  1. I read it, and as I wrote, I doubt the story. Because they claim they were innocent and paid to do this does not mean they were. Everytime someone is stopped, they almost always claim they were forced or mistakenly got involved or were naive mules. There used to be a program on Discovery that profiled the Columbian police at El Dorado airport. The drug traffickers they stopped always had some lovely inventive stories. Some were indeed. stupid mules, but others were often entrepreneurs with a get rich plan. It makes no sense to pay anyone to import cannabis into the UK because of the pervasive grow ops that are omnipresent. It's like the old tale of bringing coal to Newcastle or selling ice to an "Eskimo".
  2. Nothing has changed. Pattaya, Patong. It was like this 10 years ago. Covid changed things because the place was depopulated. Now that the high volume of visitors is back, the idiots are out and about too. The incidents aren't that numerous considering the millions who pass through.
  3. Mostly negative experience. Low quality products. It's Mr. DIY quality.
  4. Cocoa shortages are the reason for the increason. War and fungus are the cause. The cheaper options skimp on cocoa. I stick with Lindt because everything else is crap, especially Hershey's and Mars products.
  5. THe polling in respect to the Republican handling of the economy is not looking good. https://www.reuters.com/world/us/many-americans-see-trumps-actions-economy-too-erratic-reutersipsos-poll-finds-2025-03-12/ Nearly half of Americans said the economy is worsening, according to a The Economist/YouGov poll.Forty-eight percent of respondents said they believe the economy is getting worse, while 19 percent said it is getting better. The poll took place between March 9 and 11, I get what Trump's goal is, but he is getting bad advice from economists and strategist who live in fringe theory land. Tanking the economy is not going to break the inflation curse.
  6. Doubt that they were mules here. Sounds like it was more of a "genius" get rich quick plan. Mules don't typically move cannabis like this.
  7. They have always been called ladyboys. No need to get your depends panties all bunched up on an accurate term for them.
  8. Nothing you have written is a valid argument that can be used to block the US government action. The US has the right to revoke Green Cards without cause. There is no legal right to a Green Card. Your statement about a backlog is nonsensical and has no relevance here. Yes, Khalil will mount a defence on the basis that he should have a hearing to determine whether or not he violated immigration laws, in particular making a fraudulent statement about his activities when he applied for the status. The fact is that holding immigrants until a case is adjudicated is allowed and a common practice. There was no need for a warrant for his arrest as he was detained on a violation of his immigration status. US immigration law is draconian and can be argued to be abusive. However, it is what it is.
  9. Too many morbidly obese women not fully contained on the Hua Hin beach. Their flab is not AI generated.
  10. Read up on the legal status of a green card. Not US Citizens and card can be revoked at any time. Under the Immigration and Nationality Act, green card holders do not need to be convicted of something to be “removable". They can be deported if the secretary of homeland security or the attorney general have reasonable grounds to believe they engaged in, or are likely to engage in, terrorist activities. Feel free to argue his case before an immigration law judge.
  11. Not really. He is an Algerian advocating on behalf of a listed terror group. Would you not be up in arms if US nationals entered Germany on work visas and started advocating on behalf of the listed anti muslim groups?
  12. Secretary Rubio gave a rather. concise and explicit explanation. "No one has a right to a student visa," Rubio said. "No one has a right to a green card, by the way. So when you apply for student visa or any visa to enter the United States, we have a right to deny you for virtually any reason, but I think being a supporter of Hamas and coming into our universities and turning them upside down, and being complicit and what are clearly crimes of vandalization, complicit in shutting down learning institutions." Secretary of State Marco Rubio has "determined" that Khalil's "presence or activities in the United States would have serious adverse foreign policy consequences for the United States." He is a citizen of Algeria, according to a Department of Homeland Security document obtained by CBS News.
  13. The USA cannot remain a preferred market if it forces everyone to go elsewhere. It won't take much of a shift to inflict pain.
  14. Lay off the Soviet Propaganda. The Russians nearly cost themselves the war with their mismanagement of the Kursk attacks. You forget that Russia lost 1.7 million personnel as either dead or injured to the Germans 350,000 (500,000 if you accept Russian claims). Russia depleted its airforce when the loss of 4,000 aircraft in this campaign. Russia was sending waves of unarmed conscripts . Nothing much has changed ith the Russian mentality has it?
  15. MAGA collective is quiet. The Russian shills, not so quiet. Where are the great conspiracy claims that we would be treated to if this was Biden or Obama? Not even an idiotic name like Vodkagate, yet or convuluted imagined scenarios of Russian sabotage. Surely, the fact that a Russian controlled vessel went directly at high speed into a stationary tanker carrying aircraft fuel for the US military merits some concern.
  16. Give it a rest. 711 Coalition personnel lost their lives in Afghanistan. The UK lost 457 and Canada 159. These 2 partners drew the 2 most dangerous zones. Other countries like France lost 90, Denmark 43 and so on. And you know what the US response is? Insults, threats and belittlement. Denmark gets threatened, Canada gets threatened. The UK is insulted. And so on. And this comes from Corporal bonespurs of all people assisted by his batboy media clerk VP who skillfully avoided combat in Iraq. The USA is the only NATO member to have invoked Article 5 and all those countries you insult came to the defense of the USA and wasted their resources in a war started by the USA. The USA is quickly becoming a pariah state because of arrogant obnoxious assaults on the world. Everyone is wrong and only the Trump collective has it right. The USA is going to find itself in a very isolated place with no off ramp and then people will go, why does everyone hate us, and why won't they help us? You know who is a coward? Elon Musk who called Senator Mark Kelly a traitor, and the Republicans who said nothing. Kelly was getting shot at over Iraq as a combat pilot and Musk has the audacity to insult him. Republicans were afraid to say anything to Musk. That's what cowards do.
  17. Careful now, you are in effect holding the USA responsible for trying to get the Russians out of the Crimean port and that won't go over well with the MAGA collective.
  18. The Europeans have been facing off against Russia since the start of the conflict, which you have conveniently ignored was in large part enabled by the USA. It was Europe which wanted to avoid a conflict. Just as Trump says the Ukraine started the war despite Russia being the invader, you now claim that the EU is begging the USA for help. The EU is asking the USA to take responsibility for the consequences of a war that the USA helped initiate, ok.
  19. Don't expect to be taken seriously when you spit out nonsense like this. Canada has not rolled over. The response hasn't even started. The retaliatory tariffs from Canada were never removed. The electricity tax was in addition to those tariffs. Outside of your little group no one is saying Canada was smacked down. As the US economy starts to unravel, I think we will see some changes. It takes time. The resources are not going anywhere and it is physically impossible to replace them in months or even a year. The USA can't go it alone and it has declared economic war on just about everyone. If no one wants to trade or transact with the USA, the USA is going to have a problem. 78% of its GDP is service based. Only industry creates sustainable long term wealth. Selling mutual funds, or serving fries at Wendy's isn't where the wealth is. It is in taking raw materials and transforming them into items of higher value. Crops will be rotting in US fields because of the shortage of farm labor. New homes will increase in cost because of labor shortages and increased construction material costs. This takes time to manifest.
  20. Unfortunately, the world doesn't work like that. What occurred on the campus of Columbia and other universities was literal hate speech. People were adviocating for the physical harm to students. Students were being harassed and assaulted. Had it been kept to voicing a political or social position without the vandalism, threats, assaults and harassment, we wouldn't be at this stage. The universities refused to respond. There was a double standard applied. Had someone been carrying nooses and demanding to lynch blacks, there would have been action. Had the protests said and done the same thing to muslim students, there would have been action. I saw some of the literature that was circulated. It was rather intense and much of it was foreign inspired. Many of the protestors on campus were not even students, but outsiders. The non PC aspect of the university response was that administrators were often supporters of the political campaigns or part of the activist community, particularly the muslims. I do not agree with the suspension of funding for all programs and see the anti semitism isuse as an excuse to cut the funding. Unfortunately, it is hard to make a case to argue against it when the universities refused to take action against the hate campaigns and the violence that ensued.
  21. Maybe it was North Korea, again. Much of the world's cyber crime, particularly DNS and related extortion ransomware is traced back to North Korea. The country has a state sponsored operation from which it derives much of its FX revenue. Almost every western government has an advisory and documentation on the issue. Here is one of the US briefings; https://www.cisa.gov/topics/cyber-threats-and-advisories/advanced-persistent-threats/north-korea
  22. They do not, otherwise New England would not be importing 9% of their electricity. It isn’t replaceable because generating capacity is maxed out. The alternative sources are more expensive too. Try and replace. 27 Mwh of clean energy and see how well it goes. You can breathe more coal fumes.
  23. The dowager Countess of Grantham would have been dismayed by this. The very thought of druggies from Thirsk roaming about is horrible. What’s next, jitterbugging in Ripon?
