  1. Just a quick look at the California case and it seems alike the case filed in Pensacola FL with the backing of big buck conservatives.
  2. If the mortgage fraud charges as suggested in the OP should ever proceed, the 2 possible jurisdictions would be either NY city or Norfolk County, VA which was solid blue for Harris 2024. There was a comment different topic about doing a trial in Montana or rural Texas. Just to note that the 'venue shopping' you hear and read about is almost exclusively regarding civil actions -- not criminal -- as with the current challenges to Trump's smorgasbord of executive orders.
  3. No. The criminal indictment of Trump was by a grand jury. The AG's power as re: the NY DA is when for some reason the DA needs to be replaced while the elected term is still current. As far as Judge Engoron's bench verdict: Massive civil fraud verdict against Trump gets frosty reception at New York appeals court A panel of judges voiced skepticism about the size and validity of the nearly half-billion-dollar judgment. 09/26/2024 06:42 PM EDT NEW YORK — Appeals court judges appeared to question the legitimacy of the civil fraud case against Donald Trump as the former president urged the court Thursday to overturn a judgment against him that has ballooned, with interest, to more than $478 million. https://www.politico.com/news/2024/03/25/trump-no-longer-needs-to-post-full-454m-bond-in-civil-fraud-case-court-rules-00148815 https://eddsa.blob.core.usgovcloudapi.net/public/2024_01134_PEOPLE_OF_THE_STATE_OF_v_PEOPLE_OF_THE_STATE_OF_ORDER_21.pdf
  4. James did not prosecute Trump. The fraud trial was a civil action bench trial / no jury. The prosecution of Trump in NY was done by NY DA Alvin Bragg resulting in the 34 felony varieties.
  5. Just reading from similar reports the title of the article in the OP may be better stated as: ‘Massive Numbers’: Trump’s Economic Agenda Sparks $7 Trillion In -- PLEDGED --Investment
  6. Ms. Leavitt makes me think of Republican National Committee Co-Chair Anne Armstrong introducing Sammy Davis, Jr. at the 1972 Republican convention in Miami: ... And it was so wonderful what your people did -- coming over here to help build America.
  7. 03 APR 2025 White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said President Trump’s tariffs won’t lead to “pain” for U.S. workers or American-owned businesses amid concern after “Liberation Day.” “There’s not going to be any pain for American-owned companies and American workers, because their jobs are going to come back home, and again, as for prices, President Trump is working on tax cuts to put more money back into the pockets of Americans,” Leavitt said. https://thehill.com/business/5231298-leavitt-trump-tariffs-american-owned-businesses-us-workers/
  8. March 25, 2025 headline Washington Post: In Karoline Leavitt’s world, Trump’s word is enough The White House press secretary is shaming some members of the Washington media and fielding softballs from others — all with a self-assured smile.
  9. Of course making a payment to an agent to obtain a requirements waiver to get a retirement extension is illegal. If it were legal, you wouldn't need an agent.
  10. Jack Smith was able to get a Federal Grand jury in Washington DC to indict former President Trump on criminal charges. As the jurisdiction for almost all the 'revenge crimes' will be in Washington DC, it might not be so easy for the current DoJ to get similar grand jury indictments against Trump's erstwhile opponents in the overly Democratic venue.
  11. A NY Times article 2 days ago on the precariousness of the bond market ended with this: All of which leaves the world in a bewildering place. The old sanctuary (US Bond market) no longer seems so safe. Yet no other place looks immediately capable of standing in.
  12. Rightly or wrongly, when a career prosecutor who was a law clerk for Antonin Scalia thinks so, that cannot be dismissed as your typical left-wing lawfare.
  13. Seems there have been plenty enough resignations already especially in the Dept. of Justice for persons being asked to do something they considered unlawful
  14. Ms. James will be up for re-election as NY State attorney general in a state-wide election in NOV 2026.
  15. It was a bench trial -- no jury. And while the 'no victims' argument may hacve swayed Engoron, the appeals courts might have looked at it differently.
  16. That the case was a dud has nothing to do with anything in OP. It was always a dud. And while there may never be any legal action against Ms. James in the OP, Ms. James may be in for a whole lot of adverse publicity of her own doing.
  17. This is the Oath of Office for US attorney general: A. OATH OF OFFICE I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God. -- Not a lot of wiggle room to say you know something is wrong if not unlawful but you support it anyway 'Cause He's the Boss
  18. You can go to this page below from FEB 2024 where I was taking the heat for presenting the case that that the Ms. James case against Mr. Trump was a real dud. So Ms. James will get little sympathy at least from me. As the Brits would say 'Own Goal'. https://aseannow.com/topic/1320175-judge-orders-trump-and-companies-to-pay-nearly-355-million-in-civil-fraud-trial/page/22/ .
  19. Until you turn your back to walk away and they dump a bucket of water on you from behind -- my experience after I just wanted to go out for a walk during SongKran following knee surgery. That was my experience one year. Broke my glasses.
  20. It goes down or not goes down -- any time anyone mentions a wife in Thailand you go into your fake-wife, cuckold , just her brother, shafted, dragging the wife around routine.
  21. REDUX From Sir Alfred Hitchcock's North by Northwest (1959) -- Cary Grant as Thornhill: Roger Thornhill: How do we know it's not a fake? It looks like a fake. Bidder: Well, one thing we know. You're no fake. You are a genuine idiot.
  22. OR ... The Apprentice was created by British television producer Mark Burnett, and co-produced with Donald Trump, who was the show's host for the first fourteen seasons. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Apprentice_(American_TV_series)
