  1. That's not accurate, I had three successful, substantial, claims on one of the cars I have owned here and Viriyah had no issues with my UK licence that I used after letting my original Thai licence expire years previously.
  2. Why would anyone build a property on the land they can't own. Ask them, not me but it is a legal option that is open to foreigners.
  3. But the masseuse did. It was a masseur, not a masseuse, that's the point of the report!
  4. I'm sorry - where does it say on my post that there are many reports from SCB staff ?? I have looked and can't see it. Are you just making up posts now? Read it again and don't just assume. It was a fairly safe presumption, not an assumption, based on your posting the following, referring to "they" on a thread about SCB... "They are currently offering 1.95 fixed for 2,3, or 4 years with book. Maybe shift to that one. ???? I don't like the online accounts due to the many bad stories you hear regarding bank employees". Who else would you have been reasonably referring to?... Then, in the same paragraph, you indicate your dislike of the staff, you didn't mention any other bank. Read your post again.
  5. In all honesty, you seem to have ignored the fact that she would be an addition to an existing Thai carer and that another in Thailand is actually "exactly what he is looking for".
  6. ...if you plan an expensive heart operation then you can be sure the insurance will check your past records for anything they can use to verify your claim.
  7. Obviously it would, why would anyone ever assume that a deceased person's visa/extension would not be invalidated by their death?
  8. As far as I recall, they made those announcements weeks ago already. Neither Kasikorn nor Bangkok Bank have announced that they are withdrawing non-app, online banking services.
  9. You've heard "many reports" of fraudulent activities by SCB staff? Where?
  10. That rule only applies to condo projects, upto 49% foreign quota Hence his (sarcastic) question.
  11. Depends on what happens regarding the inheritance of the foreigners share, in a legal deal (which these in question are not) the property may not necessarily be put up for sale.
  12. Who cares? They knew what they were doing and, presumably, they'll now have to abide by the law that they were deliberately circumnavigating...maybe they'll lose their illegal property.
  13. It's not beyond the realms of possibility to arrest those foreigners committing offences in this manner. Their illegally obtained land could be confiscated also.
  14. Foreign Quota There isn't a foreign quota for land which is what the OP is about.
  15. "Those poor people who get duped..." Those "poor people" who insist on promulgating false information. Foreigners can own property in Thailand, they cannot own land (apart from some exceptions that do not apply to most foreigners).
  16. Damages? What was damaged? It was clearly a reference to the value of land being put under the control of foreigners, illegally, thus Thailand is the damaged party.
  17. Used watches attract import duty and VAT just the same as new ones do, the CIF value is what Customs are interested in.
  18. When it comes to import duty and VAT it is irrelevant whether the watch is new or used, the duties' calculation is based only on the CIF value of the item.
  19. Except it hadn't been attracting any attention at all from the IO's for the previous 10 years. She was the first which statistically makes her the outlier. Except that she definitely is not the first IO to raise that subject, it may be the first time that it's been an issue with you but it has been a frequent IO comment for a long time, she is not an outlier for mentioning it. The last few years have been tainted with Covid procedures so they are hardly representative and before that is a long time ago, a period in which regulations can easily change, to expect what happened 10 years ago to still be in force now is a little unrealistic.
  20. Bangkok Bank has never limited me to that sum. You sure? - this must be very new. It's not a limit on incoming funds unilaterally imposed by BBL generally, no banks do that, it is a limit on incoming transfers effected through Wise to BBL accounts.
  21. ""Up to 5 years" in this case means that they can not sentence a person to any prison time". No, that is not what it means! "Up to five years" means that they can give prison sentences of up to five years.
  22. You could just read the article and see what actually was the case.
