No need to give up your retirement extensions, you only need to be in country at the time of renewal and there is no minimum period of residence for Immigration purposes, the 180 days is purely and simply for assessing Tax Residency.

What is the problem with the 90 day online? Nothing as far as I can see, submitted at 9:04 am, approval returned at 10:30 am same day (Monday). The hardest bit is sometimes the "captcha".

90 day submitted 9:04 today, approved 10:30. So registering for the new TM30 system did not nullify my existing paper TM30.
