Please do elaborate. What is this evidence? There is? Where? That's a two way street. What is the name that you would call someone that doesn't believe in unicorns, or leprechauns or fairies? Why does someone that doesn't believe in a god needs to be labelled as anything? I'm not a mechanic. Does that make me an amechanic? Right back at you. If you have faith then that's all well and good. You can believe in anything you like. However, once you try and teach children your unproven beliefs, or run a government based on those beliefs, I start to have a problem. A big problem.

Vientiane always used to be apply on the morning of day 1 and pick up on the afternoon of day 2. There is a superb 5 start hotel with low rates at the other end of the same road (literally 5 minutes walk from the consulate). I think I used to pay around $75 per night or thereabouts, which is great for the quality.

Whatever the law might say I'd call that theft. Hopefully there are a few people here that would have more class than to do it.

I expect you know but remember that Don Mueang lost the BKK airport code when Suvarnabhumi opened (in 2006?). It has been DMK since. "Bangkok International" used to belong to Don Mueang too but is generally tied to the BKK code, so changed at the same time. For the aviation geeks, VTBD and VTBS are their respective 4 letter ICAO codes, the 3 letter codes being from IATA.

Creaking front suspension (not in the wet)
Woof999 replied to JeffersLos's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Used to be an Alfa Romeo GTA nut (147 and 156). Made the mistake of replacing wishbones with non OEM parts. Creaking, knocking, banging were always a problem within a couple of years and often sooner. Suspension parts are now an item where I'll always insist on OEM parts regardless of who's doing the work. -
What's a good tire for 95% highway use and 5% off road

I think the idea is that someone else might have already done that and could offer some advise.... -
I wrote "It comes from a location where the workers involved are probably paid very little and have few rights." and "The money earned by the workers involved is 100% irrelevant to the final price? Really?" Both statements appear to be in line with each other, but I'm not about to get into an argument about it. Have a nice day.

It comes from a location where the workers involved are probably paid very little and have few rights. A bit of a generalisation there which also highlights my own hypocrisy as I've bought from Chinese suppliers on Lazada at least twice this week.

I've picked up 2 chest infections in the last month after having stopped wearing masks in most circumstances. When out and about I'll probably be masking up again, up until it becomes illegal to do so (which it wont), or the consensus of medical professionals tells me that it makes little to no difference. If some here think that makes me stupid... bless you.

Is the no-cut method still "while you wait" ?

Interesting Immigration attitude at Swampy today
Woof999 replied to Regyai's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I was denied entry about 4 years ago. All very polite, but firm. Wasn't even allowed to move my car from the car park or contact my long term gf to give her the keys. I flew in from a bordering country and was denied entry because of too many visa waivers. Was initially told I would be deported to Europe, even though I made it clear I had flown in from "next door". I then bought a ticket back to where I'd come from and was escorted to the gate. Again, all very politely. I had the impression that I could have bought a ticket to anywhere as long as I was leaving the country. Since then, visas all the way and no issues. -
Not for one moment suggesting this forum gets more argumentative by the day, but grown adults (assumption) discussing the correct way to do something so basic that most of us were taught it before we were 10 years old?

Actress Pinky facing 50,000 year sentence claims popular TV show host
Woof999 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Anything more than 40,000 years would be ridiculous. -
Spot on. I would think you'd be trying to be a victim by labeling that racist. Arrogant stereotyping is spot on. We've all done it at some stage in our lives, which doesn't make it any more acceptable.

Life without a credit card in Thailand
Woof999 replied to poppysdad's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
I used to think that, but credit cards give you a LOT more protection. With a debit card, the funds are immediately withdrawn from your account and charge backs are challenging at best. With credit cards, there is much more onus on the payment receiver to not be a crooked asshat. -
5 months into Fortuner ownership - are all dealers like this?
Woof999 replied to Woof999's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
I wont bore you with all the details, but after visiting the dealer again yesterday and waiting more than 45 minutes to speak with the owner that wasn't there, he was due to come to our house at 1pm today after apologies from his sales staff for mucking us around. At a little after 1:30pm he called my wife to say he wouldn't be coming, but might be able to make Monday (we had waited in today). During this call he asked my wife if we were sure we hadn't taken the 'Tuner to a 3rd party shop to have the single Legender kick plate fitted. Unbelievable. I'm not sure why he's asking though, because his staff have already told us on multiple occasions that it's "by design". -
Science cannot refuse to deal with anything any more than "blue" can. There might not yet be the knowledge or tools available to answer every question, but scientists want answers to everything more than most. Another point many miss here is that science MUST redefine reality with new discovery. That is the very nature of science. I'm not sure that the same can be said of our religious friends.
