  1. Hire a Thai arborist, yep one of them will sort it out. lol
  2. Not for me. My home in Farangland is Perth, WA, which is probably harder to get in and out of than North Korea. So I'll just wait it out until the WHO declares the pandemic over and both WA & Thailand relax all the tough rules & quarantine. And if that never happens then I guess I'm here until the day I kick the bucket.
  3. They seem to have no idea what zebra crossings are for, just like they seem to have no idea what indicators and brake lights mean. But the gov' is trying. Last time I renewed my Thai DL, about 3 years ago, we had to watch a lengthy road safety movie that dealt with all these issues.
  4. Better to rent. You never know what will happen near you or next to you that will turn your life into a nightmare. And when these situations arise all you can do is move away.
  5. I read that Australia is the only country that still kills the animals on its coat of arms: the kangaroo & the emu, both of which are primarily considered pests and are frequently culled. The current national anthem is absurd. The original lyrics are a total embarrassment to the country today, so there have been several changes through the years removing whole verses and offensive parts. Even in its current shortened form hardly anyone knows the words other than the chorus "Advance Australia fair".
  6. Same goes for Australia (and I suspect most countries in the world) any branches hanging over the fence into your property, you have the legal right to cut back. But whether this law/rule applies in Toon Town I have no idea.
  7. LOL....you beat me to it, I was just about to say exactly the same thing. ????
  8. I've driven my car around NE provinces and to BKK many times in the past 2 years and hardly even seen any police and roadblocks, certainly nothing like there was pre-pandemic. I guess the cops also want to reduce their chances of catching covid and keep their contact with the public to a minimum. Anyway, in all my years driving in Thailand I've never been asked for my passport, only a driving license, and only when I had done something wrong (speeding & overtaking when I shouldn't) usually whenever I got to a roadblock the cops saw a farang and just waved me through.
  9. For over 10 years when I lived in Pattaya and had an agent renew my ret' ext' for me, they always required a photocopy of my bank book, plus they wanted to see the actual bank book. For the past 2-3 years I've been in Korat and renew my annual ext' myself, however, the same applies, Korat want the bank statement, a photocopy of my balance, plus they want to take a look at the actual bank book.
  10. Mind boggling to think we are in the 3rd year of a global pandemic that gets reported on 24/7 on every TV station on the planet, and there is someone who has never heard of PPE.
  11. Sounds like the AC has a leak, it needs proper checking and no doubt some repairs (like fixing a leak or some connections) if it's a very old AC then perhaps it needs replacing. As owner isn't interested you really have 2 options as far as I can see: 1) find a good AC man to come around and do a proper test for leaks, and repair the leaks, and give the AC a complete flush & cleaning, and then re-gas it....you of course will have to pay for this but you'll save on elect bills and will have cold AC. 2) move. If it's an old AC then ask the owner to replace it, which he probably won't do, then you move.
  12. Sure, when you test neg again go out. Many friends of mine in Pattaya have reported testing positive for Omi, they are all vaxed and report they have mild cold symptoms for 3-5 days then they're good to go again.
  13. I watched the vid last night but it may have been shot a day or 2 or 3 earlier. I was just surprised when the video went past TT there were a dozen or more in full PPE and tables set up and I saw them poking around up one guy's snout. I also noticed there were sections cordoned off with tape, like the cops do at crime scenes.
  14. Agree entirely, I wouldn't consider for a second entering any place that did these tests on the doorstep.
  15. I saw this on YT last night, in one of those walk-around-town videos. Thais in full PPE set up outside Tree Town. So I'm just curious how it works. I presume to enter TT you need to give an on-the-spot neg rapid test. I also presume they would be documenting individual details, so you'd need to carry your passport. So what happens if you test positive? Do they grab you there and then and take you away? Do they allow you to go back to your hotel and gather your belongings before being locked up for 2 weeks? What if you test positive and tried to walk away, would they grab you in a half nelson? And are many establishments in Pattaya doing these mandatory tests at the doors?
  16. Self isolate for a week and do RAT tests again until neg. Do not contact any Thai covid center or they come and take you away and charge you 5000 Bt per day for 2 weeks. Tell your GF to shut up and not tell everybody. Hope you have plenty of food at home.
  17. Didn't they give you a record document after getting each shot?
  18. You have to look very carefully at the picture and description of the item on their site. For example if you see a Panosonic camera and buy it, then you're going to have a hard time bitching about receiving a fake after you open the pack and discover that it's not a genuine Panasonic. I've bought several things through Lazada & Shopee and always have fairly lengthy chats about the product with the dealer before biting the bullet. Recently I ordered a pizza stone. My wife received the package and paid COD but when I came home I could tell before opening it that the stone was broken, I could hear it rattling. If I have been there I wouldn't have paid, would have told the delivery man to shove it. But as it turned out the pizza stone was split in 2. I contacted Lazada, they asked for a photo, I sent a photo and a couple weeks later got a full refund. But they didn't want the broken stone returned and it's ok to use, my wife just pushes the 2 pieces together and bingo. So we got it for free.
  19. Dual citizenship/2 PPs is a very common situation. I have UK & Australian PPs. In Thailand I'm on my UK PP. When I used to frequently fly back to Australia prior to the 2020 lockdowns I'd exit Thailand with my UK PP, use the Australian PP to enter Australia (otherwise I'd need to obtain a visa), use it again to depart Australia, then re-enter Thailand with the UK PP because that has my visa & re-entry stamp.
  20. Good point, the cops should have given him another round of thumping for that. ????
  21. Nonsense, it's wonderful stuff, right after your evening shower, after toweling yourself dry, sprinkle copious amounts of this wonder powder on your nuts and the crack of your ass, you'll feel so invigorated, ready for whatever the evening has in store. ????
  22. I use free VeePN for Chrome on my Win 10 laptop. There are a few limitations on the free version but it does the job for me.
  23. They absolutely hate this stuff. It stings their eyes, chokes them, makes them suffer horrible deaths. And it doesn't irritate you or cause you any harm at all. Strip your bed, sprinkle the powder around the mattress, put on new sheets. If you have more little ants try see where their trail is and sprinkle the powder on their trails, if you see any more on the sheets/pillow sprinkle the powder on them.
