I think you need to be more specific... is that real beer or "near" beer - which is basically water... ????

Two things I'm not positive about: 1. If select British (UK) English in your spell checker it may help with that? 2. Google is an American company... maybe yank is the default?

Lol... Actually we use feet and inches... but why split meters, I mean hairs. I think the answer to everyone's questions is that America and England were once the same - language, accents, government, units of measure, date formats etc.. While our language and government diverged. When England/UK migrated to the "continent's" way of doing things, the US did not. Not saying the US way is better, it may not be... It's just different and works for the US... Same as Thailand driving on the "wrong" side of road... just different and works for them, us... I get confused... lol

I am "one of those", so take this with a grain of salt... The best thing anyone can do to protect themselves online is get rid of FB, and all things Meta... As an experiment, browse through DuckDuckGo and see how much content is blocked so SF can't track you.

Please excuse my ignorance. I Googled S2S kneecaps, and as seems to happen more and more with Google... got no useful returns... So, can someone kindly clue me in on S2S kneecaps? -

90 Day Report. Where?
Iamloki replied to jaiyenyen's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Do it online - in the beginning there were issues with the online process. For the past several years I've had no issues. Lately, I've been getting the e-mailed approval notices in a matter of hours. Theoretically, you could do at any IO in Thailand... But why go through the hassle, or put someone else through the hassle... Do it online. -

"Too many Russians in Phuket"... I'd say too many Russians in Ukraine and just look at all the damage the Russian "tourist" are causing there... Count your blessings Phuket - it will get worse. -
US English teacher arrested for sexual relation with 16 y/o student
Iamloki replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
He is being charged with "on charges of "taking a minor who is over 15 years old but not exceeding 18 years old away from their parents, guardian, or caretaker without reasonable cause, willingly and intentionally." ... I do not know, but is sound different than sex with a minor?? -

The article says, "on charges of "taking a minor who is over 15 years old but not exceeding 18 years old away from their parents, guardian, or caretaker without reasonable cause, willingly and intentionally." I think his charges are a bit more than the act of intercourse with his student. -

I'm not sure I would hold up Macron, or France for that matter, as the beacon we should aspire to. (No insult to our French brethren intended) -
Is Lazada a good place to buy an android phone (google pixel)
Iamloki replied to recom273's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
If you decide to buy the phone (any phone), if it is shipping from overseas, I strongly suggest you check with The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) and confirm that it has already been approved for import. Also, your life will be much easier if it is insured, registered and shipped via the Post/mail... not Fedex, UPS etc. etc. -
Money does not really make me happy Bob, though I do enjoy the freedom of choice it sometimes provides. I will say that lack of money definitely makes me sad.

Until I read the "aged misbegottens" bit, I was going to give you some benefits... Now, you are on your own... lol

First choice, do it yourself - much cheaper than hiring me. Second choice, I can do it (including electric and plumbing). You pay for tools, paint, caulk, other supplies, my driving costs from northern Thailand, hotel, food and incidentals. Third choice - re-read first choice... ;)

NBTC import licence for personal cellphone help
Iamloki replied to tstcman's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
Okay... way after the fact, but it took 90 days to finally get my phone once it arrived it Thailand. First I had to register as the "importer of record". I did this in person at Mae Sai (I'm in Chiang Rai). Then the told me I needed the Import License. There was a phone number given to me for the NBTC customer service in BKK. They don't answer the phone. Omitting a lot of the story, after daily calls/emails to UPS, Thai Customs, NBTC and the contacts emailed to me at the very beginning, I had had enough. I told them I no longer wanted the item and to return it to sender. They told me I now needed an Export License. Of course I told them I cannot export something that was never imported... You can guess how far I got going down that rabbit hole.... Finally, and quite by accident, I stumbled on this link: https://www.nbtc.go.th/About/สำนักงาน-กสทช-ส่วนภูมิภาค-(1)/สำนกงาน-กสทช-ภาค-3.aspx?lang=en-us I discovered there are regional offices for NBTC and I found one in Chiang Rai. I called the number and low and behold... they actually answered the call. I explained my dilemma, the woman invited me to the office where she filled in and submitted all the forms while I was there. Remember, I was now trying to return the darn thing... A few days later via email, I received the authorization to receive the phone, and it was shipped to my door. I learned 2 things through this ordeal: 1. Ship via registered mail - i.e. Post. The package will go to your local customs - not BKK. There is also a good chance it will just get delivered. 2. Never, ever, ever deal with offices in the BKK region unless you have no choice. Always find the regional office closest to you and deal with people who will actually help you. If you have to deal with BKK, just send them their bribe and tell them to return the package. If you have a situation and need more details on the process I found, you may private message me. -
