  1. just for 30 days sufficient. if you are going to travel to thailand often, do get covid policy for 1 year from 4200b. There is possibility, that covid insurance requirement will stay even after 1st July (supposed full opening). Buying for a year is cheaper, than buying per month. That cheapest insurance needs 14 days to be activated. But once activated it's multiple entry and from the day of entry.
  2. thailand doesnt specify for how long vax certificates are valid. I don't think anywhere is the world there is any attention to it anymore.
  3. that were exact statements from the government officials - from 1st May entry pcr replaced by atk. First they wanted to do in the airports, later on realised that BKK won't be able do so and wanted atk to be done at hotels and hospitals still with AQ bookings. This dilemma pushed them to scrap atk. That was not planned in 4 stages program leading to full opening
  4. in today's AlJazeera documentary he implicates deputy prime minister Prawit Wongsuwan, police general Surachate Hakparn "Big Joke", minister of justice police general Paiboon Koomchaya, Chakthip Chaijinda Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police from 2015 to 2020, in threatening him to stop investigating military generals, as it might lead to implicating the very top of military junta. He was able to discover just a tip of an iceberg. Watch from minute 11 of this video https://www.aljazeera.com/program/101-east/2022/4/21/thailands-fearless-cop
  5. he is "has been", not an active politician, so not a rat jumping the ship before elections. But being senior in the democrat party for so long, it's interesting to know, if he knew about Prinn sexual antics within party and beyond party. I have a hint, that he knew well all along, as many other seniors within their party. And thats why he resigned now. There would be internal party investigation, already with 2 special teams working on the issue. By resigning now he has less chance on influencing them. Looks like he was on the outskirts of party for sometimes, opposing close links with the ruling party, and as far as quitting governmental coalition a year ago. He was on a way out of the party for sometimes. When quitting he should reveal what he knows about the scandal
  6. the cheapest AQ hotels on agoda are from 3300b (or from 3900b if booking directly with hotels), that's for single and double/triple would be cheaper per person. That includes pcr test (some 2000b) and transport from the airport. Yes, it applies also to thai. That set up is already since July 2020, since thailand opened borders, so you should not be shocked that much. At that time there was 14 nights quarantine and 3 pcr tests, with totals from 30k. Still, people do travel, because they have to
  7. for May entry you can register only from 29.4. So you have at least 48h to be approved. They would speed up issuing TP, as no need to check for hotel booking (some hotels were slow in replying to TP queries). Don't rush for entry at the very beginning of May, probably there would be many applying at the same time, clogging the system
  8. yes, fwd is good for TP. bear in mind, that this insurance has 14 days gestation. Otherwise this company requires 72h pre-departure pcr to activate policy
  9. so you need put date minimum 14 days prior to arrival. call them, they are working 24h, answer promptly
  10. yes, now tp is valid for 7 days prior and after date. from the 1st May new entry rules - AQ hotel and pcr are cancelled. So if you can cancel them you save some money.
  11. yes, thailand pass is obsolete - vax and insurance are checked on check in and in transit. Same is done (and can still be for unvaxed) with AQ and pcr test. Even if checked in to thailand by error, still all of them can be bought before going through immigration - possibly with help from some support team (that was the case with arriving at the beginning of thailand pass, who didn't have correct bookings). in fact thailand pass was pointless from the very beginning - all documents were checked on check in at departure. This QR code on thailand pass suppose to speed up processing at each stage of travel, but it was only scanned in thailand by medics (and that only from around end of december, not from the beginning of November).
  12. "perhaps maybe misjudged" but not ever sorry for her over the other 20 musicians and artists, who criticised him for a failed vax program a year ago and were prosecuted by him. Now, that she shoot in fame internationally, he is calming down. He is boot, as always https://www.scmp.com/week-asia/politics/article/3143489/coronavirus-prayuth-takes-aim-thailands-celebrities-vaccine
  13. from the east coast there might be flights to chiang mai with one of arab airlines, so just one stopover. Even if they don't flight that route yet, they might start around november, when season begins. Flexibility with dates would be good, to get lower fare. There might be future waves and restriction, also his health might slightly deteriorate for him to change his mind. Hence I would not buy fare or hotel until around october. But check monthly for routes and pricing. I don't think there would be problem with booking hotel at any budget. Use agoda website.
  14. the last part of your quatation: "otherwise you will need to wait for a period of 14 days before the policy takes effect."
  15. so elite police units to arrest 2 unarmed tax evaders and nobody to deal with armed mafia and criminals using some 4mln illegal guns (that's on top over 6mln legal guns, but difficult to track their use)
  16. why she has to state that her party wont meddle with investigation? It's already the second time they defend themselves with this argument. Is it because they try to play behind the scene? They all very well knew about his past and current rapes and sexual misdemeanour. They have tolerated it and he was fast tracked into senior circles. Lets see how many their female party members will be coming within the next weeks with their revelations.
  17. it's explained further below paragraph which I have quoted. Lao hydroelectricity is half price of fuel electricity production in thailand itself. All the graphs are also there
  18. the hi-so ladies might be democrat party members, so not necessary willing to undermine their party now, at their lowest level. There would be pressure now from within party, to hash them up. Same goes for his family friends. They won't stab him now yet, because of the family pressure on them. But they would be emerging gradually as this outside influence on them would ease and they would take their legal revenge later on. He was female predator for over 20 years. Likely few cases per year, judging by his score in London 20 years ago, when he raped 2 girls within months
  19. So it looks like you had usg of abdomen. for hernia talk to a physiotherapist what exercises you should and can't do. Maybe wearing support belt at some lifting. If no symptoms and not palpable probably you should wait another year. For kidney stone read about coconut juice - used in traditional medicine in Philippines. As I remember 2 coconuts daily for a week would help even in acute stages. Some other foods might also help to brake it or prevent further growth. You need to increase water, probably low calcium, to prevent build up. In europe doctors would tell what mineral content should be, but in thailand bottled water doesn't have this info on packaging.
  20. yes, free aat registered hospital, yet dog bites and vaxes should be classified as emergency if you can't travel in a reasonable time to your hospital. also possibly you still need to pay for vax (and any medication), but not for cleaning wounds, even at registered hospital. Things are different here, than in the west, where everything is covered by large taxes. When I went to a private hospital for rabies shots they charged some 350b for vial itself, but added nursing fees, hospital fees - some another 200-300b.
  21. or brave. Not only the dumbs brake laws, also the clever once pushing for change of dumb and oppressive laws. if young thai cant depose dinosaur junta at election box and on city streets, they can stil reign on social media and internet. Yet, in democratic countries people can mock the prime minister, the pop, archbishops, nobility and royalty for some hundred years. That's how backward thai social and political system is
  22. In 2021 thai electricity surplus rose to 41%, as economy is slowing down. "Thailand simply has too much energy now, with an installed generation capacity higher than power demand. Most countries keep an electricity surplus of about 15% to accommodate fluctuations. In the past decade, Thailand's energy reserve has risen to 38%, with an excess of 17,564 megawatts in 2020" https://southeastasiaglobe.com/thailand-electricity-laos-mekong-power
  23. as thailand has surplus of electric power, they should not increase price to help boost economy, even if global prices for oil and gas went up. With no tourism and many industries in decline giving some discounted price would allow them to survive. There is no need to reduce on electricity for air conditioning (one of the main part of bill) as this year temperatures are moderate.
  24. yes, thailand is minimum 90 days. if she even needs one. no need to rush. There might be new generation vax coming. Moderna planned 2nd generation this year. Also mix and match can work better
