Did you replace your truck yet ?

Certainly never stated that anywhere, or ever will. Electronic, especially newer tech is always going to be quirky and have it's issues. MG solved most with the ZS over the past 5 yrs. Not that I would have been one of the first to buy, lesson learned long ago, but would have kept me from buying in 5 yrs ago, if thinking that way. I have a couple functions (driver assist) disabled, as not a fan, and they need perfecting, especially on Thai road. Though quite happy with the rest of the car.

Bangkok scorched at 38°C with thunderstorms looming

I like the 'wonderground' site for weather. Fairly accurate, with nice 10 day forecast chart. Also has the low/high expected with the 'feel like' temp. -
OP may want to listen and take the advice of beach goers that actually live here/TH. Many, most poster do not, and or haven't visited in years. Even when visiting, may not even go into the surf, so there opinions are 'dated' to be kind. Current YT vids from the non-OMG reviewers may help also, as you can filter the seatch 'time' to current month. One stormy year, and the beach can easily be transformed, for good or bad, with the shifting sand. Common sense will tell you a long shallow beach in the blazing sun, will not be refreshing to many. Ao Manao at RTAF Wing 5 @ Prachuap Khiri Khan is a fine example of that. As are many of the Gulf beaches; Ban Krut and Thung Wua Laan, which are a couple favorites of mine. Though TBH, haven't actually been in them lately, for that same reason, not very refreshing on hot day, along with fecal counts. Andaman Sea is best choice for a 'beach' holiday, if planning on playing in the surf. It was stellar during most of covid, and we were there (Phuket) quite often then. But the tourist are back so there's that to deal with. Besides the numbers of, there's fecal count to consider, because of the number of tourist, and has got to be higher also. During covid, 5 people in the surf was rare, and that's not an exaggeration. Gulf beach holiday, best recommendation, surfside hotel with an infinite pool view. Doesn't get any better. The Gulf being iffy on any given day. At least CYA, so GF and or kids won't blame you for a crap holiday.

Yay on the Thunderstorm part, and hopefully a very early rainy season. Last outing and the temps were getting up there 35ish, and feels like 40ish. Kind of takes your motivation of walking around & exploring away in the afternoon sun. Good think I'm a morning person. Careful out there, stay hydrated. -
To add to that, some vendor's apps allow you to reserve a time slot, with a cancellation time period, if not showing up. We don't bother with reserving, as usually a spur of the moment decision to pull into a PTT anyway, as not really to charge the car. Just gets charged while we are there, as seems silly not to, since there. If traveling on weekends a lot, I read Q's do exist, so reserving may be beneficial. Only time we actually reserve, is if we are going to a MG charger at the dealer. MG only allows you to reserve 15 mins before arrival anyway, and restricted to MG 'member card' holders, issued to MG owners. Although the charger will accept other EVs, as long as you have a registered card. HAPPY MOTORING @UWEB Here's 2 threads that don't get much airtime, one for 'real ev users experience' and one for 'Charging Stations'

I use Charge Loma for quick reference, as has all the vendors, although I only filter the 4 that we use, not all of them as shown above. Yes, that screenshot is from the Charge Loma app. on GPlay That also is not current, and you'll need the individual vendor apps, for current info. Which you need anyway when actually charging at CSs. They have up to date locations, if operating, and if being used, how many plugs open & available. All quite simple once past the learning curve.

Thailand house of representatives approves same-sex marriage bill

You all are going to have to wait till it squeaks by the Senate, before you're dancing in the streets. You might be setting yourself up for yet another disappointing time. Hang in there, sooner or later, you'll all be able to be just as miserable as the divorced cis folks. Damned if you do, if you do get the right, damned if you don't ... but you'll always have something to complain about. See, there's always a bright side to what ever the vote is. -
You sold it ... good choice, and hope you at least picked up a Neta V, though I know you'll never admit it Yes, I enjoy saving money while driving a much better performing vehicle. Who wouldn't ? We have more than enough to get by, thanks for your concern, as retirement and wife & kids future was very well planned. And growing faster than we can spend it, and kind of mind boggling actually. Opinions are easy to face, it's the fake facts and unrealistic scenarios that trolls post that are silly, and don't deserve replying to, once realizing they are simply trolling. They are the ones that can't face FACTS. I would never own another vehicle, that uses a fuel, that degrades the parts of the vehicle every time you drive it. That's just stupid. And pay for that stupidity. Petrol knocking of 40 baht again, and EV owners are the idiots. Let that one sink in .... take as long as you need, Don't hurt yourself.

We usually charge 30/35-90/95%, as I actually timed it, and 1% loads the same until it gets in the 90+% range. Up to 95%, then it noticeable slows down, to silly slow. This applicable to the MG ZS. That last 5% will take about 20 minutes to load, of so the car states, as we've never hung around to find out. I would have to be researching and of booking something or trolling AN to be there that long. Although our recent outing, we seemed to stop way more than usual, wife, myself & dog's bladder just don't retain as much, and we seemed to have the munchies more, and I'm not even smoking anything. We stop, we plug in, then we take care of business, leisurely, as it is on outing, not a work day, and time isn't money. Max time I've been at a charging station is about 45 ish minutes, meaning we were <30%, and topped up to 95% I don't how he can't see the number of fast chargers (one plug type filtered) that I see on the apps, as showed him the total, along with 3 separate vendors for Chonburi, and hard to believe he had a model 3 and be so impractical with his use & numbers, quoting times of 0-100% as if people are that stupid with their EVs. Technically true, if you're a total idiot. We took ours down to <18% one time, and never again, as that scared the hell out of me. As the CS was inop, and next one was just down the road, but if that one would have been iniop And I didn't want to be that guy, plugging in the granny charger and sleeping in the car at PTT

Aside from the very affordable EVs, solar systems are a fraction of the cost in the USA, so makes having an EV even more advantageous. We are basically off grid, with more than enough excess to keep the EVs charged up. And ... basically NO RE Taxes to speak of. That's a lot of extra pocket money every month; No RE tax no petrol cost no electric bill water bill less than $10 a month, more like $5
-
I guess you can't read the post above ... no deception, but please, keep repeating it. Though don't expect any further replies.

Plan ... really ... While on the road ... Honey, I got to 'P', or I'm hungry ... OK, where's the next PTT EV station this side of the road. Other side if having to P that bad. That's some tough planning, don't know how we do it. I know, you guys just use a bottle while driving on the road for 6 hours. Oh wait, you have a Celerio .... please stop talking to me. In case you didn't see my other post, on our latest O&A, cost was about ฿2000 vs ฿6000 for petrol is using our ICE version of same car. No real planning, and doing the exact same, as if owning an ICEV when out & about. AND ... it's more fun to drive, and more comfortable.

blatantly lied ... as I suspected BYE BYE Use better apps, get better info FYI ... Chonburi screenshot is for charging station that use this plug (only one filtered), which is for fast charging: Again, this is what's available, using that plug, so please point out the deception: this is what's on the PlugShare app, and usually not current: To add, just the fast charge plugs at PEA: I don't have EV Station app on my phone, but here's a not up to date from Gmap, and usually located at PTT staions: : CAN'T FIND A FAST CHARGER ... YOU'RE NOT LOOKING VERY HARD
-
If having a model 3, why would you make a silly statement, it takes 1-2 hrs to charge. And the car doesn't dictate anything, we simply charge while we are doing things. We pull into the PTT Parks to 'P', walk the dog, and get a munch while on the road, and while there, top up the car. Or if convenient, top up the car while at a restaurant, options abound;

Should be no problem, and will plug into a normal wall socket as ours only puts out 2.3kWh, not much more than a higher powered microwave or oven. It's call the 'emergency or granny' charger, and what we use 99% of time, unless we are out of town. Our charging time is limited, as we use solar, but so far, never an issue charging, unless a week of crap overcast & rain. Then we might use the supplied/installed by dealer, wall charger, but very rare. As we have an E-Motorcycle also, so never without something to drive. Should easily charge up 50% overnight and more than enough to get back to 100%, if limited driving during the day. Our MG ZS has a 50.3kWh battery (46.3kWh usable), and here's info on that:
-
You certainly don't own or know much about EVs. Ours goes from 30% to 95% in <40 mins, or the time it takes for the wife & myself to 'P', walk the dog, and get a munch. Car is usually done (@90-95%) before or about same time we are, or we'll let it keep going, if nobody is waiting to plug in. The last 5% does take about 20 mins, so we usually never bother waiting, unless actually doing something. Frankly, I think you're an idiot if taking your EV to 20-25%, or lower, while O&A. For us, that's 3+ hrs on the road anyway, using 60-65%, so a break is welcomed, if we even last that long. Any intelligent person doesn't take it below 25%, and the largest battery (affordable) in TH is 82kWh, I think, most in the 50-60kWh range, so rarely more than 1 hr, unless very low, and topping up to 100%, and as stated, why bother with the last 5%, that's silly long for little benefit. BYE BYE

Hmm ... buy one of those, or a house, let me think a sec... ... a house seems a bit more practical, and every house I've owned cost less, and appreciated. I don't do car show, so couldn't tell you. Only shop when ready to buy something, as looking at cars, doesn't do much for me. The lasses wouldn't be too hard on the eyes to peek at though. I do prefer a more natural look, without the applied coverings & exaggerated features.

filter <50kW (48 or 49). Still pretty fast, and since many EV, mine include, won't accept 100kW, then seems a bit senseless. MG ZS will accept 76kW. I usually only need about 30kW when topping up, if that, as will leave somewhere between 85-95%, or whenever we're done doing what we're doing. Actually made to 100% the other day, but don't think we start much below 45%, as needed a toilet break & a munch. Also, which I just realized the other day when planning, the PhugShare site & app, show vastly different number of chargers. For some reason, app show many more. Thought that a bit strange. Charge Loma app a bit better, but still not as good as the vendor apps, as current. Most of apps on wife's phone, so I just ask her to pick the next one/EV Station Pluz, when time to stop to 'P' & munch. My screenshot was probably from Charge Loma and are fast charger 49kw & up

EV Owners … Real life experience & help thread
KhunLA replied to KhunLA's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
O&A the past 9 days, (Mar 17-26), PKK (municipality) to Betong, Yala. Down fairly direct route. Return, popped over to Andaman Sea side, and up through Phang Nga. Very nice outing. Total of 2254 kms, with 125 kms of those exploring 7 days on the road, average of 300 kms/3-4 hrs per day. 1st & last day, a bit longer. EV cost, appox ฿2000 If same with same car but ... ICEV, then cost would have been about ฿6000 We owned both version of the MG ZS No issues finding & using CS. Only 1 Q encountered, and while deciding where to go to next, all of 5 mins, they unplugged, so can't really say we experienced a Q at CS yet. That's traveling over one weekend also (2 Sundays, Friday & Saturday). 2 nights at Betong, only 1 night at other stops, as most repeat visits to the area, with exception of Hat Yai, spent 1 night, each direction there, for 2 nights. One of those visiting with our cousin & wife. Basically R&R away from home.
