  1. The Project 2025 authors are all highly credible PhD academics and law school professors many who served in the prior Trump and other Republican administrations. As such the Heritage group served as the 'farm team' for those while out of office and awaiting (hopefully) a new office. That is all I have ever said nor something I thought I "got".
  2. The 2025 Presidential Transition Project is the conservative movement’s unified effort to be ready for the next conservative Administration to govern at 12:00 noon, January 20, 2025. Project 2025 page 14
  3. About which you haven't the slightest idea, which I suppose is an excuse for playing more scary music. Now if you did, what difference do you know it would make, except as a reason to blow more hot air? Appointment of Tom Homan to “Border Czar” First Step in Move Toward Project 2025 Administration WASHINGTON, DC – Last night, President-elect Donald Trump announced that Project 2025 contributor Tom Homan will serve as the “border czar” in his incoming administration. Homan, who previously served in the first Trump administration as acting director of ICE, also contributed to the controversial GOP playbook, Project 2025. https://accountable.us/trump-already-breaks-promise-and-taps-project-2025-contributor-to-key-role-in-administration/

  5. I guess so but that post was before he was elected. The times and I were both different, but I can also remember 1972 when Nixon was re-elected. Say what?
  6. OK. REDUX take 2: Pre-Covid maybe 2019 I was in a BigC when I had a brief chat with an older Brit. He asked me what I thought of then President Trump. I said I didn't vote for him in 2016 and won't vote for him in 2020. But he IS the President for now and, wishing him any failure for political gain, is for fools. So I hope Trump is not again elected, but, if he is, I will just as above hope for the best for the country.
  7. OK. Was looking for "Kristi" before posting.
  8. Trump picks South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem to head Homeland Security Department per UsaToday
  9. No. As someone living in Thailand full time, I had no idea in 2016 to the extent people in US felt disenfranchised and disaffected such that Trump won. This year I am not so surprised Per Willie Nelson in Electric Horseman: Wendall : I'm gonna get me a bottle of tequila and find me one of them Keno girls that can suck the chrome off a trailer hitch and just kinda kick back.
  10. With apologies to Reinhold Niebuhr: Give me the wisdom to know what can be changed, and the wisdom to know what can't be changed and screw the rest.
  11. There is also a (parliamentary) term 'Loyal Opposition"
  12. What are you talking about? Which claims did I make? 😀 Says a guy who joined AN 2 weeks ago.
  13. With both the civil fraud /James case and the criminal 'hush money' / Bragg case of the 34 convictions, I was critical on here that the cases were ill advised and only could say so as there were not plenty of otherwise left-leaning legal scholars and former prosecutors who had problems with the case itself, whether it should've been brought or not. e.g. January 30, 2024 (per the NY State civil fraud trial) An Associated Press analysis of nearly 70 years of civil cases under the law showed that such a penalty has only been imposed a dozen previous times, and Trump’s case stands apart in a significant way: It’s the only big business found that was threatened with a shutdown without a showing of obvious victims and major losses. https://apnews.com/article/trump-fraud-business-law-courts-banks-lending-punishment-2ee9e509a28c24d0cda92da2f9a9b689
  14. So I don't have to wait 6 months before I shut up. Thanks. But if a guy wants to "prices might go down" to which I originally replied, he doesn't have to wait 6 months. Now is ok.
  15. It was a useless answer to your useless question
  16. Exactly? They are not exact. Inflation has 9 letters and fascism only 7.
  17. What Donald Trump’s Win Means For Inflation November 11, 2024 3:08 PM EST Donald Trump may have won the presidency partly because voters were fed up with inflation. But if he enacts many of the policies he proposed on the campaign trail, voters may see prices continue to rise, according to economists, analysts, and business owners. “There’s a lot of inflationary pressure in his promises,” says Simon Johnson, one of the 2024 winners of the Nobel Prize in Economics and a professor at MIT’s Sloan School of Business. Put together, economists say his proposals could drive up the costs of apparel, toys, appliances, and food. https://time.com/7175083/donald-trump-presidency-inflation/
  18. Thank you, Steven Cheung -- it's been a pleasure.
  19. I haven't tried and it really makes no difference. The only operative thing is the extent to which contributors to the Project will be in the new administration. It's no secret. And they are entitled to serve if chosen and in some cases confirmed by the Senate.
  20. Since as noted above approximately 140 of the contributors to the Project 2025 doc served in the prior Trump administration and would likely be considered for the new administration, I don't see that anything has been refuted. The election is over. Trump won. Harris lost. Now comes the small matter of running the government.
  21. No I commented on this back in April 2024 https://aseannow.com/topic/1325922-why-the-hush-money-case-against-donald-trump-is-on-shaky-ground/page/3/#comment-18873251
  22. I was just replying to the post above that Trump never-heard-of Project 2025. JD Vance wrote the Foreward to the 2023 version: Ohio Sen. JD Vance, Donald Trump’s running mate, praised the vision of Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts in the foreword of a forthcoming book that could conflict with the Trump campaign’s effort to distance itself from Heritage’s Project 2025 transition effort. https://apnews.com/article/jd-vance-foreword-heritage-foundation-project-2025-a34d091fd401056c938c8897c1ebabd6 However the current version on the Heritage Foundation website has a forward by Kevin Roberts with no mention of Vance, anywhere.
  23. Trump claims not to know who is behind Project 2025. A CNN review found at least 140 people who worked for him are involved Updated 2:45 PM EDT, Thu July 11, 2024 Donald Trump has lately made clear he wants little to do with Project 2025, the conservative blueprint for the next Republican president that has attracted considerable blowback in his race for the White House. “I have no idea who is behind it,” the former president recently claimed on social media. Many people Trump knows quite well are behind it. Six of his former Cabinet secretaries helped write or collaborated on the 900-page playbook for a second Trump term published by the Heritage Foundation. https://edition.cnn.com/2024/07/11/politics/trump-allies-project-2025/index.html
