    Have both private insurance and SS. Private covers my meds, not sure if SS would.

    My monthly meds cost Bt.5600 at my local pharmacy. At Hospital they are free.

    I visit my GP last Sunday of every month. I think half of Thailand is at the hospital, what should a quick visit to the hospital takes at minimum 5 hrs.

    To be honest I do not put much salt into the dribble that comes from many members, Jack of all trades and master of none come to mind. Best to seek out the manufacturers solution first.... is usually quicker, accurate and without nonsense.

    Am also into 3D printing. I run a Ender 5 currently but am designing and building a new one..... not sure why but seemed like a good idea when I started printing bits for it hundreds of hours ago !! Other hobbies include car audio and ridin me pushie.

    Replacement might be exxy. If it were mine I would find a Motor Trimmer and have them remove, recover and reinstall... would fairly cheap. Might even be the Motor Trimmer can repair without removal.

    I'll go out on a limb here and say it is most likely the scooter rider does not even have a licence rendering your idea of a competency test (which I think is a great idea BTW) at renewal time null and void.
