Honestly, it is most likely that they have good reason to do so. It's unlikely to get a an order to raid a house on a federal warrant without probable cause. The way things are going for the current administration it won't be long until the republican administration is back in the Whitehouse in any case.

If you decide to stay, the hotel "De Lada" was nice with an infinity pool right on the river. Probably better of just crossing and getting a cheap hotel in Laos. Boring city but good beer and kinda fun change of scenery. Enjoy your trip! Be interesting to see what's new there.

Take a few pictures of them sweeping then it's off to the nap room for some intensive ????. It's very expensive to get a police job in Pattaya. There usually spoiled brats who's parents paid someone to get them out of there hair/house and into this "job".

What type of cost for descent batteries. I would need a much bigger system. Our bills are around 8,000 baht a month. Next house we're planning on building in Hua Hin. I'm going solar for sure. They don't use 2G and 3G is being fazed out. For under 3,000 baht you could get a descent touch screen phone. Have your kids help you. You'll wonder why you never had one before! There indispensable. these days.

You shouldn't have any problem. Perhaps fly into Cambodia then fly or crossover from there. Phnom Penh is pretty fun city! Easy, cheap flights to BKK. Evisa makes it a breeze.
