I can only warn everyone. Many years ago I lived in Patong / Phuket for more than a year. Then I moved to the lovely family resort Pattaya because I needed better access to international flights. At this Patong time I heard a lot from the bar scene. Farang bar owners couldn't even empty the ashtrays because the Thai competition watched and reported them. Farang bar owners have been photographed and reported by their own girlfriend or even wife when they for instance carried crates of beer to the bar or were doing other work, and endless other stories. Most of such farangs were deported afterwards. Some happy girlfriends and wives were left behind with the bar and other things...

They are blocked, don't work anymore or are not available for older Android versions. Take LINE. They simply blocked it. Before there was Line Lite at least. Gone. WhatsApp is still available. I wouldn't use LINE a minute if my friends don't force me somehow to use it. Just the fact that you can use only 1 account linked to a device/phone number drives me crazy. Before you could use Line Lite to be able to use the same account on several mobile devices. Now you can play around with the Kiwi browser and the Line extension there... Take banking apps. The problem if you buy it here might be the warranty. You need an international warranty. Regarding old phones. Not so much the speed is the problem for me but that more and more applications don't work anymore.

What gets on my nerves at Lazada more and more often is that some sellers set immediately the status "packet" so that you can't cancel it anymore. But then it takes forever until they ship if they ship at all. Obviously they order your order somewhere. Is it the same at Shopee?

If you do a job that is reserved for Thais and/or requires a work permit it is not important if you take money or not. Some think that because they don't take money it is not illegal. This is wrong. But as long as nobody has a problem with what you do not much will happen. But if then expect problems.

Avoid Pattaya if you don't like the water fights and even more extreme noise than usual. Chaos reigns here for up to 10 days with drunk entertainers and their drunk customers everywhere. They are usually the only ones that have fun.

I bought many things at Lazada in the meantime (for sure more than 100). Only 1 time I got an envelope instead of a box containing the ordered product. I refused to take it. All other products were problem free. They biggest problems I have with the final delivery to my home and this very often. I always make unpack videos just in case something is wrong. So far I never needed them. There are many fake products and fake listings. If there are not enough reviews and then mostly good ones I don't buy.

The calls and hanging up immediately without speaking seems to be a more common problem. Has happened to me several times. I am in Central Pattaya. Maybe the courier is in Jomtien at 5 and thinks I won't go to Central Pattaya for this one delivery. There are often traffic jams. They just say the customer has postponed and maybe it's easier to go there on an other day. Or they say he refused to accept delivery or whatever so that the customer is guilty. Long time it was 5 Baht. Then they introduced 10 Baht. Then came 10 and 20 Baht depending on the distance. But this was too complicated and so it is 10 Baht again. This is just your assumption. About 3 months ago they replaced the start button of my Note II (that I bought 2013) at exactly this Samsung Service Center. No problem and I paid only 350 Baht - see working phone picture taken just before. Good for the next 10 years ????????????. In respect of battery costs it depends on the battery.

The problem is that you sit around at home and wait for nothing. At one point they simply said that I "rejected the delivery at doorstep" and they sent it back - they never came or spoke to me. I ordered again and the same chaos started all over again. I sat at home for several days and waited and waited. It finally arrived - the box completely damaged and open. Unfortunately I needed the things urgently. The problem occurs when they use their truck for delivery. I am in Central Pattaya. Perhaps other locations have more luck.
