Your experience with the TOT NT Thunder SIM
Mickeymaus replied to Mickeymaus's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
I wrote about this two postings ago. If something is not clear there or missing please let me know what it is. The registration is not difficult. The most difficult part is to find the longitude and latitude of your location. At https://wcsoss.totwbs.com/promotion you select the Thunder package that you want - here for example the monthly one for the 1 month package and confirm (see picture) - and get to the next page where you have to enter the longitude and the latitude. If this is done correctly and Thunder is available at your location you come to the next page where you enter passport number and other things and finally get your service code. You can write this on a piece of paper and go with this and your passport to the service center shown under this code. But I think you can go to any other service center too. You can search for one there. -
Here the results of my CAT 4 CAT 6 comparison. I only have a CAT 4 router and would like to find out whether it makes sense for me to buy a CAT 6 router. Since I don't have one, I used a friend's iPhone 6S Plus. It has CAT 6 AND can use the LTE Band 40 which the NT Thunder SIM requires. However, please understand that this iPhone may work differently than a router, and there are also different models of CAT 6 routers as well. But I wanted to get an idea. The speed tests showed that CAT 6 was faster than CAT 4, but nowhere as fast as my tablet with CAT 20/21. With this I get speeds up to 150 Mbps. The first image shows the speed test results with the NT Thunder in my router on the left and the iPhone on the right. But speed tests are one thing. The ultimate speed test FOR ME is 4K video at 60 frames per second (fps) (3840x2160@60). My tablet as an access point for my TV had no problems at all with the Thunder and also with the DTAC 30 Mbps. There was even enough capacity left for other things. My router with CAT 4 had no problems with 4K and 24fps videos (3840x2160@24) but buffered at 60fps. Unfortunately, the iPhone with CAT 6 used as an access point for the TV did not change that. There was also buffering. But ok, one does not watch 4K and with @60 frames per second videos all the time. After this experience I'm not so sure about buying a CAT 6 router anymore. Again, I know that an iPhone is not a router. If I ever buy a CAT 6 router, I will report about that experience here. But LTE CAT 6 is not the limit. Here is a good overview to get an idea of what is on the market: https://grouptestwinner.com/best-4g-lte-router/ Finally the warning again - if you want to use the Thunder and want to buy a router, check if the router can use BAND 40 (B40) also know as 2300MHz frequency (4G TDD LTE B40 (2300MHz)) ⚠️⚠️⚠️ . Not all routers can do this. If you buy for instance this router on Lazada shown two postinge before the Thunder will not be slower but not work at all because it can't use Band 40. But I also realise that I had luck with my router. I didn't know anything about the existence of the Thunder at this time. If you want to check if a phone or tablet can use B40, you can do so at https://www.gsmarena.com for example. Search for your model. Then at NETWORK press EXPAND on the right side and you should see number 40 under 4G as shown in the last picture. Please understand that I cannot guarantee the correctness of the data shown there.

I am not sure what your situation is. Did you delete and deactivate apps already? If not do you know how to do this?
-
Xiaomi needs them for spying ????????. Perhaps some you can uninstall and some deactivate. Removing some might require rooting the device. But some banking apps might / will not like this. A complicated way to do it without rooting is described here https://www.xda-developers.com/uninstall-carrier-oem-bloatware-without-root-access/

Pattaya City Bans Parking on Beach Side, Effective From March 1st
Mickeymaus replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
Parking or not. I see a different problem. There was not so long ago a discussion to widen the Beach Road AGAIN. They did this already years ago when they removed the much nicer old beach promenade. At the moment when you want to cross the road from the beach side you have to come to the street from behind cars parked there. It is dangerous. Using the pedestrian crossing with traffic lights? I tried this recently at Soi Post Office. It does not work. It seems to be switched off. What I find sad is that the Beach Road gets transformed into a beach highway. Most of the traffic there has nothing to do with the Beach Road. They also could use the Third Road. -
Maybe he is bankrupt or maybe he is really a fraudster. Perhaps this consumer protection is a cheap way to help you. At least as a start. A lawyer - hard to say but you might lose even more. If the other party is in a foreign country, for instance China, then better forget it.
-
The question is why he doesn't pay it back. If I steal 1000 baht, it's a crime and the police will take care of it. If I borrow 1000 baht without fraudulent intent and don't pay it back, the court will have to deal with it. If it is not clear that it is fraud, the court can decide. If it was fraud, it was a crime. If I just don't have any money, it wasn't a crime. The police cannot decide this, especially if you are only one person.
-
If you find more people with the same problem then it might be a criminal act and you can go to the police.
-
In your case the police is useless. They don't have the power to freeze the bank accounts. Legally it is not clear if he is guilty at all. The court has to decide this. Perhaps you know the Boris Becker case. He has a lot of debt and many people try to get back their money. The police had nothing to do with this. The court ruled that he had to go to jail - but was released shortly afterwards. The people who expect money have been waiting to get something back for years and are still fighting and waiting. And in this case we are talking about many millions of Euros.
-
It depends on the damage. Of course, if it is a major accident, they will come. I just wanted to emphasize that the police has nothing to do with "private" issues. Even if they want to help, legally there is nothing they can do. They could even get themselves into legal trouble trying to do someone a "favor" - as seen many times ????????.
-
It is not easy or even impossible, especially if the other party is abroad. The police can't help and does not need to help. There is a long way to go before there is legal evidence that you should get your money back. And even if it is proven, it's another long road to really get it back. The police has nothing to do with it. It's for lawyers and courts. Let's take an other example. There is a car accident and no one was hurt, but you expect your damage to be covered. The police has nothing to do with it if you do not get your money. However the situation is different if the other party has fled the scene of the accident. Then it is a crime and the police will take care of it.

It is not the total video. It is just a kind of introduction. Next is the DVD menu where you can select what you want to see. The total DVD is Gigabyte of data. This introduction here is normally 11 MB. For the upload I compressed it to 10 percent and changed the format from VOB to MP4 what leads to stripes. The Pattaya Carnival was a big event. But there was not much advertisement and so there were not many people. It was never repeated.
-
I have many pictures - I just have to find them. But mostly I recorded videos. I don't know if it will work if I upload a small sequence. Here an introduction for my DVD Pattaya Carnival 2006. The pictures of Soi Buakhao are also taken from a video that I recorded when I was sitting on a Baht bus. So there is a longer stretch of this Soi Buakhao documented. And the "German Beach" and... If the sound here at this video is not good it is because of the browser. Better download it then and play it with a media player. The media player should be able to handle deinterlacing otherwise you will see stripes. All my videos are recorded in real dolby surround. VTS_04_1.mp4

NO, NO, like you said. Of course, the seller could give you any discount. But if it's in Thai name, then it's in Thai name. Of course, there could still be quotas for foreigners in this building. There is one more thing. If I remember correctly, when a foreigner owns a condominium and dies, the people who inherit it have 1 year to sell it in the foreign name. I haven't checked that lately. If it is no longer the case please correct me.

Perhaps ChatGPT is really not bad. Now I asked "Where can I repair my TV in Pattaya?". The answer was "There are several options for repairing a TV in Pattaya. Here are a few places you could consider: T.M. Electronic Service - This is a popular electronics repair shop in Pattaya. They offer repair services for a wide range of electronic devices, including TVs. Their address is 326/10 Pattaya Tai Road, Pattaya City, Chonburi 20150, and their phone number is +66 38 420 722. Tech Heaven - This is another electronics repair shop in Pattaya that offers TV repair services. They are located at 106/30-31 Central Pattaya Road, Nongprue, Banglamung, Chonburi 20150, and their phone number is +66 38 361 956. Pattaya Electronics - This is a large electronics store that also offers repair services. They have a team of experienced technicians who can repair a wide range of electronic devices, including TVs. Their address is 285/43 Pattaya Klang Road, Nongprue, Banglamung, Chonburi 20150, and their phone number is +66 38 361 701. It's a good idea to contact each of these shops to get an idea of their prices and turnaround times for TV repairs. You can also check online reviews and ask for recommendations from locals or expats who have had experience with TV repair in Pattaya."

I just asked the new ChatGPT "What is Soi 6 in Pattaya?". The answer is not bad, even if some details are missing... "Soi 6 is a well-known street in Pattaya, a popular beach resort town in Thailand. It's famous for its lively and bustling nightlife scene, particularly its many bars and nightlife venues. The street is located in the heart of Pattaya's red-light district and is known for its "short time" bars, where customers can pay for the company of women for a brief period. The bars are often small and intimate, with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Many of the bars have open fronts, and the women who work there can be seen sitting outside, trying to attract customers. Soi 6 has a reputation for being one of the more "raunchy" areas of Pattaya's nightlife scene, and it's often frequented by single men or groups of male friends looking for a good time. However, it's worth noting that Pattaya's nightlife scene caters to a wide range of tastes, and there are plenty of other areas in the city that offer a more family-friendly atmosphere."

There are some reasons - you will give her the money for free in the end. You don't have a right to live there. Now there are options that grant you this right. But don't forget to use them. Another one is if you can buy the condo as foreigner it has often a higher price than one that can be bought in Thai name only. So you pay a higher price for a condo that a farang could buy and devalue it by buying it in Thai name. Then better look for one that only can be bought in Thai name.
-
If you have reviews where often the same photos are used and / or many buyer names don't fit to Thailand they might be fake. You didn't provide a link.

"The raid took place at about 9:30 PM on Thursday, February 16th. Although this was not past the legal closing time Banglamung authorities claimed they had alleged evidence that showed the venue regularly broke this rule, which in this particular zone would be midnight." I just looked at Google Maps. If it is this Club 4 they clearly advertised to be open until 1 am. Is this evidence enough? https://maps.app.goo.gl/RnH52VBCCf9xzXMVA
