  1. Yes. That was my first thought, as well. Pity he didn't lose his member, was my second thought.
  2. Wow, Man.... Your suggestion might just be a lifesaver for me, as I will soon enter into the procedures of having several dental implants installed. I had thought of the blender idea. But, like you, I hate cleaning blenders. So, if you wish, you might share more about your slow-simmering-SOLUTION. Or, start a Topic, before I do.
  3. One of the reasons this happens is that the noise from the street travels upwards, then hits the balcony ceilings, then becomes focused on the listener, sitting on his/her balcony, enjoying a cup of tea. So, in essence, the ceilings and walls of the balcony are excellently designed to focus and concentrate and funnel the noise for BEST LISTENING by the balcony sitters, and this also helps to focus and concentrate the sound waves so that they can more easily penetrate into the room. Not much to be done if you move into one of these Condo Noise Boxes.
  4. Books, today, relative to great books pre-1970, are unreadable. Books today, most obviously, have been heavily influenced chiefly by the influence of Twitter Authors, and FaceBook authors. The last interesting book I read, if I can recall that far back, might be Roth
  5. Other than the hoop, the scene is idyllic, and quiet, and with a view.
  6. You will never find a Quiet Room, ever, next to a basketball hoop. I know this from vast experience.
  7. Which are the prisons with the best tennis courts, the best views, AND having the most comfortable padded cells? I know of a great prison on the Green Island just south of the main island of Formosa. Years ago, the tiny island was quite unspoiled. Plenty of fish due to the currents that pass by that geographical location. Low population density, too. But that was back in 1985. These days, they have ferries running back and forth and the passengers these boats carry have trashed Green Island....for sure.....
  8. I would actually LOVE a padded cell. But, aren't they expensive? With a padded cell, I would be in a truly quiet environment for the first time since leaving the EastCoast of Taiwan, on the most eastern tip of the entire island of Formosa. It would be great.
  9. Are you talking about miscegenation? Also, if this is the case, I would really like to know if anyone has any statistics showing Anglo-Saxon women as partners to non-Anglo-Saxon males as portrayed in tv and radio commercials. How do you know that this is increasing. If increasing, than by how much is this increasing. Also, was there a sudden upward inflection point in the data beginning at any specific year? Meaning, was there a sudden rise in the year 2000?, 2005, 20010, 2015, or 2020? In other words, was there a specific period when this behavior suddenly shifted to become considered more normative behavior? Wish someone could answer this question more authoritatively.
  10. Still no sign of a photo of said dining room table. Already over 11 hours, too, that I have been waiting for it. Here is what I would buy for about USD7,500.00 And I would not settle for anything less than this quality. Double Pedestal Dining Table in Satinwood with Burlwood Banding $7,800.00 It's a steal! So, what does his look like?
  11. And... Nobody mentioned this? Ascetic, of course. Keyboard error. Acetic belongs in the realm of chemistry.
  12. You are truly blessed.
  13. Please attach your wife's recipe for Khao Dom. Thank you.
  14. Soup is good. Soup is even better when we know what's in it. Stew is also good. I just with I had a wife to make me homemade soup and homemade stew. But, alas, this will probably never again be in the cards for me. Few women can tolerate me for more than 12 months. So, this guy who is looking for soup seems, actually, very fortunate, compared to me. The KEY here is to try to make soup, oneself, and not consume it from a can.
  15. I have many good memories of this mall, as well. I wish it had lasted 20 years longer. In the basement, you could get some really great food, such as roast leg of pork, and much more. The closure is a shame, really, because there were shops there that you just could not find anywhere else. Now, there is really no alternative to this mall for the selection of unique stuff for sale that is no longer available. I used to get great jeans there for half price. And, I did banking there, too. This type of mall will never again rear its head in Chiang Mai....for sure.
  16. The members, collectively, will decide which authors posting here are fools and, also, identify those who are not fools.
  17. Are you calling out Westerners? Why?
  18. Yes. I am speaking about my own personal experience. Anyway, if you have been reading your Alice in Wonderland..... "All the best people are crazy" Said of no less than...The Mad Hatter!
  19. There are certain psychological traits that are often thought to contribute to an individual's being interested in Fire-Play (or playing with fire). And, to the above list, I would also like to add..... PSYCHOPATHY
  20. Those canned soup prices seem rather steep. If I were doing it... I would try to teach my wife how to make soup. You could pay her the amount saved by substituting homemade soup for canned soup. Also healthier, considering the high sodium content of some of these canned soups. Just a thought....
  21. You just need to be satisfied with surviving on.... A daily ration of.... a. Tuna - One Can b. 5-egg omelet one box c. Chicken breast - one or two halves d. Jasmine rice -as much as you can eat e. Bread - self-baked, and in moderation f. Tea from Sichuan g. Water - not the fancy bottled water...the BIG Jugs. (Speaking of Big Jugs....) I am sure the above is the healthiest diet you could hope to think up.....and....delicious. I am no acetic, and I am enjoying myself in Thailand, and I have plenty of money to spare, each month. Mostly, I spend my extra money on computers which I assemble myself, and then install OpenSUSE 15.6 LEAP...Linux. I could not be happier.
  22. Have you, in your entire life, ever met a sane person?....Much less a small population of sane people?... Even while gazing in your mirror?
  23. Yes...EASILY. This is what I am looking forward to, in fact.
