor/factory work. And, again, there's not nearly enough of such work to go around should a significant number of candidates suddenly emerge.

I'll try and avoid suggestions that have already been made. Sorry if I accidentally repeat somebody else's suggestions; Write a book, read a book, learn website or software development, take up surfing, windsurfing, parasailing, paragliding, paramotoer, skydiving, start a small lifestyle business, buy and sell online, smoke weed, learn a craft, study a topic that's always been of interest to you, learn how to play a musical instrument, learn how to cook or improve your cooking skills, build something, design something, become a food critic, become an activist for a cause you strongly believe in, volunteer to help others less fortunate than yourself, find religion, debunk religion, go for a swim, take up snorkeling, take up diving, take up smoking, give up smoking. That's about all I can think of from the top of my head.

In the case of food poisoning (and only this case) I'd argue that the defamation laws are spot on, as the general public are woefully undereducated in how it works and how long it generally takes for food posing to actually take effect. In this case it appears the claims may be justified, as there appears to have happened to many people who all seemed to be eating on an "all-inclusive" package. So, as long as none of the guests were running a "quick uncooked moo ping" enterprise, it looks like it's unlikely that anything external could have caused the outbreak.

Every bank's terms and conditions are different, an each one has a multitude of ATM card options ????♂️. Some will give you one free withdrawal from another bank. Some will give you none. Some will give you as many withdrawals from as many banks in as many provinces as you like. Generally, the more perks, the higher annual fee you pay.

Thawing UK Frozen Pensions
JayClay replied to hotandsticky's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Lucky you. I'm severely doubt, however, that most people who are worried about frozen pensions have the same luxury of being able to wait it out for a few years until either the courts resolve the situation, or they die. -
Thawing UK Frozen Pensions
JayClay replied to hotandsticky's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Doesn't really work when the person threatening you is the person issuing your pension payments. It would surely be on you to take them to court to get the correct amount reinstated. In the meantime SOL. -
I've never used Windows drive extender so this is only guesswork. You say that all the files show on one drive even if they're not actually physically on the drive. Have you tried plugging *both* drives in at the same time? Maybe if they're both plugged in Windows will know where to look for the "missing" data.

Are Visa runs possible as they once were
JayClay replied to AlaskaDave's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
No... Your wording in your original post is actually very unclear. As, in fact is the "clarification" in this post. You keep talking about getting 3 separate visas. If you have a METV that is one visa(not 3!), that you intend to use to enter the country 3 times, obtaining a 60-day permission to stay on each occasion.
