I didn't assume how you came to your conclusion - I noted Trump's similar approach is all. That Trump could be perceived as a poor candidate for his range of moral, ethical, and intellectual limitations and he attempts to bring all down to his level. An example is his need to denigrate all and sundry - and suggest for example that dictator's such as Putin are no worse than some American politicians. You seem to have concluded that all politicians are inherently bad - an odd and highly cynical conclusion - I was suggesting such a belief is consistent with Trump's take on things. I think you are falling for Trumps trick where he indicates all politicians are pathetic slime - in your words - so he's no worse than the others. But consider that all politicians are not all pathetic slime - but get some good things done - accept election results - are normal imperfect people. You don't accept Trump is different. Fair enough.

People look at a candidate differently when the opposition changes. Instead of looking at 2 older men acting a bit strange in their own ways they see a pretty relateable woman compared to this old lying self aggrandising guy and his second in charge making judgements on people that he isn't in a position to make.. and it reminds them how weird those two are compared to people in their normal lives. Yes it has become a cliche catchphrase quickly but calling it a cult is over the top.

Don't know Tim Walz much. I think she needs to pick a strong male role model. I have a theory that Hillary picking someone too nice and affable - as Tim Kaine was - may have hurt her or at least not helped. Some likely struggle picking a woman but it may be more difficult if there is not a strong male back up. A theory.
