I was born short sighted, had been wearing glasses since age 7. I recently had one eye operated on for cataracts. The lens gave me perfect distance vision, can't see up close. I have grown quite accustomed to it and, since I only had cataracts in the one eye, I hope I can live like this to the end of my days. I WILL say that if you decide to go ahead with a procedure, get at LEAST two opinions. I went to one doctor who would have put in the wrong type lens (cheaper so more profit for him) AND he wanted to do BOTH eyes, unnecessary procedure (again strictly profit driven).

It's not necessarily just their physical attributes (or lack thereof). Since the advent of generations of kids addicted to their cell phones, the art of casual conversation is basically dead. Add to that the land mines one must avoid for sake of political correctness, it's essentially impossible to know how to chat in real life with a stranger.

I bought what was supposed to be police strength pepper spray, and when one of the beasts charged at me, I hit that bastard straight in the face. SOB merely licked it up like it was chicken soup. I now use an air pellet pistol, plastic pellets - NOT the metal ones which can be lethal. And I know there will be blowback on this post - "Oh you bad man, how could you?" IDGAF, the bastards only charge me once. The plastic pellets sting enough to really get their attention, no permanent harm done.
