  1. "Until the conflict of the 1970s, the 20th Century had seen relatively steady progression for women's rights in the country. Afghan women were first eligible to vote in 1919 - only a year after women in the UK were given voting rights, and a year before the women in the United States were allowed to vote. In the 1950s purdah (gendered separation) was abolished; in the 1960s a new constitution brought equality to many areas of life, including political participation." Then came a coup, RU & USA/UK/NATO ... ... Good Job, way to make life better ???? https://www.amnesty.org.uk/womens-rights-afghanistan-history
  2. eVolt only has 52 CS, what was I thinking ???? Maps for MG, PEA Volta, EA Anywhere & EV Station Pluz There's always PlugShare to fill in any gaps. PlugShare having updates & reviews, Along with CS apps, letting you know what's available or not (maintenance or inop) You shouldn't need to show and be disappointed, IF, checking prior to. IF YOU CAN'T FIND A CS ... YOU'RE NOT LOOKING VERY HARD
  3. Yea, them 3 letters. Thanachart was nice, till the merger. Wife hates it now, but they do give more interest on large deposits than BBL. Not much, but any wee bit helps.
  4. OK ... we broke down and got a CC ... ???? Since 3 of the popular CS prefer, require payment by, direct or via app, tied to CC. EA Anywhere, eVolt & EV Station Pluz. Still prefer MG & PEA Volta. Need to check out MEA EV, as they're around Krung Thep and at 7-11s, or plan to be. Banks here SUCK. ttb (Thanachart & TMB merger (THANKS ), and they actually require CC placed against 1 mill baht account balance, maybe because wife in not employed. Since a newb, her credit rating would suck anyway. Obviously we're not using those accounts, and why we don't have CC or Debit cards in Thailand. My USA VISA card, if used, I'm guessing since not in my 'buying habits' would get declined for the first few uses, so scratch that. They are actually a little too good at that, and a good thing. BkkBank/BBL ... easier to get, but silly charge, yearly, if you don't use. If don't use the CC, for 5k baht worth of purchases, they charge you 3000+ baht, for yearly fee. Card itself cost 260 baht, renamed a 'holding fee' ???? Another reason we don't have plastic here, as hate paying to have access to your money, that they are profiting from already. And if you cancel, end agreement with the CC, they charge you another 260 baht, guess that is called 'unhold fee'. These rules may only apply to non working, new credit folks .... maybe. Be interested if for all, or we're special. I myself didn't even ask about a CC with my BBL account. Since unemployed, they/BBL require 30k in account, as 'security deposit'. Curious how long it takes before they actually trust you to make payment toward purchases. 45 day grace to avoid any interest payments. Banks SUCK, tie with Insurance companies and Lawyers, unless representing ME ???? So my apologies if you are stuck behind us at Makro the next 3 visits, as that will fulfill the 5k requirement. So we're good for: MG , PEA Volta ... app EA Anywhere, EV Station Pluz, & eVolta ... app and /or CC required Chickie we met at EV Station said debit card is accepted also.
  5. Local driving, or local O&A (out & about), less than 200 kms round trip, of course no prob, charging at home, especially if having solar. As far as longer O&As, looking at my past 3 yrs of, and not one place would I not have a CS or 3 to top up at. As you can see, we get O&A quite a bit.
  6. Keep Biden, just think of the alternative ... ???? The puppeteers are doing a fine job, as long as you don't live in the USA, or actually rely on the govt or corporate world for your livelihood. INDEPENDENCE of both is FREEDOM
  7. Safe & Effective ... ???? trust·wor·thy adjective able to be relied on as honest or truthful. Here's a few drug manufacturers that don't fall in the 'trustworthy' definition. I just picked the ones I'm familiar with. Paraphrased by me, from wiki (linked) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_largest_pharmaceutical_settlements
  8. 2 sides to every story ... maybe you fit the look and disposition of undesirable folks coming to TH, and he was simply doing his job. Many undesirables are caught out during questioning. Kudos to IO for taking the time and effort.
  9. PKK .. Hasn't dipped much below 20°, but the winds have been 35-40 kph, making it feel quite brisk. Finally dying down to 20 kph range.
  10. I don't know about token honky, but being the 'rich single' guy at bar/club sure doesn't hurt your prospects of leaving with some fine company. We are all millionaires after all, and millionaires in any country don't have to P4P, if having any intelligence at all. Being handsome doesn't hurt either.
  11. Reports of 10 of the 31 missing were found was incorrect. Those were actually from a freighter, Anuphum, that also sank. Along with others: https://www.khaosod.co.th/breaking-news/news_7421235 The Gulf is a busy place...
  12. Does stand to reason, since it is a list from China, of mostly, if not all, Chinese cars ????
  13. There were reports of 4 meter waves, and from the vid, sailors in the rear, since Thai, doubt if they are 2 meter tall. Compare their height, down to the water line, then 4 meter waves, or higher, would easier breach the rear of the ship. Don't know where the exhaust or electronics would be, but if knocked out, and bilge pumps on the blink. Toss in 1 or 2 other 'unexpected' things, and you may have a major problem...obviously. Only has a 4.5 meter draught, and in rough seas, that would seem a bit top heavy to me. Wrong turn on the wrong wave, an once you lose power, your at the mercy of the sea. Not a place you want to be.
  14. I was responding in reference to your earlier comment, which you followed up with your CH made car #s, which shows they are much better than non CH made cars. You state one thing, then show #s showing the opposite. "Chinese cars are still poor quality today." https://aseannow.com/topic/1280650-tesla-in-thaiand/#comment-17788548
  15. Actually worse, since I believe those complaints are more about safety items ???? https://www.iseecars.com/car-complaints-study
  16. If you're thinking an undiagnosed case of covid, then I was thinking the same, as bad taste and or loss of taste seemed to be a common effect from covid. For OP, on the multi vitamin thing, I take Kirkland, and swap off every day. Kirkland 'mature' since having lots of vit A, but no Iron & Kirkland multi, since having plenty of iron, but little of Vit A. Then rest of the nutrients are almost identical. Since both, vit a & iron, stored in fat, and I eat a fairly healthy diet, I don't want too much of either. Besides, they are simply a supplement, for the bits I may miss or not get enough of. Not to be anyone main nutrient intake.
  17. It would help, IF you learned how to or could comprehend what you are reading. Assuming you took those numbers from list below. Try reading it again ... the proper way ???? https://www.teslarati.com/tesla-model-y-china-reliability-quality-survey/ If curious how they compare to ICEs ... ... shh ... it's our secret survey found an average number of complaints per 10,000 units of 19.2 for electric vehicles vs 26.8 for ICEs
  18. ROI would be the same no matter, and based on your use vs cost of system. New, quality build, will help your PEA / solar usage, simply by using less kW, especially if you abuse the AC as we do. Better build, less usage, and have a system for that usage, so overall buy in cost of solar, will offset and better more expensive building materials. Actually I find the cost of building materials about the same or less at times, than what use to be standard. Availability has brought down the cost considerably since 20 yrs ago, if even available then. Insulated block vs cinder or red, is well worth the extra, for exterior walls. Price close enough our interior walls, few that we have, are also insulated block/K-Q-con, and whatever brand used. Insulated rolled steel roof (BlueScope) is better, stronger, cheaper than traditional roofs of 20 yrs ago. And since lighter, not as much steel needed to support it. Though do consider the extra weight of panels when designing. Saving while doing both at same time, may be possible, if using same contractor, if possible. That's a stretch though. We decided to get solar just after our build started, but not finished enough so make allowances, cut in some space for conduit and leave areas unsealed, to ease solar install. But that's about it, and really didn't make a lot of difference. Just cosmetics really.
  19. Accu is showing the PM2.5 reading IQ is showing (prominent) AQI reading, Agrees with Accu with PM2.5 reading, almost
  20. Have my own meter, and is usually in the same ball park as AirVisual/IQAir, not too far off of the other/air-quality https://www.iqair.com/th-en/ https://air-quality.com/? Windy: https://www.windy.com/-PM2-5-pm2p5?cams,pm2p5,2022121900,11.087,99.185,8
  21. Only 4 months in, so test of time is a ways off. Deye specs: https://www.deyeinverter.com/product/single-phase-string-inverter/sun7-7-5-8-9-10-10-5kg-710-5kw-single-phase-2-mppt.html Should be around for awhile, to honor warranty, 5yr: https://www.deyeinverter.com/about/
  22. "I was wondering if they are worthwhile investing in and do they provide the savings to warrant the purchase?" Depends on outlay vs usage and ROI. We went much larger than our needs, at the time. Miscalculation by myself, and not realizing how less electric the new build would use vs the energy sucking rental we had. Also an installed system, so more expensive than DIY. But very happy we did, as wife will, should outlast about 20+ years, and larger system means longer life, especially the ESSs/battery back ups. Considering our electric use, and PEA ever increasing rates, and now with EV charging, it's one of the best investments I've made in a long time. Think our ROI is going to be 7-10yrs.
  23. The seas have been brutal pass couple days, and up there with the worse I've seen since living here. Though a ship that size, really shouldn't have problems.
