Agree and will also keep the ratio of EV / CS in the EV's favor, when out & about. win win Along with a good chuckle, reading some of their silliness. -

Was 14 ish baht when I got here (2000), up to 36, then back to 16, up to 42, now at 35 ish. Electric has been consistent, 3.7 ish to now 4.2 maybe, depending on kWh used. On another forum I did a cost of living post, 2006/7/8, may look it up, to see actual #s. -

Most of the pro-EV'ers on this forum are in TH, where it is way cheaper, to operate an EV vs petrol vehicle. Buy in cost now, can be the same, or even cheaper than most, same class ICEs, so that's not a reason any more. <฿5 / kWh from home, or even ฿8 / kWh at a CS, and still cheaper, though convenience, obviously depends on your location, and patience level. If having solar, then pluses all around. Of course, EVs aren't for everyone, that's been established, and nobody disputes that. -

Operating cost, (MG ZS) using most expensive (grid), is: <฿230 @ ฿5 / kWh for 360 kms per full charge vs ฿900 @ ฿35/L for petrol version, same 360 kms True #s, as I own/owned both versions, EV/ICE -

Each CS vendor has their own app. Charge Loma app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sukhom.charge_loma&hl=en PlugShare site: https://www.plugshare.com/ If having MG, then their site: https://www.mgcars.com/th/innovation/ev/charging-station?gclid=CjwKCAjw67ajBhAVEiwA2g_jEG0RkEMX7QdWpli8XL48iPW1m8FTnvzEdPUQxgiG2n9rt4fw2OLtJxoCsGoQAvD_BwE Direct, T21/bkk to Loei, <550 kms, and may only need to top up once. Though it is 8 hr drive, so 2 stops for comfort would be my choice, at least. -

You can almost here the sound of Thailand prosper up the rung of the economic ladder. By ignoring the silly Anti RU & CH BS, that seems to benefit those pushing it ... ... IMHO -

Agree, and IMHO, all polls are deceiving, unless 'you' are asking the question. You really don't know how the questions are presented, and will garner different results, asked different ways. -

My monthly rental costs here, were about the same or less than my monthly RE Tax in the USA (Philly metro), and that's after I owned the house, free & clear. One of main reasons I live here, lack of real RE Taxes & affordable/accessible healthcare being the others. Aside from those 2, I see no real benefit (cost wise) of everyday living cost in TH. Oh yea, almost forgot, I can buy inexpensive CH EVs here, that aren't even available in USA, or at silly prices. Same with our solar system, saving 10s of 1000s of USD. -

Tough call, especially for ROI, if just for car. Depend which method charging, plug in / granny / emergency cord/charger, or Neta installed wall charger. Patience level, charging daytime (sunny, hopefully) or overnight on grid. Wall charger will need a larger system to maximize 7.4kWh. Can't see practical ROI if just for car. Plug in (emergency cord) much less needed, 2.3kW (?), and smaller solar array/cost. More qualified folks on the forum for deeper breakdown, how to, ROI, and DIY. Electric has gone up about 20%, if that, since I've been here/23 yrs. Petrol has more than doubled, from ฿14 to ฿35 ... hmm Has only gone up, with the increase of fossil fuels. -

Our EV battery is rated at IP69K ... is that good enough for TH? ... that was rhetorical ... don't bother "IP69K means a product is completely dustproof and can withstand washdown at pressures of 80 to 100 bar/1,160 to 1,450 PSI, in phases of 14 to 16 l/min, and at temperatures up to 176°F/80°C." -
Old age, or should I say older age ... sooner or hopefully later. Already pass my expiration date of 67.7 yrs. Probably, hopefully, cardiac arrest in my sleep, as everything seems to be working OK at the moment.

And yet, the Neta V comes in cheaper than all entry level Toyota & Mazda cars, so nothing to recover. I charge my EV with 'excess' solar, so no added cost to our system to charge the EV. IF paying for energy via grid, its <฿230 @ ฿5/kWh for 360 kms vs ฿900 for ICE version @ ฿35/L -

Where can I get an English translation of a Thai will form?
KhunLA replied to MrMuddle's topic in Chiang Mai
Download online will, in Thai/English. Basically a fill in the blanks. I did it a couple times and filed with Amphur. Last will, the wife simply downloaded one, and wrote one herself, using the downloaded one as a guide. All very simple actually. Or simply pay a lawyer to do it. -

Pretty much the same as Thais, but they drive SUVs & 4X4s w/Laos plates on their vehicles. Some even wear their work clothes (chefs) and empty the frozen meat section at Makro, or wheel boxes out before they even make it to the display cases. Need to pay attention to details sometimes, its not hard. As always, I rely on what I see, and my experiences, to form thoughts & opinions. When driving over to Laos, noticed a lot more traffic coming into TH. -

If you lived in Udon Thani, you'd notice many of the HiSo Lao pop over to do quite a bit of shopping. As long as they're spending, in goes into the economy. Along with a bit of medical tourism, and Udon Thani BKK Hosp, along with the highly regarded Cancer Center there. Also go to Khon Kaen excellent cardiac departments. Even the expats and HiSo Thais go down to KK for that. -
Never heard of them, let alone seen them advertised in TH. Good Luck

NO, I know I'm 100% sure, I'm correct, but you are welcome to you opinion.
