  1. He said from his armchair..... Their deaths will not alter the blockade. And as for 'the only way' - maybe not attacking Israel would work? Just a thought. The blockade was put in place for a reason. In did not come out of nowhere.
  2. This whole concept of 'Egyptian culture of Gaza' is a bit inflated. There differences are not all that great anyway. The 20 years claim would actually undermine your argument, considering both the West Bank and the Gaza Strip have been controlled by Israel for a longer period of time. Regardless, in effect there is no such clear divide as you suggest, at least not in the political sense. Gazans may have a sense of local identity, but it's not like there's some general sentiment that they are a separate people. More like how people from different provinces may feel about things, perhaps.
  3. Two wars fought by Israel in Lebanon, including a siege of Beirut in one, and a destruction of large neighborhood in the other. Just a couple of examples. As for 'what is likely' to happen, that would depend on one's imagination and what one implies.
  4. There are no such sign in all guesthouses, of course. Not in most, not even in many.
  5. US Deploys F-15E Strike Eagles to Jordan: A Move Signifying Military Commitment to Regional Allies https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/us-deploys-f-15e-strike-eagles-to-jordan-a-move-signifying-military-commitment-to-regional-allies/ar-AA1ic52T There are snippets like this all over the news. Aircraft moving here, supply flight there, Blinken hopping all over the ME.
  6. Earlier today, there was this twit (or is an X't nowadays) fromUNRWA (that's the UN agency dealing with Palestinian refugees) complaining the apparent theft of fuel and medical supplies. It was deleted not too long afterwards.... UN refugee agency accuses Hamas of stealing fuel, medications from its Gaza premises https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry/un-agency-accuses-hamas-of-stealing-fuel-medications-from-its-gaza-premises/ Of course, these could have been common thieves using the chaos, but somehow doubt it.
  7. Because mistakes never happen. If they wanted to kill civilians, the death toll would be way higher. If they wanted to kill civilians they could have just let them stay put, as Hamas wishes.
  8. "Yes, those historic Abraham accords look like they're history now." Are they? Was there anything said to this effect? Both Israel's relations with both Egypt and Jordan, both more directly related to the conflict, endured many setbacks like this. The peace agreements stand to this day. The Saudi Arabia thing might be put on hold, or slow burner, yes. But it was not done deal yet, so easier to 'cancel'.
  9. Would rudeness be better? Or maybe hyperbole ? You're at it again - can't address point made (in reply to your post, even), so you for for personal issues etc. If the IDF wanted to massacre the People of Gaza, the casualty figures would be way higher by now. For reference, Hamas killed 1300 Israelis in a single day. The death toll in the Gaza Strip is about double(?) that, but spread over a week. Don't recall many poster on here labeling the Hamas attack as genocide, though.
  10. I'm mildly curious about your emotive, hysterical language as well, as if this was effecting you personally or something?
  11. That's a fine show of cherry-picking, well done. You've managed to not include anything semi-negative about Hamas. Guess the blockade is just there out of spite, then? Nothing to do with Hamas whatsoever?
  12. I answered your questions, patiently even. I have provided answers, which you may not like, but are reasonable and fact based. I have pointed several inaccuracies and so on in your post. You can't handle it, so you shout 'cop out'. I did said 'only', that's your addition. The point was that asking people to evacuate before you bomb them is counterproductive if you wish to carry on a proper genocide.
  13. Some paragraph editing will be appreciated. Not a cop out. I was giving my opinion as to what I think Israeli reasoning is based on, and what are their motivations. It is true that there are clear cases where passage could be granted, but announcing such a move would inevitably result in all semi-applicable cases showing up as well. This would create the same sort of situation Egypt tries to avoid. From a PR point of view, it would be a disaster. I'm not sure if I expanded or explained well enough one of the security issues. Opening the border pass in this manner will require a time window in which the border pass will be manned by Israelis, no Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip. Quite a lot of Israelis to be lumped together on Hamas's front door. Even with ceasefire, trusting Hamas not to for it would be a major gamble. I am not aware that areas designated as 'safe' for evacuees were attacked by the IAF. Not saying it did not happen, but not aware of such. Mistakes can happen on a battle zone, so there's that. But a deliberate attack as you imply? Probably not. Almost all of the casualty figures from Gaza originate from the local ministry of health, controlled by Hamas. In past instances, casualty figure claims were routinely inflated in various ways. When the dust settles, there are usually three differing tallies remaining - the Hamas's, Israel's and the UN's. There are a whole lot of civilian casualties, No one denies the fact. But there is a difference, even if some on here refuse to accept it, between deliberately targeting civilians (as in the Hamas attack) and what Israel does. It might be hard to grasp, but International law does not actually afford civilians full protections from all instances of war. It doesn't make it righteous, pretty or nice, or good. It's how it is. I was answering your questions seriously until I ran into the 'genocide' nonsense now. If what Israel does is indeed a 'genocide' or if Israel had such intentions, than it is going about it in a very half-arsed manner. Genocide would not include a call for civilians to evacuate, then bomb empty buildings.
  14. Deflecting again, blaming the victims again. Classy.
  15. I couldn't care less about what you missed or pretend to miss. And not much respect to the depths you'd go in order so score points on an online forum. Not all deaths are the same. Minimizing murders is a choice.
  16. Oh, do tell how the USA will 'gain control of the middle east oil fields' ? On second thought, don't. It would be more of the same nonsense anyway.
  17. No, Hamas forces went specifically for civilian settlements. The deliberately attacked and abducted civilians. You want to construe a fantasy story about this being some kind of heat of battle accident? Seriously? The Israeli civilians were not legitimate targets. Period. Targeting civilians is not acceptable. The Israeli soldiers were legitimate targets, as enemy combatants can may be targeted. This too, however must be done within certain limits - the atrocities and manner in which some of them were killed are not legit. 'Open prison' is a loaded propaganda phrase. It ignores fact and history to push a narrative. The Gaza Strip was not always under blockade and 'siege' . This came about and as a result of Palestinian attacks, and specifically, Hamas actions and agenda. You wish to deny this, deflect or whatever - go right ahead, would be no surprise. And no, again. Hamas forces are documented attacking the Israeli civilian settlements, killing civilians etc. There was indeed a mob of Gazans which joined in - some were non-elite Hamas forces, some citizens of Gaza. There's enough murders to go around, no worries. Anyway, I'd be careful with this line of reasoning - one Hamas spokesman already tried shifting the blame away from Hamas this way - because it would imply that the good people of Gaza can be held responsible for the attack. That's quite a step from the narrative currently used. What I posted above is documented, and appeared on multiple media outlets. Links all over this topic and others. As if someone wasn't actually aware of them. You do realize that many of the Hamas attackers wore helmet cams, right? A whole lot of them were killed, and the footage is quite incriminating.
  18. Oh, it would be called 'terrorist' for sure - at least by Israel. But I think if carried out without the atrocities witnessed on their attack, it would be legit. At least as far as international law goes. There would definitely be less criticism than now, and it would be easier to frame as 'resistance'.
  19. There only genocide and exterminations going on are in your imagination. If this was either, than it's a pretty snail paced inefficient one, as such things go.
  20. You are making things up. The Palestinian factions cannot even agree on conduct during elections and similar issue. What you offer is a wholesale conspiracy theory. Israel may have had interests in this, sure - but the Palestinians manage their political divide just find without outside help.
  21. The aircraft carriers are there so that things will not go boom on between Israel and the Hezbollah. The situation is already heated, with fire traded and small number of casualties on both sides. Normally, by now Israel would strike there with much greater force. If I got it right the understanding is that Israel will avoid (at least for now) a more massive response in Lebanon, with the USA giving assurance it will have Israel's back in case Hezbollah goes too much out of line. This relates to your first line - that the USA does not want a general regional conflagration.
  22. The words sick and puppy keep coming to me. No idea why. Pictures were shown, shared and distributed. Many media outlets and websites choose not to publish such gruesome horrors (including, I think, this forum). They can be found though searching the net, changing certain preferences if you have them on. I stopped watching after a while. Unless you missed it some cases whole families were slaughtered or abducted. In other cases, some survived and some did not. Other cases people were killed on the way to the Gaza Strip. Many options to choose from. As posted earlier, this specific issue seems to either bring out the worse in some posters or maybe attracts the worst posters. Not that important a distinction, perhaps.
  23. The paragliders were but one aspect of this attack. Israel's intelligence, operational and strategic failures were discussed, in detail, on quite a lot of posts by now. Why come with this out of nowhere as if it's some new info or something?
  24. It doesn't really matter whether them Israeli babies were beheaded, slaughtered, burned alive, shot or whatnot. What does matter is that they are dead. What does matter is that killing them was deliberate. What mattered is that this was planned for months. This was evil. People (and yes, children too) die during wars and military operations. It's only same same if they are intentionally targeted. The people of the Gaza Strip are not. Take it a step further on that scale of evil. Hamas carried out the attack knowing full well the consequences. There was no attempt to do anything to assure the safety of Gazans. In fact, Hamas urges them to stay put and die for the cause (while Hamas leaders are safely in underground bunkers, or having a good time on luxury hotels in the Gulf).
