  1. A sneaky bribe of 3,000 to 4,000 baht is all it takes to fast-track an inspection who'd have thunk it... 🙄
  2. Kid Creole would beg to differ, If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life Never make a pretty woman your wife So for my personal point of view Get an ugly girl to marry you
  3. that was obvious from the start, though he didn't do himself any favours by scarpering the scene instead of staying and trying to help.
  4. i know, it's so simple, keep a presence in the uk
  5. It’s the average Joe with little/no additional pension that feels this the most. or, who failed to plan ahead and make appropriate financial decisions in preparation for their old age
  6. nah, in bangkok they regularly rip up perfectly food pavements and replace, usually waiting several months between the rippimg up and replacing.
  7. not if i dont have a fungal infection...
  8. so, there's no domestic violence in your country? please enlighten us, or are you simply thai bashing?
  9. never mind the food, what about the basic hygiene? local street food vendors park their carts in a grotty soi near my place. not only is the soi dirty and full of rubbish, but i have seen, cats, dogs, rats, insects crawling all over the carts. i have never, ever, seen a vendor cleaning their cart either when knocking off work or preparing to start cooking food. i wouldn't go anywhere near food prepared and cooked in these conditions.
  10. exactly my thoughts, more responsible reporting would address what could/should be done to resolve the main problem here.
  11. pretty much always had more than one girl/woman on the go, living in london in the 80s/90s so much fun to be had, i easily had four girls on the go at the same time. not sure it would be so easy these days with smart phones. i dated a really cool thai lawyer and was pretty much 100% loyal to her, ironically she was so possessive that the relationship failed. sometimes you just can't win.
  12. having dated a couple of french girls, the french accent melts my heart
  13. it's not about the legality, it's about the safety. the law is there to protect idiots from themselves
  14. it may surprise you to learn that some, indeed many, people, not only in thailand but in western countries too live in poverty, even extreme poverty, situations. life for these people can be very tough, so to answer your question, very desperate.
  15. yea, isn't that a good thing? removing a potentially costly debt?
  16. nothing against EVs but the practicalities make them not worth my while. my apartment is modern and well managed but has no plans for charging points. and i don't live in one of the massive blocks, how will everyone charge their vehicles? possibly the govt should be making capital investment in infrastructure and not frittering away money for short term populist gain.
  17. mate, it's thailand, it's thai road users, sorry to say, but what do you expect? (for balance, other, non-thai, road users can be idiots too)
  18. they'll need to get receipts, keep and declare annual accounts, as any sole trader would. not sure the thai revenue infrastructure is up to it
  19. mate, when you've been here a bit longer you'll realise passport id is required for all sorts of things, just get used to it, it's really no big deal
