Thai PM Responds to US Visa Ban Uncertainty Amid Uyghur Deportation

Well in some parts, it is worse than 3rd world. No denying that. The violence and poverty is shocking, frightening and worse than what existed 100+years ago. Examples are parts of West Virginia, Kentucky, Louisiana and Mississippi. -

I would prefer if kangaroos were not culled, but there is a legitimate reason for it. The roos destroy sensitive ecosystems when they overpopulate, endangering more fragile animals, birds and reptiles. They also risk starvation and disease. They no longer have natural predators. -

Make it simpler to understand the lies that Trump has spun. Under the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA), 98% of goods entering Canada from the U.S. have no tariffs. Of the goods subject to tariff, some have an allowance before the tariff applies. For example, on dairy products, no 200% tariff has been collected on US dairy products , despite Trump saying there is a tariff. This is because the US has exported well below its allowance. The dairy deal the USA has with Canada was a mirror of the existing US dairy tariff format and was negotiated by Trump's administration. The USMCA tariff list is here https://ustr.gov/sites/default/files/files/agreements/FTA/USMCA/Text/CA_Tariff_Schedule_Appendix_1.pdf Trump also misrepresents GST/VAT as a tax on US products. The GST/VAT is a sales tax . It speaks to the lack of education of Americans that Trump's claims are so easily accepted. -
Is Trump driving the US into a recession? – in charts

Trump's real estate is heavily leveraged with multiple loans. The debt was estimated to be $1.5 billion in 2024. Trump's election commission filings in 2024 were less specific because he only has to declare a range. https://www.citizensforethics.org/reports-investigations/crew-investigations/trump-reported-700-million-of-business-income-hundreds-of-millions-in-debt-on-latest-financial-disclosure/ It is said that a recession now would benefit large debtors like Trump, because interest rates are expected to be forced down. As interest rates decrease, the cost of servicing a large debt decreases. Why else would Trump be demanding lower interest rates? https://www.reuters.com/markets/us/trump-says-he-will-demand-lower-interest-rates-immediately-2025-01-23/ -

Where do you get your information? Please provide the incidents because I see nothing that supports your claim. Let's look at the data using your parameters. I am being generous by. looking at the last 7 incidents and those were in the last year. 1 female identified, and no Trans people identified. There are school shootings every week in the USA, yet the likelihood of the shootings involving a Trans person seem to be rather remote. Please educate us. 1. 22-Jan-2025 Antioch, TN Solomon Henderson, male age 17, 4 involved; In his writings, Henderson praised various mass killers, including the perpetrators of the Christchurch mosque shootings and 2022 Bratislava shooting, along with sharing antisemitic and racist views. Not Trans, used a legally obtained firearm 2. 16-Dec-2024 Abundant Life Christian School, Madison, WI, Natalie Rupnow female age 15, 10 involved; Avid gun club member. No known motive although it is alleged that she had writings that were considered to be racist and hateful. Not Trans, used a legally obtained firearm. 3. 10-Nov-2024 Tuskagee, AL University, Homecoming event, Two suspects, 25-year-old Jaquez Myrick , and 20 year old Jeremiah Williams, were arrested and charged. Myrick plead guilty to possession of an illegally modified legal firearm. The other person's case is proceeding. No motive established for the shootings. Neither is trans. 4. 19-Oct-2024 Albany GA, Albany State University , 6 involved, Still under investigation. Unlikely that any Trans people were responsible. I would have been more concerned about someone advocating violence, but ok. What cult is that? Compassion? Concern for the kidnapping of children? Who knows what has happened to them. Russia has long had a problem with child sexual abuse. It is to be expected that the "disappeared" would have had many children subject to horrific acts of abuse.

Thailand Cuts Visa-Free Stay to 30 Days to Combat Abuse
Patong2021 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
A tourist visa is a proper visa. How is it that other countries can manage much longer visa periods? Schengen -90 days, Canada- 180 days, Vietnam -90 days, Japan -90 days, Australia - Options of 3, 6 and 12 months (without the Thai type of hassles), Indonesia 30 days VOA or 60 days evisa, Singapore -90 days and so on. 60 days is a reasonable period. The extended period for tourist visas is not the cause of the problems with foreigners. The problem is the failure to screen who is coming into Thailand and the opening of the doors to criminals from known countries. Blaming everyone because of the incompetence and corruption of local Thai officials won't solve the problem. The troublemakers will remain and the quality visitors won't stay. -

Injustice elsewhere does not excuse inappropriate cruelty in Australia. Your finger pointing ignores tthe fact that the people who are most upset over an overt act of cruelty to a young animal are also the people who lead the way on humanitarian activities. Australia is a civilized nation subject to law. The American woman takes delight in publishing photos of herself with various animals killed for trophies. She knew what she did was wrong and she intentionally tormented the animal for monetary gain. An Australian may be powerless to stop illegal acts in far off sovereign nations, but they can stop an ignorant American from flouting Australian laws for her personal profit. -

The issue will be pressing soon enough once the USA imposes its trade tariffs on Thailand. Thais are going to be surprised on April 2. If there are potent tariffs, watch for an anti American sentiment. The local Russians and Chinese will be laughing. Thailand is in a better place than some countries, although 19% of its exports are to the USA. Many of those exports are of items critical to the USA and are for products not economically viable to manufacture in the USA. It's not like the USA has an abundance of latex or even the capacity to build small electronics. The USA may give the shove that puts Thailand firmly under the influence of China. -

How about staying on topic? I know it is difficult for some of the MAGA enthusiasts to deal with unpleasant facts, but if you start a topic, don't deflect and offer unrelated issues when someone points out the deficiency in your claims. OK. Please offer some evidence to support your claim that most Americans agree with what he is doing. The math does not support your claim. The population of the USA is approx. 340 million citizens. Of that number an estimated 244,666,890 were eligible to vote. Only 156,302,318 people voted in the US federal election. Trump obtained 77,284,118 votes. (For comparison purposes, Biden obtained 81,284,666 votes in 2020.) Despite his claims, Trump did not receive a majority of votes. Do the math: Of eligible voters, Trump obtained 31.59% of their votes. Of those who voted, he obtained 49.445%. That is not the definition of most. It does mean that a large number of people supported a change in direction, and/or others did not like the alternative candidate, and/or others were die hard Trump enthusiasts and supported his agenda. Don't change subject because you are unable to respond to a coherent point that disagrees with you. Germany has a robust electoral system. If you wish to compare the two electoral systems, please start a new topic. I am sure that the well educated Germans will explain how their electoral system works. You are the one making the claim. The onus is on you to support it. Yes, Trump won an election, but he did not obtain a majority. No one denies that he won an election. Thai isn't just an arrogant stament it is obnoxiously ignorant and you no longer have any credibility. You know nothing about the integrity of elections in Australia, Canada, Denmark, Norway, UK etc. On the contrary, they have the advantage of being run by neutral apolitical bodies. The Australian Electoral Commission, like Elections Canada and others, are the gold standard. There is no room for political interference. In the USA Secretaries of State (or other political positions) for each of the US states oversees the federal election. If the Secretary of State is a Republican or a Democrat there is an opportunity for political bias. In the USA electoral district boundaries are subject to gerrymandering by the legislature resulting in the indirect disenfranchisement of voters. This is less likely to occur in countries where an independent apolitical body sets the boundaries. Ok. An honest response. And at least you admit to agreeing with the reductions in critical positions such as forest ranger firefighters, air traffic controllers, national park paramedics and others. And you support the reduction in public health scientists and research into infectious diseases. And you are honest in your support of the increased likelihood of tax evasion and non payment of income taxes, forcing the burden of taxes onto honest people because the IRS has laid off thousands of people who were responsible for ensuring tax laws were followed. And you agree with the neutering of the FTC so that unfair trade practices and the investigations into the dominant media monopolies of Facebook, X , TikTok and others will be dropped along with investigations of large pharmaceutical companies. And you agree with the blocking of the FDA's ability to oversee the pharmaceutical industry because the compliance scientists have been terminated. You wanted it, and you are getting it. This is your choice and it is to be respected. However, please do not complain when the impact of that choice manifests itself. It won't be the fault of politicians or even of Trump, but of people like you who demanded these actions. And what data do you have to support this nonsensical claim? The dislike for the USA is now changing to hatred, so I do not see where this groundswell of love is supposedly coming from. -
RFK Jr. Cautions Against Vaccinating Poultry Amid Bird Flu Concerns

You are attempting to reason with a person manifesting mental illness. We know that the disease measles is caused by Morbillivirus infection. It is an established fact. The claims made that there is no virus are false and not even defensible under the premise of free speech. Denying reality is a manifestation of mental illness. He is being enabled by people who think they are making a political point or find it amusing by spreading false information. Unfortunately, they must be tolerated until they die off. Covid disposed of a large number of them. -

Teslas torched with Molotov cocktails and shot with gun
Patong2021 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
I don't know who torched the vehicles. I do know that they are criminals and environmental vandals. In respect to the list I provided, it shows who is culpable in putting Trump in office and in allowing for the excesses of the current administration. The reference to George Soro's alleged contribution to a group that most likely was not involved in vandalism is an attempt to blame Soros for something he did not do, George Soros is infirm. He is no longer involved in political events. -
None of the above supports your claims. What part of "He believes that providing bacterial resistance is a general property of all herpesviruses" is a proof of the hypothesis? All of the above may be accurate, but a belief is not a proof. Working on a cure, is not a cure. The same can be said about effective treatments for HIV and Cancer. People have been working on effective treatments for decades. Dumping information is not a substitute for providing a supportive argument. You are out of your league. Cutting and pasting isn't helping your cause.

Teslas torched with Molotov cocktails and shot with gun
Patong2021 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
There are multiple candiadates behind some of the arsons; 1. Aggrieved workers fired/laid off who blame Elon Musk for their job loss. 2. The vandals/agitators who rally to any political cause that is in the moment. They are the people who run to Occupy Wall Street, BLM, and other protests, often without fully understanding what is going on. For some it is fun, and for others it is part of their political/social views. 3. Tesla franchise owners who are suffering financial losses because of the slide of Tesla. They need money and what better way to get rid of inventory than to stick it to the floor plan insurer by torching some of the non performing assets. It's a common insurance fraud and difficult to prove. It has happened with auto dealers before. 4. Idiots who think they are patriots making a political statement. They are not, and are just idiots. Burning vehicles and creating toxic waste is not an environment friendly act. On the contrary, it is anti environmental. As such, it is doubtful that any bonafide environmental protection activists were involved.
