Really the next big event here -- well before any, if any, jury trial -- is 08AUG23 when the Trump defense gets to submit motions including almost certainly a motion to have the whole case thrown out.

As noted on a parallel topic, the Trump defense will have until AUG 08 to submit their motions -- one of which, according to the legal buzz, will be a motion for summary dismissal of all charges. Prosecution will have until SEP19 to respond; the Judge will rule 04 DEC.

I guess that is part of why I enjoyed living in KK -- I grew out of the need for good chats in English. When I first arrived, I had no transport and walked/songthaew/tuktuk to get around. I used to go to some of the farang bars near the then Sofitel. But I didn't smoke, I didn't drink, and I knew nothing about footie, so pretty soon I stopped going.

While KK and Isaan may have the lowest per capita income, that doesn't mean there are not pockets of extreme wealth e.g. the BMW dealership near KK University. So many young girls, who might otherwise go to the tourist area, don't have to.

I think -- should this ever get that far -- the problem for the defense and prosecution would be finding persons who DON'T want be on the jury.
