  1. It looks like someone was doing work and was implicated in the incident. Instead of trying to help the victim, and calling for medical assistance, he ran away. I am not surprised. Disappointed, but not surprised.
  2. How many of unauthorized immigrants in Denver are there? How many of the unauthorized immigrants are violent criminals?
  3. The New York State convictions were not dropped and stand. The federal charges are withdrawn on a technicality, and not on their merit.
  4. Read the statements again. The allegations are all out there. They have been hushed up. If a democrat had the allegations that Gaetz has, you would be screaming from the rooftop of a conspiracy.
  5. What was factually incorrect? There was a time in the USAwhen sexual predators would not be considered for higher office. It is hypocritical for America's evangelicals and those who proclaim their moral integrity to not speak out on some of the cabinet nominees.
  6. It is a false narrative to describe Islam and Judaism having rubbed along rather well until the mid 20th century. Islam has always treated non muslims as subhuman. The historic reality is that the harmony you allude to was a direct result of Ottoman Empire Rule and of the presence of European colonial powers, particularly the French in North Africa. The Ottoman Turks were not given to the religious excess of their arab subjects. However, in the places where local muslims were in power, the jewish people were obliged to pay a special tax and were subject to employment restrictions. Unlike muslims, jews (and Christians) were considered Dhimmis and were denied the same rights as muslims. The muslims undertook periodic ethnic cleansings. For example, they drove out the jewish tribes from Arabia. Those tribes then sought refuge in greater Israel. Your statement denies the historic mistreatment of non muslims and presents a false history. Itis no different than the idiots who are now claiming that Jesus was a Palestinian. (He was a Judean and a jew.)
  7. No. The issue is that there is an overt bias against Israel. Please do not tell me that the muslim bloc which includes Pakistan, Sudan, Iran, Pakistan Syria and others are in a position to lecture anyone on human rights. Yes, this group of nation is blatantly anti semitic.
  8. It is not done. The reality is that Trump is full of sh*t. The total amount of unauthorized migrants entering from Canada is the equivalent of a weekend's worth on the southern border. Under the safe country agreement, anyone caught can be sent back to canada as soon as they are apprehended. There are also migrants entering Canada from the USA. The bigger problem is the flow of firearms, drugs and tobacco from the USA into Canada. Trump wants to put 25% tariffs on Canadian imports from Canada, but he wants to exempt Canadian imports. Currently, the over half of all US oil imports come from Canada. 4.42 million barrels a day. Canada can put a tariff on the exports. Yes, the US tariffs will hurt Canada, but once Canada retaliates with tariffs on US goods, watch US housing prices increase, and shortages to occur in some industries. US farmers will not be thrilled when Canadians stop buying US produce and switch to other suppliers. 30+ states have Canada as their largest trading partners. The USA blames Mexico for its problem at the border. it's a made in USA problem,. Someone is buying the drugs from Mexico and hiring the unauthorized migrants. Almost all of the firearms seized in Mexico come from the USA. There has been a reduction of migrants at the US border since last June. In fact the problem isn't with new migrants, but rests with the population already in the USA.
  9. man·date noun the authority to carry out a policy or course of action, regarded as given by the electorate to a candidate or party that is victorious in an election. https://politicaldictionary.com/words/mandate/ Broadly, a mandate is the authority that voters confer on an elected official to act as their representative. Usually, though, a political mandate refers to the idea that a political official has been elected because the public strongly supports their platforms and wants to see them enacted. A political party often declares a mandate after a wave election. Donald Trump’s first election staggered the media and led to a rash of articles debating whether the new president had a mandate. For some, it was clear. As the AP reported, then-Speaker Paul Ryan called Trump’s victory “a repudiation of the status quo of failed liberal progressive policies.” Critics, however, argued that Trump did not have a mandate because he had won the electoral college but had failed to win the popular vote. This time, Trump has won both the electoral college and the popular vote. He also carried the Senate and the House. The man has a very obvious mandate. To deny this is to deny reality.
  10. Trump was given a mandate to be President. The mandate includes the use of all powers and authority that attaches to the Presidency. Trump was not given a mandate to violate the US Constitution or to engage in bullying, or illegal acts. Trump will be able to carry out his mandate using his legitimate and legal powers. The moment his administration violates the US Constitution and/or engages in illegal acts, he will be challenged. Trump cannot suspend the US Constitution. Many of the claims of extremist actions, are just that, claims. To date, Trump has been following the rules. It is his right to choose cabinet officials, even if some are woefully bad. And btw, he's picked some very solid people too. It's a shame that the focus is on a few duds, when some are going to be good cabinet secretaries.
  11. Opportunistic theft is common at Thai beaches. Why is anyone surprised? The only surprising aspect of the thefts is that tourists would be surprised that they were robbed. I have seen people running about screaming because their wallet was stolen from their pants. It's why the police post signs to watch your valuables and to lock them up.
  12. So much for the alleged famine and starvation that we have been told has been going on for years. So much for diversity and equality. All I see are fat middle aged men. No women, no people of colour. Gaza does have 11,000 Black people. The Arabs force them to live in the Al Abeed district Al Jalla'a district. Al Abeed is arabic for Slaves.
  13. The words demonstrate the limited intelligence of those who propose simplistic solutions for a complex problem. Are you even aware of Presidential Proclamation 1077 that changed the threshold rules? Migrant advocacy groups have been protesting against the Biden administration because of this proclamation amendment. Unauthorized entrants who are apprehended are screened within 24 hours of apprehension. Almost everyone who crosses without authorization is generally ineligible for asylum, absent exceptionally compelling circumstances. In order to stay, they must show a credible fear of life reason to remain. If they cannot remain, they are removed as soon as they are processed. This is the vast majority of people. The people who are allowed to remain pending a hearing must show a fear of life basis. Anyone considered a risk is fitted with a tracking ankle bracelet or is detained. If they violate the terms of the permission to remain, they are subject to immediate removal from the country. If they are allowed to remain, in accordance with the US treaty agreements, then they are not "illegal". If the intent is to deport unauthorized entrants, why put them on buses to Colorado? The current rules are to immediately remove them. Why are you now asking that they be allowed to stay? If you really are serious about dealing with unauthorized migrants crack down on the US nationals who smuggle them and who profit from their exploitation. Arrest and punish the contractors who drive through the migrant day labour zones in AZ, NV, CA etc. looking for cheap day labour. The migrants would not be able to come to the USA and to live there unless they were enabled.
  14. The point is that the Denver mayor is not the stereotypical activist. He is not some imagined third world radical with an odd sounding name who can be accused of eating the dogs and cats of his cities. He is as suburban white bread as they come and his wife is assistant district attorney who prosecutes juvenile offenders. He can recite all the crime stats and data of his city and state and prove that the exaggerated claims of an immigrant crime wave are false. Trump agenda supporters see the man as a threat because he is well spoken, tough, popular, and intelligent. His having a beautiful family and being blessed with dashing all american good looks must upset them to no end. Although, I am not surprised at your inability to concentrate on anything without a picture and not written in a "Dick & Jane " style, I see no need for you to share your lack of cognitive ability.
  15. Nothing is absurd with the electoral college system. It is actually very democratic and protects the country from regionalism. The problem is that you do not understand how it works. Each state and DC is allocated a number of electoral college votes equal to the number of Senators and Representatives in its U.S. Congressional delegation -two votes for its Senators in the U.S. Senate plus a number of votes equal to the number of its Congressional districts, with DC allocated three electors. Aside from a slight difference in Maine and Nebraska, the electoral votes are decided based on the total votes cast for a candidate, so your statement that the percentage of votes cast is irrelevant is not correct. It is no different than the first past the post format for the election of a MPs in most parliamentary democracies. In the USA, to simplify, there are 51 individual voting districts each with a number of electoral votes that reflects their population. In a parliamentary democracy, a party can select its PM if it wins enough seats, even though it wins a lower percentage of the popular vote. The US electoral system is similar. The electoral college prevents a regional dominance and acts to ensure that smaller regions still have a voice and are not ignored. The Electoral College system works and it is fair.
  16. He's right. They also do it with Vodka and Gin. One should not be surprised if some bars refill their bottles with bootleg versions. Easier to fool customers when they are served in mixed drinks that are sweetened, e.g. long island iced tea, whiskey sour, gin gimlet. I stopped buying anything but beer in non international hotels because I lost confidence in the integrity of the supply chain.
  17. One issue at a time.get the truce deal with Hezbollah done. Wrap up the operation in Gaza. There is little anyone can do militarily to the Houthis. Much of the country is already in the stone age. Launching missiles will do little and there will be large civilian casualties. The Houthis, like Hezbollah and Hamas locate their military infrastructure in schools, hospitals and residential areas. Focus on Iran. Accept that Iran's leadership may have to be wiped out. Iran tried to assassinate candidate Trump. It has assassins circulating in the UK, Canada and the EU. It has just been caught trying to assassinate the former minister of justice of Canada. the problem is Iran.
  18. Political rhetoric and some crafty MAGAites realizing that people like Mike Johnston are a threat to the MAGA manifesto. The mayor is popular. He is young, white and happily married with 3 kids. Not even the slightest hint of scandal attaches to him. A graduate of Yale and Harvard, he is also a lawyer with deep community roots in a community distinguished by a large latino population. In order to calm their fears, he offers his words of defiance. Denver cannot afford a mass panic, because the businesses that rely on these workers would have to shut their doors. Who then would clean the floors at the hospitals, or change the diapers in the nursing homes? The slaughterhouses would shut down. The reality is that the local police cannot enforce immigration laws. Nor can they stand guard on county borders unless it is to enforce a local law. The state can always take control of the police department if there is an issue. The mayor is representing the people of his city and his powers are limited to civic issues.
  19. The VP will do what other former VPs do; Go and sit on the boards of companies, and give speeches. She will be paid millions of dollars. The Democrat party will put winning the midterms above all else and it will bury anyone within the party who interferes with that goal. Some people may have missed, that party had already started cleaning house when several of its embarrassing congresspeople lost their primaries.
  20. There has not been any shift in the pendulum. what we see are manifestations of anger and frustration. It is seen in democracies all over the world. The UK did not go right wing when it gave Boris a massive majority in 2019 any more than the UK having gone left wing woke when it gave Labour a majority in 2024. Voters were looking for stability, integrity and good government. If the voters next turn to another party, it will be because of disgust with labour and not an embrace of another political manifesto. The electorate of the USA did not suddenly embrace right wing extremism with their selection of Donald. Trump. A large core section of voters has always occupied the conservative right wing spectrum. They were never nice people. It has elected politicians like Spiro Agnew and Nixon. There has always been a core group in the Democrat party who embraced idiotic impractical and irresponsible political positions. In between were centrist Americans who wanted someone to listen and who wanted hope. They thought Eisenhower would bring security and peace, when in effect he left Kennedy the nightmare of the Bay of Pigs fiasco, and the foundations of a war in Vietnam. The USA went to the dishonest Kennedy because he delivered the fantasy of Camelot. They went to Reagan, the man who plunged the USA into debt, supported brutal despots and who transacted with drug cartels, because he offered hope and a return to the imagined glory days of the USA. And on an on it goes. The Democrats lost the 2024 presidential election because they lost their way and didn't listen to the people. The voters wanted simple solutions and action on longstanding problems. Trump's election platform answered their demands. The voters will turn on Trump just as they have done on most US presidents. Had Roosevelt not die in office, they would have turned on him too.
  21. There was no scientific study and there was no medical science/health scientist peer review. The Journal has no scientific standing and serves the community of those promoting false claims and who need a vehicle by which to say that their claims are published in a peer reviewed journal. International Journal of Innovative Research in Medical Science is classified as a "predatory" journal. because someone gave a publication a fancy name does not make it reputable. The authors are not reputable scientists. The lead author is a physician's assistant who works in a dermatology clinic. She is not a scientist and is not a physician. James Thorp is the discredited former ObGny who now promotes various potions and health supplements that he claims will promote wellness through the Wellness Company. . Kirstin Cosgrove is not a health scientist and is not associated with any universities or reputable clinical research organizations Peter McCullough is the discredited cardiologist who was closely associated with the Wellness Company. Baylor University Medical Center cut all ties with the man because of his Covid 19 misinformation. The American Board of Internal Medicine recommended that McCullough's board certification be revoked due to his promotion of misinformation about COVID-19 vaccines. Thorp and McCullogh are often listened on "research" claiming to support Covid19 misinformation. These two are not considered reliable, nor ethical.
  22. The indictments were not "bogus". Try as he might, trump never could have the charges dismissed prior to the election. Trump's walking away from the charges comes because of a legal technicality and not because he was not guilty of the charges.
  23. Most everyone pays taxes, even gypsies. That's the beauty of taxes like the VAT. Very hard to escape that. However, the real issue is whether or not the population of the UK pays enough in all taxes to cover the services and benefits that they receive. The answer is no, they do not. Most UK residents are carried by a small minority of hardworking tax payers. The legal population of the UK is 68.35 million of which only 37.4 million pay income taxes and most other taxes. Older people, children, and the disabled can avoid much of the tax burden. It is the biggest self delusion to hear and read when loudmouths berate public officials with comments like "I pay for your salary". The 10% of income taxpayers with the largest incomes contribute over 60% of income tax receipts. The bottom 50% of income earners only contribute 9% of income tax receipts.
  24. When did the ICC deliver its request to Israel for an investigation of the allegations? When did Israel respond to the ICC on the charges, and where is that formal response found amongst the ICC declarations in this case? This is a legal action and there are procedures to follow. Unfortunately, there is also a great deal of political sloganeering that attaches and one must differentiate between political posturing and the actual legal process.
