  1. She was a social worker, not a rocket scientist.
  2. In most cases of normal, everyday policies, that can be done in 10 minutes, it does not take two hours of reading.
  3. Nonsense. By law, insurer's cannot hide policy conditions in "the fine print", something that doesn't exist in insurance policies, never mind being there in large volumes. All policy holders are told to check the conditions of the policy.
  4. Once again an AN poster who cannot read. She was not the rider and she was wearing a helmet (they do not prevent facial injuries).
  5. You know that this accident was a foreigner's fault when he lost control of the scooter, yes? How could Thailand change that?
  6. Yes, those social workers and the way that they're forced to become social workers. The statutory minimum 5.6 weeks' holiday isn't enough for a healthy, young woman?
  7. She wasn't the rider, and how do you know that the rider doesn't have a licence?
  8. The broken back may be an issue for travelling.
  9. She was also quoted as saying that there was "blood coming from every orifice". Albeit, severely injured, she's, clearly, a woman with a propensity for exaggeration.
  10. Her boyfriend. I'm wondering why no one, so far, has apportioned any blame to him as the rider, rather than blaming Thailand and it's road safety record?
  11. I reckon you should read the OP links.
  12. Considering that 99% of visitors do not have motorbike accident problems, why should that Embassies get involved with directions such as that?
  13. do the 20baht specials really count as a helmet tho? Helmets can be bought for B20, now?
  14. Do non-fullface helmets, as most are, protect the face when a person is heading face down to the tarmac at scooter speed? Do "good" helmet that are not fullface protect the face, then?
  15. No, your original post was absolutely specific, not "generic", you referred to "she".
  16. As a passenger, why should she?
  17. You think pillion riders need a driving licence?
  18. Old visa information is entered in new UK passports, I know this because my current passport has the first page-and-a-bit filled with the old visa details, courtesy of Immigration.
  19. That's odd, when my UK passport was renewed the Thai visa information was transferred into the new one so that I did not have to carry both.
  20. Passport about to expire. You omitted the "not" from the title!
  21. Why not ask the dealer?
  22. Ooooh! Touched a nerve, eh?
  23. What do drinkers think? Oh, that's right, they don't. Find a "drinker" and ask him.
