  1. I think that's open to interpretation. If the contract states "if you leave early then you will lose your deposit" then I believe it's reasonable to infer that the repercussions end there. I've written a fair amount of contracts and would always write something along the lines of "if you leave early then your deposit will be kept to pay for all outstanding rent due on the full term, as well as for damage etc". Something like that anyway. In other words, if a contract states that the penalty for doing something is X, but doesn't make it clear that this is not the full extent of the penalty, then it would be reasonable to believe that X is all that happens. In this instance I'd be very surprised if the landlord took matters further, but I've been surprised before, I'm not a lawyer and you shouldn't believe a word I write. Have a nice day.
  2. It's possible to sell anything. How you might transfer ownership of the Lazada account might be a different matter though - something I'd be asking Lazada themselves. As a potential business buyer, statements like "The business is good and generates a lot of interest. " don't mean much to me. Gross turnover, profit, cash on hand, assets (stock, business equipment etc), goodwill et al are what matters. You also need a good answer to "why do you want to sell the business" if it is as successful as you will make out. If your valuation is only based on the potential the business has without any actual history to back that up, it will be a much harder sell. Hope that helps at least a little.
  3. Cambodia and Thailand are very different places (IMHO). I must have visited there more than 30 times for up to 2 weeks and loved it every time. I finally moved there (supposedly permanently) from Philippines about 8 years ago. Within 6 months I was totally fed up and bored. The place is too small (Phnom Penh is tiny and Siem Reap much smaller still) and everyone knows everyone else's business. It is changing so fast though. On the plus side, much more physical variety in the fairer sex. Still a little too 3rd world for me.
  4. I wouldn't want to live in a 30sqm (or even larger) condo anywhere. Less than 10 minutes from the centre of Pattaya you have "the dark side". A huge selection of houses from 1 bed up to 10 bedroom luxury pool villas and full resorts that you can rent or buy. Pattaya is far more than just the nightlife and anyone suggesting that is all there is, or condos are the only place you can stay has never spent any time here. I would wager that, within just a few km of the centre, there are better quality, more keenly priced villas than you could possibly imagine. I've lived in 6 pool villas here (never a condo) and they kept going up in size and quality until I decided to buy. Nightlife is great whether you want to make use of it or not, as is food selection, pricing, cinemas, bowling, pool (billiards), ice skating, golf and whatever else, all without the need to be anywhere near the concrete jungle that is Bangkok.
  5. You seriously advocating for driving while stoned?
  6. Both factual and almost useless at the same time.
  7. ...and immigration will insist it has a retirement visa.
  8. Will TAT count this as a Chinese tourist in the official figures?
  9. For those with lots of recent entry stamps... avoid the fast track even when flying J / F. It's usually MUCH quieter than the main queues and they have a lot more time to be thorough looking through all your entries.
  10. Yep, every year here in Pattaya. They were a little abrupt with me the first time but nice as pie ever since. They even use the school bus (and driver) from the school that I send 3 kids to. All in all one of the most pleasant of the immigration interactions to go through. Same people each time, so at least a little rapport being formed.
  11. Has solved me many problems on the odd exterior renovation when the client was a little cash strapped. Paint doesn't hold too well though.
  12. Did you specifically want colour and inkjet? I used to have something similar a while back but now I prefer laser and black only is just fine for my needs. I chose the Brother MFC-L2715DW mostly because it was all Office Mate had in stock and I had some urgent scanning to do, but I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. To your original question, in Pattaya I'd go to TukCom and be reasonably sure that if nobody wanted to offer a repair then it probably wouldn't be worth looking elsewhere. In Bangkok I guess first visit would be to Pantip.
  13. I understand, but there are differences. Condos cannot typically be rented by the day, either because of legislation requiring a hoteliers license or the restrictions in the condo property agreement, so there would unlikely be a daily rate or a weekly rate anyway. Many landlords want 2 months deposit here, but let's say only 1 month deposit was paid along with 1 month upfront and let's say the stay was only for 2 weeks. The landlord would receive 2 months money for 2 weeks stay. Not perfect, but better than a kick in the teeth. Circumstances change and a contract should typically reflect a penalty depending on what those changing circumstances are. Typically this would be a loss of deposit. If a rental agreement wanted more than that then you'd probably be foolish to sign it anyway. Again, I'd probably have a chat with the landlord rather than just disappearing, but, on the occasion of the landlord becoming a duck with an i about it, I'd be off.
  14. The daily rate wouldn't come with a full month's deposit.
  15. I'm hoping that you do know what OEM means?
  16. It says he used Prompt Pay.... you send the money to a phone number.
  17. If you want to stick it to Pfizer then stop buying viagra. It wont be hard.
  18. Why would anyone want to cut down?
  19. Pretty sure this is the one I've used before: Lab
  20. Sure, but you seem to have adjusted to match the portion of the Thai community that doesn't like foreigners. It could mean many things. Noble? That comes across as you thinking you're better than others. For all anyone else knows, maybe you came here to run away from something. I'd prefer not to judge. Who are the minority that you mention? The Thais, in Thailand? Nothing, unless it's at the expense of other nations, which would come across negatively. There is a report today of a Thai drunk who killed 2 young Thais on their motorbikes. There was a report earlier in the week of a monk driving dangerously, killing 1 and severely injuring another. Why is it that your wrath appears to be more based on someone's nationality rather than their actions?
  21. I wonder if they could send a reminder email one day after the reminder email to let us know that the reminder email can now be actioned?
  22. You enter the bank name and account number of the account you are submitting the money into. Now they are saying that you, as the depositor, need to identify yourself as well. May well be the same person as the owner of the account, but not always.
  23. You don't seem to like the number of white men allowed into Thailand. Perhaps you should look elsewhere? Your posts are becoming more and more pro Thai / anti white man every day, regardless of the situation.
