Giving 1 star to a restaurant in Muang Kao.
Woof999 replied to Kwasaki's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I know where you're coming from but that makes review systems pointless. -
There's a well established lawyers' office in the Pattaya area that has been advertising short / medium term loans against property for the past year or so. I've no idea of the rates involved and I'd be highly skeptical of such, but perhaps there is similar in Bangkok? PM me if you want to know the Pattaya company. I'm not involved with them in any way although I know one of the directors vaguely. In other words, don't take this as a recommendation.

Hard to disagree with that as things stand today. Continue the upward trend in our ability to apply science and it might not stay that way for too long. If you take that statement as is it's too easy to compare the electrical impulses in the brain to those in an integrated circuit. We are nowhere near being able to emulate the power of a human brain, and so we are nowhere near fully understanding, but we are getting closer. Go back just 50 years and the processors of today might have been considered "god-like" back then. It's all a matter or perspective. God as written in the bible.... I'd be happy to place a bet today. god as in anything that could be considered a higher power.... I totally agree that I can neither prove nor disprove. However I can use my understanding and consciousness to believe one way or the other in the same way as you can, and we can be diametrically opposed in those beliefs. I'm fine with that too. Take out the words "intelligent designs" and I'd 100% agree. That's the crux of the argument though. What you believe must have been an intelligent design, I believe could have other origins. I'd agree. It would also be a mistake to assume an alternative too if you said it was fact. I guess the summary is, without 100% proof, nobody here can claim that anyone's belief is wrong. When that belief is mainly based on other beliefs that are just as "out of this world" then, at that point I'd start calling them fairy tales. I'm not including you in that category.

Another poster has said that their god kept assembling things until something worked. That's a combination of both a higher being and chance. Others say it was god willing everything into existence (so no chance involved at all). Science tries to find answers. Over the timescale of human existence, sciences' known, provable discoveries have mostly been very recent and they mostly go against the likelihood of the existence of an all powerful god. However, that depends on your definition of god. To say that intelligence cannot come from matter is equally as closed minded as the opposite. Right now it is not provable either way, but with new knowledge, the trend away from what most people have defined as god is pretty clear. To not believe in god is extrapolating that trend. It could be wrong, but right now it is not provable either way. I would be delighted if a breakthrough moment in science (or any other field) led us to prove that a god (a higher intelligence that caused the whole universe to be) existed. I would be equally delighted if it proved the opposite. I love to learn, to gain knowledge. Not knowing exactly where that knowledge will take me is all part of the enjoyment. Others assume that this journey of mine has never included anything that might be termed spiritual or faith based. More fool them. In other words, I'm not looking for evidence to only support what I currently believe. It's just that with the knowledge I have today, the answer to the OPs question remains no. The answer could change. I'm not sure that all posters here could say the same. Rather their definition of what god is might change.

M12 x 1.25. where to find ?
Woof999 replied to skippybangkok's topic in Sports, Hobbies & Activities
That's M12 fine thread. Just search M12 1.25 on Lazada. Here's a start for a 100mm bolt. https://www.lazada.co.th/products/m12-125-100-150-12-88-i3891538914-s14928452028.html -
205 is the width of the tyre in millimetres. 60 is the "profile" of the tyre as a percentage of it's width. ie it's how tall the tyre walls are compared to the width. Yours are 60%, so the tyre wall should be 205*0.6 = 123mm tall. R means they are radial tyres, like pretty much all car tyres have been for decades now unless you go very specialised or very cheap. 16 is the diameter of the wheel they are going on in inches. Interesting that tyres use both metric and imperial in their size descriptions.

Using the same logic, neither people's gods nor anything else can stop us killing each other at the moment either, so why would anyone assume that god was capable of creating all that is?

Older brother of a school friend had the SD1 Vitesse. Lovely car at the time. Sounded amazing. I believe my 1998 TVR Chimera used the same V8 block?

This thread is worthless without photos. -
This whole thread is about a supernatural being with supernatural powers. You appear to know many things that I would disagree with. You did? That is your opinion. I Googled "has anyone else spoken to jane roberts seth" and visited one of the very first sites in the first page of the results. The comments I quoted were at the top of the first page, something you would know if you'd done any research, which is exactly what you seem to be accusing me and others of not doing. Rather ironic. That was not my first thought. If they pay more than $175k per annum then please pass on their details, but I would need to work remotely and maybe get a work permit? I thought the "Have a great day." ending to my previous post might at least calm you. Have a great day.

Press honors dozens of Thai cops who "hid their light under a bushel"
Woof999 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Some of us are quick to knock the BiB. Among these being honoured I'm sure there are some that really did go the extra mile, even by our differing standards. In the face of having to work alongside those that would do otherwise, perhaps their awards are deserved. -
Please let me get this straight. On a post asking if people believe in supernatural powers, you're asking me to disprove that Jane Roberts' ouija board relationship with a real entity called Seth was in fact something else? I'll get round to that once I disprove the existence of elves in my quest to disprove the existence of unicorns. ...but where is Seth. has there been any more contact since Jane Roberts? According to this site: It's on the internet so it must be real we have these gems: "About 20 years ago, I took an 8 week meditation course. Every week we worked on meeting our spirit guide. He starting out just as a ball of loving energy and each week more details were revealed until I had a clear picture of him. He has been with me ever since, mostly in the background but I always feel him" from Complexnatural. "I had a dream a long long time ago where I was attending a party on a New-York rooftop with other people. There was a man there and he was purple(ish) but it was Seth." from ENIAD. "For the past 2 years I have had frequent dream contact with a faculty member, a teacher, from Seth’s greater pyramid energy gestalt, the gestalt that was responsible for Jane’s Seth and Seth Two." from ron I don't often dream, have rarely meditated and have never used a ouija board (13 years less than you), I guess that's why I'm not seeing the world as it really is. Why would you assume that the subject of this thread is a new idea to me? Why would you assume that my position on the same has not changed over the decades in which I've been aware of it? Admittedly, some of the ideas brought up here are new to me. The use of a ouija board to put me on the right track isn't something I'd considered. In all seriousness, if I must discover and believe in the existence of a Seth to understand your absolute certainty that there is a god, then I will continue to fail, even if Jane's ramblings from Seth are archived at Yale and most certainly if "some" say it's among the most visited documents. Not to say that I don't believe that you believe, but there is little point in us discussing further. Have a great day.

Really? There you go again with your demands for evidence while you ignore calls for the same. You are starting to come across as someone who sees themselves as a higher intellect than others and struggles to keep that belief out of their ramblings. Is that you?

"Envious" Pit Bull called Nazi attacks - owner left in a pool of blood
Woof999 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
To find Nazi, did the police have to enter the house and turn third right? -
I'll come back to that. How is one supposed to recreate after death? Smart choices and intellect are prized assets by the fairer sex. If you have more opportunity to recreate, you contribute far more to the ongoing gene pool. Or perhaps just an assumption? Indeed. Seth came to Jane Roberts during an ouija board session. What was that earlier about nothing religious and not believing in fairy tales? I agree that they are not the same. Jane was a human and Seth was a figment of her imagination. Now you're using a Seth quote as if it's established fact. If you insist on quoting a paranormal entity in your quest to prove the existence of a supernatural entity then I'd rather you didn't worry about the forthcoming series.

Aha thank you very much. I literally live just down the road.

On a lighthearted note, this would be a good starting point: Darwin Awards You've also asked for facts or evidence on the evolution of species. Look up "speciation". Perhaps start here: Speciation Out of interest, what term do you use? On many points yes. It came from my education. What are your beliefs based on? What you see all around and others don't because they don't want to? I'm just a layman and don't claim to be anything else. What are your credentials that would lead me or anyone else to lend more weight to your arguments above scientists who have studied the subjects for decades? There are points? What's the current score and who is awarding the points? For which specific points in evolution? It is believed that primitive life began on Earth within a few hundred million years of its formation. That would have been about 4 billion years ago. (I misquoted 14 billion and am happy to admit it). Homo Sapiens likely arrived around 300,000 years ago, quite probably evolving from Homo Heidelbergensis, from which Neanderthals also likely evolved. The timescales are extended, if you insist that I be more specific, I'd take a stab at quarter past three in the afternoon of 3rd April 298,176 BC (even though the Gregorian calendar, nor any other, existed back then). You continue to demand facts and specificity without providing any of your own. When do you believe Homo Sapiens inhabited Earth? Did they evolve from an earlier species or did they appear out of nowhere as the product of a creator as written in the bible?
-
.... and science has the self awareness to at least admit that. The "believers" just say - "you can't explain it, so it must be god", which is hardly convincing. If your lack of intelligence leads you to make decisions that shorten your lifespan then you're hardly likely to contribute to evolution. Where does science say it is sure let alone cocksure? and what makes you so cocksure that Jane Roberts was right? You mock science yet without it you might well be chipping away your answers from a block of stone on Mount Ararat rather than on a modern forum that would never exist without it.

Thanks Richard. I'm guessing they used to make too many mistakes when cutting and there were arguments over the replacement material costs. Just one of those things we have to accept living here.

Hi, Looking for somewhere around Pattaya that can supply / cut plywood to specific sizes. It will be a single 240cm x 120cm sheet cut into 2 specific pieces (with scrap left over). I know that Thai Watsadu can supply the plywood but anytime I've asked for a cutting service they look at me as if I'm from Mars. Any ideas? Thanks.

I don't. If I don't believe in a god as written by others then I don't believe he has any traits at all. My replies were to another poster who believes that god is all about love. Certainly more plausible than a god I would say, but I've not had your Damascus moment. Like a child with Lego blocks? Just throw them together enough times and something that appears designed might come out of them? That doesn't describe an entity that is all powerful. It's more akin to the monkeys writing a collection of words enough times until they produce the works of Shakespeare. There's that answer again. I understand. I just think that "we can't explain it with our current knowledge so we'll say it must have been created by a supernatural power" is a lazy answer and misses a huge opportunity to gain new knowledge. Which would discount others' beliefs that their god is all powerful and all knowing. He makes mistakes and potentially doesn't care about them. So is the bible based on fact then? How can you use the story of Adam and Eve to explain something when it is taken from a story book that has undertones of love (interspersed with plenty of hate). If this story were true then god again made a flawed product, didn't admit to his own failings and just cast that product aside. About as scientific as the god also appearing out of nowhere. Others have stated that god has existed for eternity in which case I'll steal that answer and say the energy / material of the universe has existed for eternity and didn't need a creator.
