  1. Thanks for the unfounded claims in regards to resources For example, take lithium. Lots of noise about it's scarcity. Turns out that the Salton Sea alone in the USA contains enough lithium to power 375 million EVs. WASHINGTON, D.C.—The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) today announced results of the most comprehensive analysis to date quantifying the domestic lithium resources in California’s Salton Sea region. Conducted by DOE’s Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, the analysis found that with expected technology advances, the Salton Sea region’s total resources could produce more than 3,400 kilotons of lithium, enough to support over 375 million batteries for electric vehicles (EV)—more than the total number of vehicles currently on U.S. roads. The analysis confirms the region has significant potential as a domestic source of this critical mineral used in batteries for stationary storage and EVs, both of which are crucial to the Biden-Harris Administration’s goal of a net-zero emissions economy by 2050. And unlike fossil fuels, lithium doesn't go up in smoke. https://www.energy.gov/eere/articles/us-department-energy-analysis-confirms-californias-salton-sea-region-be-rich-domestic#:~:text=Conducted by DOE's Lawrence Berkeley, the total number of vehicles And of course, lithium batteries can be recycled repeatedly. Rare earths deposits are also being found. "Rare-earth deposit discovered in Wyoming estimated to be world’s largest: American Rare Earths Limited announced last week the discovery of an estimated 2.3 billion metric tons of rare-earth metals at Halleck Creek in southeastern Wyoming, potentially the richest discovery in the world. The find has game-changing potential in the China-dominated rare-earth industry, which is vital to emerging technologies such as semiconductors, electric vehicles, and wind turbines." https://www.csis.org/analysis/geoeconomics-bi-weekly-massive-rare-earth-find-another-chips-grant-and-more-sanctions#:~:text=Rare-earth deposit discovered in,richest discovery in the world. Must be AI created it in just 3 months—and the implications are staggering. https://www.popularmechanics.com/science/green-tech/a61147476/ai-developed-magnet-free-of-rare-earth-metals/ As for EVs replacing billions of ICE vehicles...are you a believer in magic? You think it's possible to snap your fingers and turn ICE vehicles in EVs?

  3. Maybe polling as a method isn't obvious to you but it is to me.
  4. Another deflection from you. This is about mediators blaming Netanyahu for sabotaging the negotiations. Nothing to do with whether or not I think it's all down to Netanyahu,
  5. The point is Russia had cut off supplies of gas to Europe via Nordstream long before the explosions.
  6. Keep on deflecting. The issue is about the current state of negotiations and Netanyahu throwing a spanner into the works.
  7. Apparently, the mediators don't agree with those assertions. But what is believed is that Netanyahu sabotaged the negotiations. It's amazing how much implicit trust you place in the honorable intentions of that gentleman. I don't think most Israelis share your opinion.
  8. Nice try: A coalition of leftist parties won the most seats in France’s parliamentary elections, according to projections based on ballot counts, in a stunning come-from-behind victory fueled by a groundswell of opposition to Marine Le Pen’s anti-immigrant forces. https://archive.ph/rKadE https://www.wsj.com/world/europe/french-election-results-2024-4fc64d09?mod=hp_lead_pos3 Did you notice that voter participation surged in the second round in the face of a possible victory by the RN?
  9. What don't you understand about the fact that Netanyahu's statement has been deemed counterproductive to the negotiation process?
  10. Another instance of your irrelevant obsession with Biden via empty wisecracks. You've got nothing.
  11. Your questions are irrelevant. What don't you understand about this sentence? "Netanyahu’s statement, at a crucial phase ahead of the resumption of talks, sparked anger, both in Israel and among mediators, with some accusing him of attempting to sabotage hard-won progress."
  12. What don't you understand about the fact that the statement in question includes recent immigrants even second or third generation. He then goes on to say especially Muslims. But "especially" does not mean "only". Substitute "and especially of the Muslim faith" with "and only of the Muslim faith." If that doesn't make the distinction clear to you, then nothing will.
  13. When were Jews living outside of Israel asked if they considered Israel to be their homeland?
  14. This is about the negotiations, The negotiators believe Netanyahu's remarks are hurting the negotiations. Does ISW have access to the internal workings of the negotiations?
  15. Here's what HK McPhooey wrote: "it is a weakness of British democracy that recent immigrants, even second or third generation and especially of the Muslim faith even have the right to vote let alone be allowed stand for any public office when clearly their agenda is to pursue the Islamic cause." Let me help you a little bit "especially" does not mean "only".
  16. Get back to me when the ISW joins in the negotiations.
  17. "Netanyahu’s statement, at a crucial phase ahead of the resumption of talks, sparked anger, both in Israel and among mediators, with some accusing him of attempting to sabotage hard-won progress."
  18. Whether or not the gas pipelines were blown up, they already were non-functional. Nord Stream 2 never entered into service. Gazrpom shut down Nordstream 1 for repairs "indefinitelu". Putin thought he could make the Europeans knuckle under by cutting off the gas supply. His gambit failed and Russia became its victim instead. Nord Stream 1: Russia switches off gas pipeline citing maintenance https://www.theguardian.com/business/2022/aug/31/nord-stream-1-russia-switches-off-gas-pipeline-citing-maintenance
  19. You sure about that? That the fault lies with Hamas this time? It's a good thing that Israel is being led by such an honorable person as Benjamin Netanyahu.. Otherwise, there would be room for doubt. Netanyahu issues list of ‘non-negotiable’ demands as hostage talks slated to restart Ahead of the Israeli negotiating team’s departure for further hostage deal talks in Cairo and Doha later this week, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu presented a list on Sunday evening of what he said were non-negotiable Israeli demands, including a guarantee that Israel could resume fighting, which would need to be met in the event of a hostage release and ceasefire deal with Hamas. Netanyahu’s statement, at a crucial phase ahead of the resumption of talks, sparked anger, both in Israel and among mediators, with some accusing him of attempting to sabotage hard-won progress. The renewed negotiations in both Egypt and Qatar come after the Hamas terror group said on Saturday that it was ready to discuss a hostage deal and an end to the war in Gaza without an upfront commitment by Israel to a “complete and permanent ceasefire,” breaking from the position it has held in all previous negotiations since November. https://www.timesofisrael.com/netanyahu-issues-list-of-non-negotiable-demands-as-hostage-talks-slated-to-restart/
  20. More deflection. This post is about a new minister's comments about Donald Trump. Nothing in the text of the article has anything to do with the current President.
  21. Does this quote look familiar? "You can't have a second referendum before the result of the first one is implemented." Actually, you can. In a democracy where refererenda are allowed, it's permissible for the electorate to say "oops" whenever a referendum is brought before them.
