  1. This can be disabled, Google "How stop edge working in background"
  2. Always happens with urgent stuff Never had any problem with Kerry, except this time and it just happens to be something for one of my kids, so getting bugged every day "has it arrived yet" Ain't life grand
  3. Been waiting a couple of days for a delivery that was marked on route ? To day received a parcel that was ordered days after the lost one. The driver asked if we had received anything in the last few days, which seemed a bit odd. Yea! something seems to be amiss
  4. Thank you all for your comments. The child is only 9 years old so doesn't expect super fast gaming machine. My own computer is about 12 years old and that works just fine for her. I have a spare SSD250Gb drive lying about so can swop that out. I also have Win10 installation program so no worries about that. I could upgrade my desktop and let her have my old one but it does what I want so why spend money. Also we are a bit pushed for space in the kids room so a full size desktop would not be practical.. 🙂
  5. Bit of a daft question, I know but bear with me. To stop her commandeering my PC I need another computer for my youngest kid. She does some homework on it and plays some simple kiddy games so don't need anything fancy. I don't want to pay for something like a laptop, so while browsing Lazada came across this cheap second hand Mini Pc. I have keyboard, mouse and monitor laying around from previous upgrades on my PC, so am hoping this Mini Pc will be all I need to put a full PC together. It has WiFi so that will save running a extra LAN cable. What do you think, would this work for me? https://www.lazada.co.th/products/mini-pc-i4831860551-s20788104352.html? 6. Don't use one of those small handle taps, after a while when the tap gets stiff there is not enough leverage to turn it. If you can use tap with a normal size handle. If there is space restriction behind the machine and wall, use an elbow and have the tap going up, down or left, right against the wall so the handle moves up/down or left/right and not in/out towards the machine. I won't add my thoughts to the already too many confusing suggestions made regarding the connections. Except to say you're all over thinking it. Anyways good luck
  7. Yes I know tubes can be put into tubeless tyres buy I didn't want to do that. About a hundred years ago I also used to fix my own punctures, but these days all I can manage is the kids push bikes. Anyways, the puncture guy said the hole was too big now and need a new tyre, so that problem solved
  8. Thank you'all for your detailed replies, good information. Will only go for the mushroom plug from the inside in future, though I don't think there's many of the local repair guys round here that could do it. Anyways Thanks
  9. Agree, but it's only a small bike used just locally, and it's on the rear wheel so little risk 🤞
  10. Well Yea! But the lord wasn't too good when he made an odd ball size tire that doesn't seem to be regular stock
  11. One of the our motorcycles is a Vespa LX S125 that had a puncture. The tyre is tubeless so they just put a plug in it. This works on the car but not so well on the bike tyre, as after just a few days the plug came out, or at least the tyre went down again. I suggested instead of using a plug putting a patch on the inside of the tyre, but this means having to remove the wheel to get at the tire so nobody is enthusiastic about it "no need, plug good". Yea! good business for them, getting paid many times for the same puncture. Anyways question is are inside patches available for bike tyres like they are for cars? Please don't say get a new tyre, this one cost almost a thousand baht and is only a couple of months old.
  12. Exactly, I thought it was only me. "Reverse-Illusion" - Another one to add to the growing list of engineering terms
  13. It's good to have a "spring clean" of the workshop sometimes. My problem is that if I find something that I know will be useful, I put it somewhere safe and easily accessible ready for when I need it. The trouble is that when the time comes that I do need it, I remember where I found it but for the life of me can't recall the safe place that I put it, so now can't find it again. It's an age thing
  14. Didn't realise TOT had changed their name, no wonder I couldn't find any info. Having a quick look at packages available looks what I have seems OK, so guess no point in changing. Anyways interesting to know, Thanks for your help
  15. Just out of interest I'm trying to see what deals and promotions TOT are offering these days. I've been with TOT since way back on dial up and then as now fiber. I pay about 800bhat per month for internet and landline phone connection. Got no problem with their service and speed, just curious if there is a better deal I could be on. Tried their Web page but couldn't find any prices. Thanks.
  16. Is Caroline still going? I remember when it first started. I was a truck driver in those days. Trucks didn't have radios, or even heaters, well mine didn't, so would listen to Caroline on portable tranny. Reception was a bit patchy, but was great round East Anglia area. Good times
  17. Depends at the time in your life. The years pass and loves come and go, some fade into obscurity but perhaps a precious few memories still linger. My very first, never to be forgotten:- And will forever remember a wonderful magical summer on a Greek island:-
  18. To disable a lot of unnecessary or unwanted programs try a small free program called O&O ShutUp For Windows 10 & 11:- https://www.oo-software.com/en/shutup10 Any changes can very easily be reversed with just a click.
  19. Seems like it, BUT...... the original fluorescent had the connecting wires come out from the middle of the fitting while the new LED all seem to come out of the end. Which make life just a little more difficult when working upside down on a ladder. Also obviously more difficult replacing the whole fitting and rewiring the connection block, when up the ladder. Much simpler in the old days where just a half twist would replace the tube. Ah! the good old days
  20. Agree replacing the fitting and tube in one go should be the easiest, as long as the clips are roughly the same and will fit. The other problem is the variations of light output now available. Recently replaced a tube that was so bright it hurt my eyes . 4000k I think it was, should have had a proper look before buying This is what I'm talking about:-
  21. Anyone else have problems replacing those fluorescent strip lights with the new LED? Used to be easy to replace a old fluorescent tube, just go and buy and fit. The first replacement of fluorescent to LED is simple enough, just remove the old fitting completely and replace with new LED fitting and tube. The problem comes with replacing the LED tube. Seems simple enough, just like the old fluorescent remove old tube and replace.......... If only These new LED's have got more complicated. There is the choice of various Watt, Lumens and LM factors, on top of which replacement tubes from different manufacturers are not always interchangeable In trying to replace a LED tube in fitting I put up earlier I had one go pop and immediately burnt out and another blew the house fuse, but luckily the tube it's self was undamaged so was able to use it by using the fitting that it came with. So seems the only safe way to use these LED strip light is buy them with complete with fitting and replace the lot each time. What a pain
