  1. "...health officials are not recommending passengers on the plane seek medical care because their risk of being infected with tuberculosis is "very, very low," said Dr. Rebecca Sunshine, disease control director for Maricopa County Public Health. To put this in perspective... We're much more concerned that the passengers on this flight contracted influenza than that they contracted TB," she said". https://edition.cnn.com/2013/12/02/health/tuberculosis-us-airways/index.html "According to the WHO, no active TB case has been identified due to exposure on a commercial aircraft so far. This is because airplanes are built with HEPA (High-Efficiency Particulate Air) filter systems on board which kill germs when air is circulated in the aircraft. Travellers can rest assured that under normal conditions, cabin air is cleaner than the air in most buildings". https://www.iamat.org/travel-and-tuberculosis
  2. Them's part of the rules. There's a lot more to the rules than you conveniently quoted!
  3. Why shouldn't he? The OP has paid NIC for many years before coming here. Do UK resident citizens who stop paying NIC and income tax in the UK lose their right to NHS treatment?
  4. Yes, plenty of others confirming how low the risk is. From your own link... 6. "Strictly forbidden" by whom? Think you'll find that's an advisory. Are passengers checked for TB before check-in?
  7. He will definitely be asked for his address and which GP he's registered with.
  8. Maybe he paid NIC for 30 years before he came here?
  9. Not sure...off a local for sure Why "a local"? How do you know it wasn't from a foreigner?
  10. "Suggestions for Topic Titles and Script: Both of which will help my posted topics reach 50K, rather than my low hundreds. Thank you". A little less brevity in your titles.
  11. I'd suggest that you post better topics, better titles, better content and better delivery, "ect" [sic]! ...only kidding...
  12. What ATM holds anywhere near that? Anywhere near what? You think that ATMs don't hold B50k?
  13. Bangkok Bank for one, probably all the others too. Mine limit is B500,000 per day by ATM withdrawals. The restriction is on the amount that can be taken per withdrawal, B30k.
  14. "the Immigration Officer asked me to draw a map from the Immigration Office to my home". Not unusual and not a big deal to comply with. "Just to make sure they were certain that I knew exactly where I lived I named every village and suburb between the Office and my home and showed every 7/11, market and Supermarket on the map". You think that your childish mocking of Immigration's requirements was clever or that they found it amusing?
  15. Yeah the dealer gets a slice of the interest, thats why they give discounts to people not paying cash. Blind Freddy can see this. My point was that finance commission is not an "ongoing" income for the dealer, it's a one-off payment per deal. And, depending on the arrangement that the dealer has with the finance companies, that commission can be clawed back if the finance is settled early or the loan becomes delinquent. Blind Freddy does not always see that.
  16. The words are not in parentheses, they're in inverted commas (quotation marks) and that is the normal way to indicate that those words were specifically spoken, i.e they indicate quotes and do not, in this context, suggest anything else.
  17. A 33-year-old man who fell into an asphalt tank in Thailand was miraculously pulled out alive. Sarawut was working at an asphalt factory in the province of Nong Bua Lamphu when he heard a loud explosion. The huge blast blew the tank's cover away, so the worker decided to climb up a 16-foot-high container to inspect the damage, but accidentally fell through the opening. The footage, which was filmed on November 12, shows the rescue team pulling out the man from the tank. Sarawut 's body is completely covered in sticky, black asphalt. Rescuers rushed to the scene after receiving a call from the man’s wife and one of his colleagues. They placed Sarawut on a stretcher and hoisted him up using a crane. Sarawut’s wife, May, said: "I’m not sure how he fell into the tank. After seeing him trapped down there, his colleague and I contacted the Rassamee Maneerat rescue team for help". The man miraculously survived the incident but reported a head injury and two broken arms. According to the rescue team, the tank didn't contain a large amount of asphalt. This prevented Sarawut from drowning. Police are now looking into the incident. It appears that the explosion might have been caused by air pressure build-up inside the tank. 18. Finance provided by a bank/finance company is a one-off "earner", per deal, for the dealer. The finance company makes a commission payment to the dealer, equivalent to a percentage of the total interest charged to the borrower for the finance agreement (in addition to the amount borrowed to purchase the vehicle, obviously).
  19. That is not "the problem" with health insurance and "we all" do not "know it". You really need to back up your allegation with some specifics
  20. And every unjustifiable denial of a claim is bad publicity, that is why they are few and far between. Insurers are not there to ensure that policy holders read the policy and agree to the conditions thereof that they, the policy holders, confirm they have read!
