  1. That happened last year ... I'm avoiding that happening again.
  2. We renewed at ฿11.4k, and received 'rebate' of ฿1400 to 'True Wallet', which we spent already, so ฿10k for insurance. Insured value of ฿860k which is 1k more than sales price for new MG ZS EV Actually cheaper than the coverage for the ICE version, (considering insured value) which was valued at ฿400k at time of sale and under policy. That policy was about ฿8.5k, though a different vendor. ฿222.3k ... That's just silly. Who'd pay that for insurance. Totally irrelevant since we live in THAILAND
  3. Wonder why ... ... "Since President Biden took office, prices have increased cumulatively by 17.4 percent, while hourly wages have increased only 13 percent. In looking at the past seven presidents, only Jimmy Carter had a bigger inflation rate, 26.2 percent, at a similar point in his presidency. For the past four presidents, their Presidential Inflation Rate was in single digits, and, specifically, Biden’s PIR is triple that of where Donald Trump (5.6 percent) and George W. Bush (5.4 percent) were at this point in their first terms." source source
  4. Mine was dated 17 Oct, and just sent it back; 1st mailing, slow & cheap 2nd mailing next week 3rd the week after One should make it through, and cheaper than sending 1 express/registered, as apparently that didn't make it last time.
  5. At times, I do tend to respond in kind ... 😎
  6. I try .. try to live by ... ... if you have nothing nice to say, best to simply be quiet
  7. No additional cost, as the system IS REQUIRED for the house. That it produces enough excess on most days to charge the EVs, it's simply a plus. EV charging wasn't a consideration when contracting to have solar installed. We had just bought a new ICEV about the same time. Having solar, simply motivated the choice of the EV, along with that very nice (240k) gov't incentive.
  8. NEDC / 403 kms per charge WLTP / 320 kms per charge Actual 11.3kWh per 100 kms = 409.7 kms 10.7kWh per 100 kms = 432.7 kms 9.3kWh = 497.8 kms Winner is, (due to very hilly / regen) ... 5kWh = 926 kms 🤣 info about
  9. Don't hurt yourself thinking ... Looks family friendly to me ...
  10. Couch Time ... ... and how does that make you feel ? To answer the thread title ... ... I celebrated when pop died ... nuff said ... and how does that make you feel ? ... pretty F'g good actually 😎
  11. Yep ... ... while on Thai road for 3ish hours, I need to P, dog needs to P, wife needs to P. Time to stretch the legs, get a snack and or coffee. Maybe confirm that hotel reservation since now I know I'm actually here. Lots of option, pit stops, to do all .... while I'm at it ... ... I think I'll plug the car in. Which pit stop to choose ? That's some difficult thinking ... that Ph'd is coming in handy.
  12. Taken from about 50 meters, above the house ...
  13. I rarely go with the wife to check into hotel, as I'm parking the car, and wait with the dog till she's done. I give her my pink ID, so she has something to give them, IF, they ask, which is rare. With pink ID, they can't do TM30, as doesn't have the proper info, or so I was told. This an old habit from when you had to do a TM30 when returning home, so avoided the need for that, by not using PP. Doesn't seem to be a problem with chain, Ibis being a favorite of ours due to pet friendly. Smaller, non chain hotels couldn't be bothered, as one less thing for them to do.
  14. Maybe they should pass a bill to restrict celebrities from flying private jets to events on Earth Day, so they can tell us how to 'save the planet'
  15. An expect response, and almost didn't post because of that. Expect more to follow. Won't reply, just expressing my thoughts, after reading the first couple replies. Title asked ... I answered. Not my fault you don't like the answer ... cheers
  16. Sorry mates, not a fan at all. One reason I couldn't live, or even visit there. Not a fan of Brit, or Indian food. And fish & chips ... only one thing comes to mind. How to ruin a good piece of white fish ... ... deep fry it. When lived in Udon Thani, did eat my fair share of meat pies (steak & shrooms), but think I was there more for the pints, black & tan/Guinness & Kilkenny. Pies may have simply been a break from Thai food & Pizza. Was a regular at Brit Pub in Philly, during happy hour, as having one of the best beer selections. But never ate there, which bartender always chuckled about, knowing I was going to pig out as soon as I left.
  17. Yep ... ... another day, another thread, another on that list 🙄
  18. I use Chrome exclusively, and seems you need to open everything in a new tab, which I actually do anyway.
  19. Another false narrative ... NETA V starts @ ฿549k and cheaper than most, if not all, 4 cyl /AT, entry level 'made in TH' JP badged cars. MGs start @ ฿771k and cheaper than most JP badged imports of comparable quality.
  20. Same a JBCR, I consistently get more than the WLTP rating locally, 360 kms vs rating of 320 kms. Mixed speeds or 30-60-90 kph. Impressed with the 300 kms on open road @ 90 kph, considering almost 2X the WLTP test speed of 47 kph, and not in perfect conditions, using the AC & Cruise control. At the end of a 3+ hr leg, usually average about 80 kph. TH not exactly having non-stop inter province roadways.
  21. We get nice panoramic sunrises ... trees bloke sunsets
