  1. Global House or HomePro should have something similar.
  2. Been 95 for a long time, at least 6 months, I think
  3. Sadly, even the authentic ones, don't actually contain what they say. Why I stick with Kirkland, for my multi & Vit C Having USP Verified mark. When tested, always contain what they state. Not a whole lot of brands on that list.
  4. Apologies ... ... as I eat a bowl of cereal most every day. Ice cream on a weekly basis. Black Coffee at home, and Cappuccinos when out.
  5. Not much is going to change, as you really do need your own transport. The public transport infrastructure isn't really there for most tourist, along with attractions. As the article points out, it really is for people who want to avoid the congestion elsewhere. And don't mind driving a bit extra to do it.
  6. Not sure if comparing bad fecal count beaches to worse fecal count beaches is the best marker for a clean beach. I'm a bit suspect (***) on a couple of these: The top 10 beaches with the cleanest sea water are: 1. Thung Wua Laen Beach (Chumporn province) 👍 2. Haad Rin (Surat Thani) 3. Bang Ben (Ranong) 4. Kai Bae (Trad) *** 5. Sai Kaew (Rayong) *** 6. Chaweng Noi (Surat Thani) 7. Hin Ngam (Nakhon Si Thammarat) 8. Pak Bara (Satun) 9. Chan Damri (Ranong) 10. Pak Kor (Phan Nga) Only swam at #1 TWL, and always nice when surf is cooperating. Same for Ban Krut, not on list, but will swim there also. Locally, PKK, Ao Manao, and last 2 times ears underwater, got ear infection. At least it didn't make top 10 list, as previously in top 5 list of cleanest beaches. Haven't been in the surf locally since. NO PHUKET beaches, and not much of a surprise.
  7. Just finished it, 1st time, and quite enjoyed it. Held me over for couple weeks, while other current series completed. Hate watching anything weekly and prefer to binge. Did the same with 'Person of Interest', a month earlier, though did watch it when originally released. Worth a watch if never seen or need some filler. Got 'The Wire' downloaded for the next big lull in downloads. Never watched, and 'drug gang' movies aren't my thing, but has a few actors I like. Q'd for after I clear the current series & movie files out.
  8. So nothing has really changed. But really ... Who would leave their province without their passport ? ... "or with a non-Thai ID card or a driver's license issued by the Thai government."
  9. No argument here, as I quite like NST. Even have a few friends down there. A bit of a drive for us, I hrs, but worth it. Always add a overnight on the way. Might be headed that way soon.
  10. The four main themes – control control control control ... of ... media money movement medicine
  11. This seems to be the one most recommended for heart issues w/price consideration: Queen Sirikit Heart Center of the Northeast No personal experience or price guess. If you know exactly what you need, could always ring them up (email) and ask them for a ballpark price.
  12. What's that noise ... ... that's mommy calling, your PB&J is ready, come out of the basement.
  13. Great ... another 'what if scenario' ... If a disaster, the last thing anyone is going to be concerned about, is their house or auto. If the grid is down, do you think every petrol station has a back up genny ? During black outs, try geting petrol or even just going to 7-11 in TH. "Sorry, everything is off" And yes, you can store electric, just like diesel. They have some nice solar generators now, great for the weekend camper. And who stores diesel or petrol at the house, more than enough to mow the lawn. If a 12-24hr black out, I know I can run the house off the car, actually for about 5 days. Or I could even sleep in the car in AC comfort overnight @ ~1kWh an hour. Even brew a cup of coffee in the morning and or make a full brekkie
  14. Some new words/phrases for you: ... open minded ... unprejudicial ... not a bigot A friend, co-worker, family member that I've known for 5-10-20-30 years, or all my life decides to come out, if I didn't already know, and what, I no long associate with them, love them, care about them. How really F'd up are you ? Would you disown your son or daughter if they were gay ? They tolerated straight clubs, so I think I can tolerate alternative lifestyle clubs. Actually some of the best damn clubs I've been in. Try doing a hit of LSD, and going to a 'impersonator' show ... now that's a freakin' trip ... Wow ... I just heard Marilyn Monroe singing
  15. Whoa ... competition is a beautiful thing .... ฿฿฿ in the pocket Where were they (GWM & BYD) 2 years ago ? I could have save ฿80k
  16. If at Bangkok, try EC Mall @ Fortune Town(Rama 9), as the sell Leica, and should be able to help or point you in the right direction. Fortune Town, 2nd floor - 082-551-1535
  17. Good heads up. Also people should watch out for the same, houses put up for collateral, without their partner's knowledge. Many think it's free money. Farang build, buys/pays for new house. In wife's name, who refinances it, for what ever reason. Maybe even a good one, that goes tits up. Worse if paying off a gambling debt, or help a friend/family member that had no intentions of paying back. It's only farang's money ... he no need Why my first 3 cars were entry level POSs (Vios & Mazda 2), that I wouldn't have owned in USA. Dependable, but basically crap for comfort on the road. As not knowing if I was staying, or was going to walk away from them, quick sale & loss. First 2 in my name, since not really trusting Thai partner #! that much, and then very single when buying 2nd. 3rd was in future wife's name (already lived together for 6 yrs), and couldn't turn down that 100k baht tax rebate to new car owners.
  18. Describe long ... We have solar at house, and are unofficially 'off grid'. Over a 14 hr period of no production, we use 25-30% of our ESSs on average. With 2 frigs, AC on all night, 65" TV and couple laptops being used till about midnight (6hrs). At 30%, that's 6kWh of our 20kWh ESSs. Our EV has 46.3kWh of usable battery. When we're O&A, the house uses <5kWh a day. Do the math.
  19. No tick for tack, as you simply prove my point, students that apply themselves, can reach their goals. Those that don't, will be left behind, as the system, any system, doesn't care. Fairly obvious when you can have drop out rates of 25-50%, if not more, as one member pointed out. TH no different than any other country or students applying themselves. My daughter has friends, many going to same or other Bangkok Uni s, but instead of getting the internships while there on last year, then a job and working at a successful life, they partied on, and simply returned to their family & friends back in Isan (Udon Thani), that doesn't provide much for job opportunities. If they were going to do that, they could have saved their parents a few baht, and simply went to the local Rajabhat University .
  20. By simply being on this site would lend to that thought. White collar folks with money, might come to TH once on a holiday, then afterward think ... "Why do people return ?" Unless of course they limo from posh resort to post resort, avoiding all in between. Don't think you find them in the back of a tuk tuk headed to soi cowboy/nana plaza or Soi 6 or bangla rd. They just have their fun delivered via room service. Them folks would be on the Fodors or Frommer's travel site/forum, that would cater to them, or don't even bother with forums, and simply have their 'personal assistant' plan something for them
  21. Seriously ... would you like to see their parent's tax returns also, and what car they drive. My daughter didn't go to an international school here/TH. Actually damn inexpensive high school, about 35k baht, all in for whole year. Uni (top 5 for TH) wasn't much more, and she is on her way to early retirement in 20 yrs. As stated earlier, good job, plus self employed, w/RE investment, and all of 24 yrs old. And the little bi-atch lives in a 5+M baht condo. Amazing when students apply themselves, at school, and in life.
