There are multiple problems with these dinner cruises; -The "entertainment" is not particularly good. It would be tolerable if the food was good. The cruise line would do its guests a tremendous service if it offered a string quartet alternating with a wood wind ensemble or even a decent piano player. There is no need to offer a Carnival Cruise line type of floor show. - Aside from the Chinese and cheap charlie types, no one wants a buffet. Who wants to pay a premium price and then be told to go get a plate and line up and fight with people for your meal. How is that luxurious? And then there is the drink service. The cruise lines make a tidy sum off of their bar sales. I never want to be in a restaurant that has a buffet and mainland Chinese. It is beyond annoying.

In respect you your statement, when a US citizen is forcibly removed from the USA, it is technically not a deportation since a US national cannot be deported. It is however a removal. There have been multiple removals of US national minors, with several now before the courts. The circumstances are disputed, but at the very least there was a duty to act in a child's best interests and there clearly is evidence that some removals did not do this.

They are more fatalistic than Thais and their sense of hospitality is different too. Their corruption can be more intense and overt. You want to complain about Thais not being proactive, well the Vietnamese are even worse. A large number of the people who visit Thailand now would not be welcome in Vietnam as the Vietnamese have a low tolerance for misbehaving foreigners. In public, they can be quite prudish.
