Automatic doors are supposed to have a reverse/release mechanism if they encounter resistance. If the mechanism was not working or defective, he could have been trapped between the door and a fixed surface. Although elderly people can and do have brittle bones, anyone can see a bone break if it is leveraged in the right way.

Fractured hips in the elderly are serious, and are often life ending injuries. Aside from the risk of blood clots and their damage, these injuries are slow to heal and often result in sepsis. Even when healed an estimated 1/2 of all elderly patients lose their mobility. It is why slips and falls are so devastating in the elderly. 2 weeks in an ICU, is not unusual if the injury brought on complications. I feel for the gentleman. A stay in a Thai hospital for that type of injury isn't going to be easy either, especially if he is in a lot of pain.

VP Harris did what she had to do. Trump made a fool of himself. He started small with his boasting about the size of his crowds in a childish manner. Then he showed himself to be a racist instigator with the false claim that Haitians were eating people's companion animals. It's pretty bad when a Republican Governor and supporter has to correct you. He then showed how clueless he is when he complained about being fact checked every time he let loose with a lie. He said it wasn't fair that he was constantly being corrected. Well, Donald, if you didn't want to be corrected, you shouldn't have lied and misrepresented as often as you did. The moderators did the responsible thing when they pointed out the actual facts.

Rubbish. You are regurgitating Goebbels propaganda and I am not surprised. There was an event called WWI. The dislike of the Huns grew after WWI and was guaranteed to remain for decades. The tremendous loss of life caused by the war and the walking crippled wounded that had come back served as a painful reminder. Great Britain with its respect for the rule of law and basic freedoms was an obstacle to Germany's expansion desire to impose its will on others.

I consider him a personal hero. A man's man. Never a coward, always bold and fearless. Driven by his sense of duty, he was a man of destiny. He is judged now using the criteria of the 2020's. He was liberal and progressive by the standards of the 1900's. The people came back to him and he served from 1951 to 1955 as PM.

The bias of the Trump collective is on display. In their eyes, Trump can do no wrong. VP Harris' performance produced sighs of relief from her supporters. She held her own. It's down to the few thousand voters in 7 key states and what they will do. Attack the candidates all you want, but it does not matter. Trump's support is baked in. It's rock solid and won't change, no matter what. He has at least 46% of voter's support. He has never exceeded 50% support. The Harris support has 47%-50% and it has at times surpassed 50%. Trump's gaffes and multiple falsehoods won't change his core supporters. They will remain. What it may do, and the immediate interviews with focus groups suggest, is that some undecideds and some wavering Trump supporters will move to Harris and stay there. All she needs is the few thousand voters in the 7 states and more turnout in her core states to ensure a victory. Once people decide, they won't change their votes. It will come down to getting people to vote.

Your statement is not reflective of the data reported by the county. Please provide a source for that claim. Clark County which includes Springfield, reports 12,000- 15,000 immigrants of all national origins. The population of Clark County is approximately 135,000 and according to the US census is 88% white. And before you claim Democratic Party misrepresentation, note that the county votes Republican county. https://springfieldohio.gov/immigration-faqs/

New Andaman Marine Ring to Slash Phuket-Krabi Travel by 90 Minutes
Patong2021 replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
I believe you are missing the point. The route is also intended for logistics. The road is often subject to tailbacks and during rainy season, washouts that can tie up traffic for days. During high season trucks and buses make the route a nightmare. If the cargo and some tourists can be moved by boat is is a win for everyone. And btw Krabi attracts a wealthier and older demographic than Ko Samui. Krabi has daily air service from BKK from 4 airlines. No need to go to DMK. In respect to ko Samui, there are approx. 36 daily flights to BKK, 24 of which are direct. They are often sold out during tourist season. This is one of the reasons why people go to Surat Thani. Taking the bus and ferry is a miserable experience and adds more than an hour or two. -
Thai doctor vows to create "Hitler Room" to gas hospital smokers

Vaping is just as dangerous and just as imposing on other people. Vapers are ingesting unregulated and unknown chemicals into their lungs. The claims of "safe" alternative come from the purveyors of the products. -
Frenchman arrested in Krabi for eight-year visa overstay
Patong2021 replied to snoop1130's topic in Krabi News
My position is irrelevant. What matters is how the laws are written and what they say. It is impossible for someone to be illegal. A person's acts can be illegal, but not the person. The law defines who a person is and what is legal or illegal. You have a political position and want to find a way to justify your position. Even though the laws as written do not support your position you are trying to force the argument so that it fits. Do it all you want, but what it does not change the laws, nor how they are written. If the law said people as "illegal" . -

Yes, entering a country without authorization is usually considered to be an unlawful or illegal act. Where did I use the phrase "legal worker"? I do not see it. I believe that I had used the term legal and undocumented labour. The labour being an activity that was authorized as in documented with appropriate taxes retained and filings made. For example, activity undertaken by people with a work visa. Undocumented labour is activity that is not documented, as in permitted. -
So much bias and wishful thinking on display. One fact not recognized is that a large number of voters who say that they are supporting a candidate do not show up to vote and others say whatever they feel like saying just to screw with the pollster. Other people don't like to share who they are voting for and intentionally give an inaccurate response.

Nope. Describing a worker as illegal, is not correct. There is no such thing as an ‘illegal’ person. People commit illegal acts, or the right to engage in an activity may not be permitted, but in law a person cannot be 'illegal". Objects can be illegal. A person legally authorized to be in a country can undertake illlegal activity. For example, in Thailand it is illegal for foreign tourists to sell opium for fun. It is also illegal for foreign tourists to work as a hairdresser. The tourists are legally in Thailand but are engaged in an illegal activity. An undocumented person is a person who is not legally authorized to be in the country. If that person works, the work in some states can be considered illegal. If the state does not have a law excluding the work, the work may not be not be illegal. The person would not qualify for Federal law benefits. An Undocumented person does not give up protections afforded by state or federal law. For example, it is illegal to murder or to physically assault undocumented people. An "illegal" object does not enjoy those legal rights. For example, a person who had an illegal weapon could not claim compensation if the weapon was destroyed in a criminal act or if confiscated by a legal authority. -
Would you be surprised that automated checkin at kiosks is in excess of 85% and that bag tags are 85% self printed too? This is predominately for non premium class passengers. There will always be a manual checkin capability, but the trend is to offer reduced staffing. Where there were once multiple checkin counters with agents to process passengers, particularly on domestic flights, there may be one or two. Some people are okay waiting in line. The trend is to get away from checkin agents on domestic flights. Bangkok Airway has been pushing passengers to use the self checkin lines for years. Domestic checkin at Phuket now has both Air Asia and Thai checkin kiosks and it is a welcome option compared to the ridiculously long lines for manual checkin.

Labour's Britain: A Landscape of Bluster and Inaction

May I draw your attention to the following; Project to improve the A40 in Oxfordshire has been delayed - 30th November 2022 https://www.oxfordmail.co.uk/news/23160536.project-improve-a40-oxfordshire-delayed/#:~:text=In April%2C the council's cabinet, its costs due to inflation. The former Conservative Council had approved the expansion, but local elections changed the composition of the council to a coalition of Lib Dems, Labour and Greens who inherited the project. They realized that they did not have the £106.7 million needed to pay for the project. Can they really be blamed for prudent management of finances? -
Sheraton is now at the low end of the Marriott brands. And the Sheratons in Manhattan have been depressing, and poor value for at least the past 25 years. It's been a brand in decay for at least a decade. This thread is a BS exercise. No one offers tuck in service. Who in their right mind even wants to see housekeeping when they are around? There are no luxury hotels in Pattaya. Luxury as in Four Seasons, Hong Kong's Mandarin Oriental, or some of the opulent options in Dubai. At best there is Intercontinental and Dusit Thani. Centara is like a Hilton. I doubt that the OP can afford to spend 60,000 baht a night for a suite at the Intercontinental.

The people you describe have always been reluctant to do manual labour, particularly agriculture field work. The last people you want working on a roof or other construction are the mentally ill or drug addicts. Do you want a mentally ill person at a slaughterhouse, holding sharp knives or an electric saw? In some countries, much of the staff in senior care homes is filled by both legal and undocumented labour. No one wants to work in a laundry handling feces and urine soaked bedsheets and clothes. Many restaurants in the USA would close without undocumented labour. Urban Americans don't like hard work and are not willing to consider communal living in order to make ends meet. -

Automatic transmissions were ridiculed too. There was resistance to seatbelts and the auto industry fought until the late 1980's against airbags. Today's fuel economy standards were forced upon the auto industry, but have come to be greatly appreciated as fuel prices spiked. And so it goes. -

He was sarcastic. The intent was to attract attention to the selfishness of smokers. It is frustrating for a physician treating heart and lung diseases to be confronted by idiots who smoke inside and near the entrances of hospitals. -
The difference is that Judaism allows for and encourages discussion and challenging of the faith. It is how Judaism evolved and why there are enlightened versions of it today. The same holds for Christianity. At one time the Church of Rome claimed to be the only interpretation. Centuries of corruption gave rise to a non christian faith. The Reformation through its own clergy brought the faith back to its roots. Christianity like Judaism has since evolved.
