  1. The eyes on that lizard remind me of Rosemary's Baby. So my question to you, Sir, is: "What have you done to its eyes?" Also, I have found that friends like these make very strange bedfellows.
  2. I once considered my wife to be both, if you must know.
  3. This price difference is truly criminal. Where is this overcharge going, and into whose pockets? Still, the torture in the USA continues. It shall continue to torture the American Common People until a tipping point is reached. Then, there will be a change. Remember the Boston Tea Party! And, it is really no wonder that Americans walk around with sour expressions on their pusses, and kill each other in fits of road rage. They are displacing their anger onto each other, instead of toward the true sources of their anger and frustration. The Powers That Be are expert at keeping the American Populace Befuddled. WHY OH WHY don't Average Americans read CHOMSKY? Can't they read??? Or, are they, nowadays, already too brainwashed to read my good friend Noam??? Noam is missed, these days....BIG TIME....
  4. I do not engage with friends before noon. There are many intelligent people who prefer to work late into the evening, and then meet with visitors after the noon-day Sun passes its zenith.
  5. I just wonder: Has this dramatic rise in the smoking of POT been driven by deteriorating economic performance locally? Or, is this Pot-Smoking a driver of decreasing economic performance? In my view, the smoking of Pot and economic performance are two factors which are intertwined. Concerning the foul smell of burning weed, whether it be tobacco weed or other weed, on balconies is a shame. If we analyse the outside airflow of a medium-rise apartment building, the warm air in the building rises, up to the roof. And this sucks in outdoor air through windows. The most sucking occurs on top floors. All this sucking can have deleterious effects on residents of such a building. Personally, due to this sucking, and for other reasons, I refuse to live in a high-rise, or mid-rise, building, unless all of the windows are sealed. In China, they do seal the windows, and they cannot be opened in hotels. But here in Thailand, the windows are opened, and then there is the sucking of air from balconies below. And, the sucking is very powerful. There are plenty of building design data sheets which prove this important point. I will not ONLY live in a detached house. Less noise. And, as I say, no sucking. Note: Also no balconies, if one chooses a single story house, and this is the best option.
  6. Don't be silly. It's too early in the day for that.
  7. 30 Baht for PadKraPao Gai is a fair price. It is the Goldilocks price in Chiang Mai. Anyway, you gotta pay a fair price to the restaurant owner. Otherwise the food doe not taste as good.
  8. ...as long as you don't need to live. The USA is crazy now. It's like they are all FROGS, simmering in the kettle, unable to jump out. I jumped out: I jumped out during the 1970s. First visit to Asia age 19. Then, return to uni. Then, upon graduation, Asia here I come. In essence, I have not lived in the USA since 1978. Instead, I saved my essence for East Asia. If one were to return to the USA, these days, the prices would be a continual thorn in one's side. But, as I say, most US Citizens have been living in their bubble for far too long. They are unable to envision any better way of life. And, life really WAS better in the 50s and 60s, with affordable everything. Education was almost free, at any school, due to gov support and also support from the school. Those days of almost free education are long over. Now, all that is left is that well-known Great Sucking Sound. The sound of sucking of the pennies and dimes from the common people to the Psychopaths on Top. This is why I always say: The Fact that Death Walks in this World is the greatest blessing God ever gave Mankind. If not for Death, then Life on Earth would be EVEN MORE of a HORROR SHOW..... Wishing you, as I say, a very Prosperous New Year, from the Chinese Perspective, in 2026.
  9. Prices for everything, these days, are skyrocketing, but not so much in Thailand, as we all know very well. We are lucky to be here...IMHO. I don't buy any products that are rapidly increasing in price. Why? I don't want to fuel the flames. I am a very conscientious shopper. And, I do not want to add to our world's rampant and increasing wealth inequality. Take Chockolate, as I just mentioned. Prices for everything including chokolate are going throught he roof. When food prices rices dramatically, this becomes an unfair tax on the poor. Where is all this money going, one might ask? Anyone care to reply?
  10. Yes. I agree. I now have to pay an arm-and-a-leg for chocolate, especially on Valentines Day... The most wondrous factor about this special chocolate is summed up in the company's convoluted wording, thusly: "As a chocolate manufacturer, we are committed to sublimating the very essence of cocoa to create unforgettable taste experiences."
  11. My electric power rates are not decreasing, as far as I know.
  12. 30 to 35 Baht near the uni, and much more tastey, too.
  13. Which dormitory was he living in? What is the rent there? This story is interesting from so many perspectives. Another observation: This dude seems to be wearing wireless headphones. And, he looks enraged. Do you think he might be listening to HEAVY METAL music, just to juice him up, in preparation for stabbing somebody?
  14. Just judging from the UPDATE video image shown above in the comments: a. One must wonder what mix of NATURE-NURTURE combines and conspires together to produce such a human specimen, by age 55...??? b. I love the stories of Conrad, Maugham and other great authors, when they write about RASCALS IN PARADISE. c. Clearly, human nature has not improved a bit, since Conrad's time. And, Heart of Darkness is just one of his very many great stories. d. Conrad should be read when one is young, and when one's juices are still flowing. What a loser: Is he from Kentucky, by the way? Or, maybe Mississippi? Such behavior in Mississippi often goes unnoticed, since crimes of this nature are an everday occurance.
  15. He is not proud, but only honest.
  16. Those countries? Different country names, but same culture, especially Vietnam and Japan. Korea is an outlier. Thailand is still heavily influenced by Chinese culture but is separate. Japan is completely guided by the Tang Dynasty culture. And everybody knows this, including these days...Gemini. The Japanese never admit that they are basically just Chinese living on an island. And, the Chinese would never accept them, either. Still: Same culture of the Tang Dynasty... Same writing system up to pre-WW1, etc. Same love of tea and Confucian values. Japan used to revere teachers, and China still does... Somewhat So, of course they celebrate the Lunar New Year. XinNianKuaiLe....新年快乐
  17. Before the 1990s, I recall that, after a big feast, paid for by the government-run company, and even though everyone was stuffed, having eaten their fill, the old Chinese guys would then order another two bowls of white rice, and gulp them down as if they had not just eaten a full meal. This is certainly one of the things that you will never see today: After a full meal, this older generation would be able to stuff down another two bowls of rice. And yet, they never got fat: They rode bicycles everywhere they went. But Chinese kids today... They don't know their own history, and instead... K-Plop is king... I miss the good old days when very litttle meant much more. The Chinese culture then was far stronger and much less diluted than it is now. Those were the good old days when a Famine actually MEANT something....
  18. Just one more observation, please, if I may..... This important observation involves actual usability of OpenClaw for the average user, and the average user is the target market of OpenAI, as we know. OpenAI is after the consumer market, just as Anthropic seeks the Enterprise Market. The problem with Sammy Boy's choice to welcome OpenClaw into the OpenAI fold is that OpenClaw presents far too many security risks to be even a bit useful, at this time, and for some time to come. Here is why: If a user wants OpenClaw to become useful, and perform tasks autonomously, then the user must grant broad permissions, such as granting access to email accounts, or maybe even a bank account, shudder shudder. If a user does NOT grant broad permissions, then OpenClaw is unable to act autonomously. And, in such case, what is OpenClaw useful for, anyway? Would you trust a human assistant to perform important tasks for you if he was an undependable, hallucinating psychotic? So then, why would you trust OpenClaw, since we all know the reliability of AI bots, by now.... If you want a more rational (unhyped) analysis of OpenClaw by someone who is qualified to do an analysis and who is not completely DRUNK on the Kool-Aide......then.... Please watch this vid. This guy provides a few welcome and considered opinions about the state of Agentic Systems, at this present time in AI history....
  19. I have real friends. BUT.... They are either Thai or Chinese. Do Thai and Chinese friends count?
  20. 18.1K, as of now. Must be using Agentic AI. No other logical explanation for this.
  21. Good clarification. I knew it was not Indian origin. But, still, who does not love it, especially lamb.
  22. That is.. Unless this form of address is being used facetiously, or ironically, as is always the case with me. You see: American Politicians love to refer to the average group of Americans as Folks. They do not speak to them. They Talk Down to Them. Americans love this word FOLKS. And, the beginning of use of this term is pretty much before my time. Only Americans would be willing to say: Folks! Lend me your ears!
  23. I must say though: Thai cooks do a dynamite job at FUSION CUISINE...meaning an amalgam of Thai-Food plus either Western-Food or Chinese-Food. I once had a great Vindaloo done by a Thai chef, but Vindaloo is a Western dish, or recipe, as far as I know. Anyway: Thai chefs are great at FUSION... (Am not talking about Nuclear Fusion, either.)
