Thailand aims to become Southeast Asia’s leading halal hub by 2028

Trump appeals fraud case as $112,000-a-day interest accrues
HappyExpat57 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
The only way the orange-tinted fraud ever gets the shield of presidency is if he gets re-elected. Once the primaries are behind us, the coffee table debaters will settle down and reality will sink in. The majority of voters just plain don't like Joe. This is a statistical fact. However, even more folks REALLY don't like his opponent and the threat he represents if he ever worms his way back in. Once again, we'll have to hold our noses as we pull the lever and another sad election will be behind us, with Joe stumbling and bumbling along again. -

The wheels of justice grind VERY slowly, but also very fine. -
Not sure if you've heard anything about the IVF laws Alabama just put out there - basically they now define a frozen embryo as a person. The reasons for imposing such an atrocity was littered with Christian references. This has now stopped just about ALL doctors performing fertility procedures for fear of being arrested. The book "1984" and "The Handmaid's Tale" video series were supposed to be fiction. Christian Nationalists have taken them to heart and are making them law. These Christian Nationalists prefer to be called "Nationalist Christians" - or Nat C's for short.

Suddenly major investors are pulling out/steering clear of New York. The orange-tinted fraud is going to cost New York a LOT of money. Tired of winning yet? Make sure he doesn't worm his way back into the White House and that he has to put on an orange jumpsuit and things can go back to a semblance of order. -
Thailand's Future: What do you think?
HappyExpat57 replied to FruitPudding's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I have to disagree. Rent prices have almost doubled in Pattaya/Jomtien area over the last two years. I moved to Chanthaburi two years ago and keep tabs on rent costs as I had planned on eventually moving back, but if the advertised prices are reflecting actual costs, then Pattaya/Jomtien might become a nice place to visit but not to live. -

I've always used the last date I entered Thailand, not the original (for me) 2006 date. -

The Impeachment's Russia Connection: Unraveling a Fabricated Tale

As I wrote when this misinformant was exposed, Faux is STILL insisting there is (and I quote) "a treasure trove of evidence," yet when asked to share even ONE little bit, they hem, and haw, and shuffle their feet. And still people follow this crap blindly. I wouldn't care if it didn't have any impact on me or mine, BUT IT DOES! It impacts ALL of us, regardless of nationality. Shake My Effing Head.- 42 replies

"Big Joke's Junior" Sues Deputy Police Chief for Negligence

They're smelling blood in the water. -
1. The IO took care of any paperwork needed for this time and warned me that all future trips must be reported to them. 2. There was no fine. I am always polite and dress nicely, keeping my bare feet squarely on the floor, looking docilely forward while waiting for service - you know the drill. FWIW, after all was done and dusted, I returned with a nice bin of "Shadow" chocolates for the office to show my gratitude. I understand they could have made my life a little miserable over this and I think they recognized an honest mistake.

That's what I was thinking as well. She even brought out a copy of the report of my October hotel stay to make her point. I'll just make sure and report to them every time I leave the province for even a day if I check in to a hotel. Better safe than sorry. Have you ventured outside the province and stayed at a hotel then returned without reporting to them?

Is plastic recycling a hoax made up by Big Oil?
HappyExpat57 replied to flyingtlger's topic in General Topics
I used to be absolutely anal retentive about trying to recycle/reuse plastic even though I'd heard recycling was futile as many plastics aren't capable of being recycled. I do hold hope for the future, especially for the ocean where all our food chains begin: https://engineering.princeton.edu/news/2022/11/03/researchers-cook-new-way-remove-microplastics-water -
Cholnan Srikaew proposes new meth limit for small drug dealers
HappyExpat57 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
This has GOT to be one of the WORST things an ignorant politician has ever said. I've known too many people with an honest desire to quit whatever drug they were into undergo treatment multiple times. Ever been to an AA meeting? I doubt there is one person at any meeting anywhere that hasn't backslid multiple times. Same with NA. I'm not knocking the efforts to clean it up in LOS, but statements like this undermine their credibility.
