  1. That REDUX quote you linked was from 05 FEB -- as to being OK, it seems OK to him.
  2. It isn't all I remember although I left NYC in 1980. If you want to say that at any point I felt that this guy should never President -- even though until NOV 2016 that wasn't anything I was to seriously consider -- then nothing has changed only more so.
  3. Like I said they left it out -- but if the outside agitator was from NY after a few syllables, everyone would know.
  4. "what ya can't see can't hurt ya"
  5. Argyle From NY Post Published June 1, 2025, 10:57 a.m. ET GOP Sen. Joni Ernst gives mock apology to lefty critics for acknowledging ‘we all are going to die’ during Medicaid argument Iowa GOP Sen. Joni Ernst has delivered a backhanded apology for acknowledging everyone dies during a town hall that included frustration over Trump Medicaid reforms. “A woman who was extremely distraught screamed out from the back corner of the auditorium, ‘People are going to die!’ Ernst also ripped into the “hysteria that’s out there coming from the left” over the blowback to her comments about death. https://nypost.com/2025/06/01/us-news/gop-sen-joni-ernst-gives-mock-apology-to-lefty-critics-for-acknowledging-everyone-dies/ __________________ But the NY Post let out the part that the 'the extremely distraught woman' was a paid out side agitator maybe from New Yawk.
  6. Transcript of Ernst apology from DesMoines Register: "Hello everyone. I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely apologize for a statement that I made yesterday at my town hall," she began, before describing the incident. "I made an incorrect assumption that everyone in the auditorium understood that yes, we are all going to perish from this Earth," she said. "So I apologize. And I’m really, really glad that I did not have to bring up the subject of the tooth fairy as well. "But for those that would like to see eternal and everlasting life, I encourage you to embrace my lord and savior, Jesus Christ," she added. https://www.desmoinesregister.com/story/news/politics/2025/05/31/iowa-sen-joni-ernst-posts-sarcastic-apology-after-viral-medicaid-comments-we-all-are-going-to-die/83967492007/
  7. Well not to get into a who's-on-first argument, I lived in mid-town Manhattan late 1970's when Donald Trump was becoming The-Donald. His first forays into the political realm were his editorial on the 1989 Central Park 5 and the approx. 2012 Obama birth issue. But he really showed much of what he would try to do later in the 1990 Playboy interview. I pretty much looked on his 2016 Presidential run as a publicity stunt. I underestimated him as did many others -- and I don't do so now.
  8. This is a quality-of-life topic from someone who is averaging about 2000 posts per month since joining AN 6 FEB (this year).
  9. It doesn't fit the narrative Trump haters live and breathe for....they can't answer any question unless it starts with "Oh yeah, but Trump blah, blah, blah". Amazing the amount of rent free space President Trump lives in their heads. And some like to ask questions like: Of those paid Democratic shills that WERE in the meeting, what color socks were they wearing?
  10. And what I have stated on this topic multiple times a significant amount of what you call anti-Trump derangement is going to start coming from the libertarian right, not the left.
  11. The guy yelling "People are going to die" during Senator Ernst's town hall reminds of the 2009 yell in a similar republican town hall meeting: “Keep your government hands off my Medicare,” by a speaker at a town hall meeting in Simpsonville, S.C., in July on the government-created Medicare program.
  12. To Mr. Trump: While paying close attention to the activists or judges leftie, maybe pay better attention to those on the right Trump writes on TruthSocial: . Where do these initial three (CIT) Judges come from? How is it possible for them to have potentially done such damage to the United States of America? Is it purely a hatred of “TRUMP?” What other reason could it be? Of the 3 judges, one was appointed by Reagan and HE appointed the other Republican.
  13. Trump complained MAY 30 on TruthSocial.com that some of his Judicial appointments from his first term are actually voting AGAINST him. The NERVE! and all some of you guys on here still want to talk about is Whatabout Hunter's laptop, HUH?
  14. You mean these 'pathetic' people? In a reversal, Trump bashes Catholic conservative activist Leonard Leo President Donald Trump lambasted prominent conservative mega donor and Catholic, Leonard Leo, calling him a "sleazebag" and accusing Leo's Federalist Society of giving him “bad advice” on some judicial nominations. The attack marks a notable and unexpected shift in the president's relationship with Leo. Trump particularly turned to Leo, along with the Federalist Society, a conservative and libertarian organization focused on the legal system that Leo co-chairs, for recommendations on judicial appointments. The most prominent of those were Supreme Court justices Neil Gorsuch, Amy Coney Barrett and Brett Kavanaugh, all of whom Trump appointed to the court during his first term in office. https://www.ncronline.org/news/reversal-trump-bashes-catholic-conservative-activist-leonard-leo
  15. The Times (UK) 29 MAY via https://archive.ph/aFlK4#selection-1647.0-1679.262 Trump plots Supreme Court fight on tariff ruling by ‘activist judges’ The president has won a temporary Appeal Court stay on the judges’ decision that ‘liberation day’ levies were unlawful, and will now challenge the District Court \ “Ultimately the Supreme Court must put an end to this, for the sake of our constitution and our country,” Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary, said on Thursday. “Three judges of the US Court of International Trade … brazenly abused their judicial power to usurp the authority of President Trump, to stop him from carrying out the mandate that the American people gave him.” Leavitt said she was confident the president would triumph in the courtroom. “We’re going to fight them in court, and we’re going to win on the merits of these cases because we know we are acting within the president’s legal and executive authorities,” she said.
  16. While Trump on Truth Social has complained of left wing activist judges, much of the current opposition on tariff cases is from right wing / libertarian interests who are and have for years been against the expansion of executive powers that they at least feel are properly the venue of congress. Headline 29MAY WSJ Editorial Board: President Trump Isn’t a Tariff King A sweeping trade court ruling puts the executive in his proper constitutional place. WSJ Headline 31 MAY Trump Championed Rulings That Are Now Being Used to Check His Power In tariff case and others, courts are finding the president’s expansive view of executive authority clashes with decisions that limit its reach
  17. Trump cited a law called the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) as the legal authority for his tariffs. The IEEPA requires the declaration of an "unusual and extraordinary" threat. They asked Hamilton whether there are any limits of a president's tariff power. "We have a national shortage of peanut butter. Can the president declare an extraordinary emergency?" U.S. District Judge Jane Restani * asked. "What you're saying is there's no limit." https://www.reuters.com/world/us/us-court-weigh-small-business-bid-block-trump-tariffs-2025-05-13/ * NB Ms. Restani is the President Reagan appointee.
  18. While fielding questions from reporters in the Oval Office on Wednesday, Trump was asked for his reaction to the now-viral Wall Street jab. "Oh, I chicken out? Isn't that nice? I've never heard that," Trump said. "You call that chickening out?" Trump asked, appearing visibly agitated by the question, which he called "nasty." "Don't ever say what you said," Trump told the reporter. "That's a nasty question." https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/trump-lashes-viral-taco-trade-meme-stand/story?id=122323324
  19. And for those who do not follow the apt reference in the OP:
  20. The ruling by the U.S. Court of International Trade is so wrong, and so political! Hopefully, the Supreme Court will reverse this horrible, Country threatening decision, QUICKLY and DECISIVELY. Radical Left Judges, together with some very bad people, are destroying America. Under this decision, Trillions of Dollars would be lost by our Country, money that will, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN. The President of the United States must be allowed to protect America against those that are doing it Economic and Financial harm. https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/114593880455063168
  21. (Speaker) Johnson added that Congress must pass the package by July 4, especially given the mid-July "deadline" to address the debt limit to avoid a default.
  22. So if the person who yelled out from the audience was a local Democratic, maybe he was a shill but not a paid outside shill, or in the now common parlance, a disrupter.
  23. According to the NY Times, Sen. Ernst's comment was in response to someone yelling from the audience "People are going to die" following some of the Senator's comments on Medicare/Medicaid. -- doesn't say who was that person.
