George Orwell inspired Russian restaurant in Bangkok
Liverpool Lou replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
You’re obviously confused between me and the original poster you ranted at. No, I am not confused, I was responding to your comment that stated that I must support the Russian regime... "Good to see you supporting a regime that launches cruise missiles at innocent women and children and causes massive environmental damage at the behest of its tin pot dictator". -
NOT Here They Ain't.....Every 4 Weeks I Get a Paultry 288.72p GBP Every 4 WEEKS = 3,753.36p GBP Per YEAR,as you get 13 Payments in One Calender YEAR What are you talking about? I said in that comment that state pensions are paid weekly or four-weekly. They are paid every four weeks here. I made no comment about the amount that you receive nor the amount that anyone else receives, rather a comment on someone's maths..

Can we state that tourism in Thailand is "sick"?
Liverpool Lou replied to peter zwart's topic in General Topics
What are those figures that have been published for the period April - July '23? -
Yes. Which ones have banned Russian visitors?
-
No.
-
Nonsense. Most countries have not banned Russian tourists.
-
Neither is he concerned about western countries, including his own, allowing Russian visitors in!
-
But they are not banning ordinary Russians!
-
What are all the other countries (including yours, I'd bet) that permit entry for Russians doing it for?
-
The question has to be asked, do you realise that no countries are going to sanction Thailand for allowing Russian visitors? If that happened all the other countries (i.e. most countries) would have to ban ordinary Russians from entry also. Allowing Russian visitors is not a declaration of "supporting Russian involvement in Ukraine".
-
Thailand is welcoming Russian tourists, just as most countries allow Russian visitors, what is wrong with that?
-
You're stating the obvious, it's a good opportunity for those people to get on the same bandwagon, highlighting an issue for expats I'm going to state the obvious again...the political aspect of UK banks closing accounts of UK residents who are entitled to have those accounts is not comparable, in any way, to the closing of accounts for non-UK residents who are definitely not entitled to UK bank accounts. They'd be jumping on the wrong bandwagon.

You may not like it but they did it and it is all a bit too late now to be pointing out your legal interpretation of the IO actions. IOs have discretion, their job is not to dissuade legitimate tourists from visiting so why would they do that to a genuine tourist?

Didn't you post that you had an overstay previously?
-
Get ... an Elite visa With a previous overstay?
-
With a previous overstay he wouldn't qualify for an Elite visa, he'd be rejected for that also!
-
You thought wrong.

Fly to Vientiane and enter immediately by land using the valid visa. Phuket immigration had no business denying your entry with a valid visa on those grounds. On the contrary, it is 100% their business, IOs have the authority to decide who gets stamped in and, if abuse of a tourist visa is suspected (as in this case) entry can be refused. A valid visa is not a guarantee of entry.
