  1. Mag. 3.0 earthquake - 54 km west of Cha-am, Phetchaburi, Thailand, on Saturday, Jan 20, 2024, at 09:13 am
  2. professional truck driver ... ... STOP LOOK LISTEN ... do you really need a manned RR crossing. Common sense has kept me from kissing a train. That was 1 idiot's fault, and really hard to even call that an accident. Suicide maybe Sucks for the train operator ... R I P
  3. We compromised a couple months of mediocre (AQI ~100+/-), for one of the prettiest areas to live, and more importantly, only 3+ hours from daughter @ Krung Thep. Or else we may have went further south. Surat Thani or Phang-nga (not Samui or Khao Lak) would be in the top 5 list. Maybe Ranong, NST, Krabi (non touristy) rounding out the others. That seems to be where we go most times to relax ... from relaxing at PKK Chumphon definitely gets an honorable mention. Really can't think of any where else that would interest us.
  4. Yes ... and why already stated. I keep my most important document with me. Right next to my bank book & yellow house book. In the same bag, with my 2nd most important thing to carry ... 'Swensen's' member card
  5. Ranong probably one of, if not best provinces for fresh air. Reason being, it's also one of the wettest, and less populated. With much of it land along the main roads, being a bit hilly and not farming friendly, for fields of crops anyway. More so for orchard type, larger plants needing more individual space. Perennials fruits instead of annuals, requiring yearly replanting crops. Trat is pretty good also, or so I read, and for the same reason. One of the wettest and least populated. Was quite nice recently, when the rest of the areas north of us at PKK, were just starting smog season.
  6. Before, no major problems, until speaking out against the MSM spin of covid vaccines. Paraphrased from above wiki link: ".. was listed as one of The Sunday Times 500 most influential people in 2016, and was twice recognized as one of the top fifty black and minority ethnic community member pioneers in the UK's National Health Service by the Health Service Journal ... He held specialist registrar positions at St James's University Hospital in Leeds and Blackpool Victoria Hospital. Malhotra has held cardiology posts with the UK National Health Service as a cardiology specialist registrar at Harefield Hospital, at the Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead and as an Honorary Consultant Cardiologist at Frimley Park Hospital. He is a former Consultant Clinical Associate to the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges and is a visiting professor at Bahiana School of Medicine and Public Health, Salvador, Brazil. In 2015 he was appointed as a trustee of the King's Fund and was reappointed for a further three years in 2018. In addition to his work as a cardiologist, he has been described as a "highly regarded public health campaigner" and an anti-obesity expert who is "passionate about tackling the companies and policies responsible for creating ... an obesogenic environment". ... In 2013 he was recognized in the inaugural list of the top 50 BME Pioneers in the NHS Health Service Journal, for his research on sugar rich diets and obesity and cardio-vascular disease and for his public health campaigns, including profit-making of big corporations at the expense of public health, unhealthy hospital meals and sale of junk food in hospitals [8] The judges commented that "Yes. He challenges people". In 2014 he was recognized for a second year running in the Health Services Journal top 50 BME Pioneers: described by the judges as "An upcoming star", the entry recognized that he had ignited a debate about over-investigation, over-diagnosis and overmedication and brought media attention to the BMJ's "Too much medicine" campaign. ... At the end of 2013, Malhotra won the accolade of being named a "Food Hero" for the Children's Food Campaign for his campaigning against junk food being marketed to children and sugar filled vending machines in hospitals" After you speak out against mRNA vaccines ... ... "In 2021, Malhotra was appointed chair of the scientific advisory committee[30][25] of the small UK charity The Public Health Collaboration. On 20 Feb 2023, the Public Health Collaboration announced that Malhotra was no longer part of the organisation. In January 2023, a group of doctors, including some General Practitioners, called on the UK General Medical Council to investigate Aseem Malhotra’s fitness to practice due to what they claim is his ‘high-profile promotion of misinformation about Covid-19 mRNA vaccines’. On 2 June 2023, the doctors took the first formal step in legal proceedings against the GMC by sending them the formal pre-action protocol letter. This stated 'we are bringing this legal action because we believe that the GMC, as the official regulator of doctors’ professional standards, has a duty to act in this case." Take note, there never seems to be a follow up after the out spoken are discredit in the pubic domain. I've seen this over & over, along with the purging of so much info on the internet. Many receiving accolades, awards ... until speaking out against the mRNA vaccines. Then they are 'under investigation' .... but never the results of the investigation reported. hmm ... go figure
  7. hmm ... in my world, that would be contradictory With any luck (lots of), I'll be alive around 2036. Might be interesting, or just another boring CC year. So far ... loving the CC.
  8. @TallGuyJohninBKK Pay attention @ 9:36 onward: "Yesterday, consultant cardiologist Dr Aseem Malhotra, who is a world-leading expert in the causes of heart disease, told TNT Radio that even though cardiovascular disease is multifactorial, top of the list in the hierarchy of causes behind excess cardiac-related deaths has to be the experimental covid mRNA vaccine until proven otherwise. This is not speculative. Dr Malhotra’s point is not speculative but based on the highest level of data that combines plausible biological mechanism, randomised control trials, high-quality observational data, pharmacovigilance data, autopsy data and clinical data. Those who choose not to acknowledge these cold, hard facts are either unaware of the evidence, wilfully blind or lacking in conscience."
  9. Where to buy ... may have vendor nearby, instead of online w/shipping cost.
  10. Or at least offered to the parents, if wanting, pick up at school.
  11. Is it also a pressure cooker ? I think that's what sets it/Ninja & Instant Pot apart from TH's offerings, along with name recognition, and decent track record. Does come at a price point though.
  12. Oh crap ... well that explains a lot ... ... why I snooze so easy when idle, waiting for the wife to shop. How did I not realize that? Just hope I don't fall asleep while driving the MG ZZZZs ... Seagull ... does that come with a tether & ground anchor?
  13. Check the YT reviews, see how it compares. Both seem to get good reviews. If I didn't have too many appliances already, seems like a good one to have, complimented with an inexpensive air fryer for quick snacks. Small counter foot print and low energy use with those two. On the air fryer, I just picked up this one, and a bit redundant for me, but warming up to it.
  14. They so sell the instant pot here, and about the same ball park price. Saw one on LAZ/15K baht, states imported from UK. With that in mind, might want to check UK/EU Amazon sites, for Ninja, since familiar with, and may be cheaper even with S&H added.
  15. Iron rich foods that Thais do eat, though question a couple: Meat and Eggs Beef Chicken Pork Dried beef Liver Eggs (any style) Seafood Shrimp Clams Scallops Oysters Tuna Mackerel Vegetables Spinach Sweet potatoes Peas Broccoli String beans Dandelion greens Kale Chard Fruit Watermelon Beans and Other Foods Tofu Beans (kidney, garbanzo, or white, canned) Tomato Dried beans Corn syrup ???
  16. Didn't see this comment early ... why did I waste my time ... ... good luck
  17. Almost 3 kms away ... Newly built about 1 yr ago. Such hardships in rural TH.
  18. You mean I could have spent only 5+M baht more, and gotten to the 7-11 in almost half time Damn you ZS ... MG ZS EV D model - 0 - 100 km/h◂0 - 62 mph: 8.6s
  19. Don't forget, even if fenced in area:
  20. Of course CC is real. Feel free to send some of that rain down here. Be a nice addition to the overnight temps of late, and quite comfy. If not for the slightly higher air pollution, we could leave the AC off and have the evening air flow through the house. Though not the best idea all night, as RH is still way too high. But a quick breeze to cool down the house naturally would be nice. So the ACs stay on all night to knock the humidity down and clean the air.
  21. They should not be giving iron supplement to children. Even though iron is water soluble, it is still stored in the body, and can definitely be a problem for some people. Hope it states the amount in the supplement. Depending on diet, may want or to avoid. "Kids ages 4–8 years need 10 milligrams while older kids ages 9–13 years need 8 milligrams"
  22. I bought a couple kg to test out. Not so much for price, though a plus, but for reserve when I'm too lazy to go to store, when we run out. Usually have a stash of UHT, but that was silly priced last time I saw it on the shelf, and they don't stock as much, so iffy supply. Use to be pallet/skid of it at Makro, now (maybe because of price), just a small amount on the shelf. Main reason ... states makes 7 L, so I'm thinking, make 6 L or less, and it will taste better. A lot of the milk sold world wide is from milk powder. Not so much here/TH though, and that I've noticed on the labels.
  23. A rebuttal to your prejudice ... why waste my time. Some reading for you . Y'all are hopelessly lost within yourselves. Have a nice day = don't bother, as I won't reply.
