I use a license that has my old passport number. Been working like a charm. And it's not like I'm trying to perform an illegal act. I just grow weary of the BS TM30 that IS required in some immigration offices and ISN'T in others, demonstrating that it IS a BS policy.

I highly recommend using a Thai drivers license if you can. They aren't linked to the TM30 system. If the hotel asks you for your passport, just tell them immigration has it. This has been working for me for some time now.

That's exactly the right time to force the Republicans' hand. President Musk is shutting down the government anyway, so little risk of hurting any further with a gubmint shutdown than is already being done by the DOGE-bags. And, yes, I retired after 27 years of combined military/civil service. I've been through a furlough or two.

I wouldn't bet money on that. Decisions like what Schumer just made are showing that the Democratic "leaders" are merely DINO's. It would have been understandable if Chuck had at least put up SOME kind of fight, demanded a concession or two. I've been living in Chanthaburi these last three years. This month I've had to make several trips to Pattaya for a root canal/crown replacement as my favorite dentist practices there. I don't know if it's me or if Pattaya just seems worse than I could ever imagine it. Horrendous traffic, rude foreigners, just a general feeling of malaise in the air. I used to think once I finished this teaching gig and finally retired, I would move back to Pattaya/Jomtien. Now, I'm not so sure.
