These would be good choices, indeed. But it won't be easy to get him there. You won't be able to do it. Ask Camillean to get him transferred there, as reason tell them that his case is known there. I would hesitate to talk about money. Chula probably won't be much cheaper than Camillean, but treatment will be better. About prices at Chest Hospital I have no idea. What I said about hospitals not requiring daily payments is even more true at government hospitals. So even if they aren't cheaper, the problem will be postponed.

This is very cheap for being on a ventilator. It will get even cheaper (maybe half) because the first days in ICU are usually the most expensive ones. Hospitals usually don't insist on daily payments, they often let patients run up a very high bill. And once he really has to pay hospitals usually accept paying by installments. There is no good government hospital nearby. As he is on a ventilator he may need a ventilator on the trip. A government hospital won't necessarily be much cheaper.

Wrong. If they get covid now in China they know they won't get a hospital bed (all full), they won't get Paxlovid (not allowed), they won't even get Paracetamol (sold out). If they are smart they fly abroad. They know in Western countries or in Thailand nobody can force them to pay the bill Not stupid. But disingenuous.

Expected total deaths about 1.5m, according to multiple models including the Chinese themselves. A back-of-the-envelope calculation: 4x more inhabitants than US. US 1m death, so China should have 4m. But countries who followed zero-covid generally have only 25% accumulated deaths compared to the places that let it rip (US, UK, Sweden) from the beginning. So China should have 1m deaths.

One of the last persons I would ask anything about the origins of covid. Too much involved in gain-of-function research and the unsavory collaboration of Western virologists with squeaky-clean Chinese high- security labs (Chinese are generally well-known for their cleanliness). These things were discussed in 2020, forgotten by 2023?

Which one is better? Phuket or Pattaya?
Lorry replied to Goodboybkk's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Yes, that's true, and no, it isn't: Pattaya is the most honest place in this country, it's the real Thailand and the low-lives (Thai and foreign) there are brutally straightforward. Phuket is a lot more fake, the people there (Thais and foreign) are in no way better. It's way more of a rip-off, a national disgrace. -
That 50% figure was my guesstimate before i read it here. Chinese government sources last week talked of 250m infected, that's 1/6 of population, rising fast. The infected are in the cities, it's not yet in the countryside. People from the cities are the ones who travel abroad. So 50% sounds reasonable.

Legalization at Khlong Toei MRT-No appointments
Lorry replied to stubuzz's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I went by myself, paid for Express Service (800b instead of 400b). Their website says there is no Express service for legalization of translated foreign passports, but there is. I had to wait 1.5 hrs until it was my turn. If you choose an appointment earlier in the morning you don't have to wait so long (I chose 11.30). Then it took 1.5 hrs from application until I got my legalization. I used the latter 1.5 hours to do 90days at nearby immigration (used motorcycles). -

I run into the same problem as OP about 2 months ago. I called MFA and was told to go to CW. So that's what I did. Not very happy. -

I know. That's why I was wondering whether anyone knows an agent who can do this (in Bangkok) -
Renewal of Retirement extension
Lorry replied to geejay's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Does anybody know an agent in Bangkok who can do it 3 months before? -
Thanks a lot for all the suggestions. I really have to check out the park mentioned next time (there is another one on the other side of the terminal). Does anybody know more about them ? As for my niece, the trip from Austria took almost 24 hours (Qatar airways), and the rest of the trip to Koh Lanta would take about 16 hours more - they rented a place in the capsule hotel instead of meeting me.

I wouldn't bet on it. There are circumstances where someone isn't fit to fly but he doesn't need inpatient treatment. He may even be refused boarding at the airport, and in this case the whole story would be credible. If the medical extension is handled by a reputable hospital, it might work. Of course, immigration could always say just use a land border.

Thai police will no longer reveal nationalities of foreign suspects
Lorry replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
In my home country, police will not reveal the nationality of criminals if they come from a muslim country. (We don't have many Chinese) -
Answer to the OP: no, it's not true. There are many errors and half-truths in the video. Just 2 points, at the beginning he mentions Switzerland and Dubai for cancer treatment. Switzerland is one of the countries that "has healthcare" in his terminology (every resident in Switzerland is obliged by law to buy health insurance). Dubai is a place with a very rudimentary healthcare system, they send their patients to many countries (eg Germany) that "have healthcare". Dubai is not a good place for cancer treatment.

Exact translations of these words and when appropriate to use them
Lorry replied to bbi1's topic in Thai Language
Don't teach people bad words. They might use it and get problems. -
Arriving from Europe, my niece will have to wait 8 hours for her domestic flight. I would like to meet her, and would prefer a location where we can sit outside. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Effectiveness of learning Thai online? Has anyone learnt Thai online?
Lorry replied to ubonr1971's topic in Thai Language
Neeraman says there is no language test for citizenship anymore. (I have no idea whether he is right or not) -
I read your posts about fitness and health with great interest. I agree with a lot of things, and I can learn from your posts. From a diatribe like this, I learn nothing, unfortunately. Please write more posts that will educate your readers (I don't think I am the only one who learns something from your posts) and don't waste your energy. Thanks a lot for posting

The French embassy used to have a list of donors. If I remember correctly, the person who updated the list was Louise. This information is more than 10 years old, I will try to get more information tomorrow.
