  1. Trouble, oh we got trouble, Right here in River City! With a capital "T" That rhymes with "P" And that stands for Pool, That stands for pool. We've surely got trouble! Right here in River City, Right here! Gotta figger out a way To keep the young ones moral after school! Trouble, trouble, trouble, trouble, trouble...
  2. Oh, I see. I thought it was to get everyone riled up making comments and accusations according to their biases. Information and facts is not conducive to bickering.
  3. Wife was there last week. Said the beaches were clean and quiet, no aggressive vendors, not many speedboats/jetskis. She recommends malapeung beach or suansuan beach (spellings?). For bars and pubs and nightlife, you want Pattaya.
  4. Why cut off the rest of the article?
  5. Secured the car titles and keys? What's that going to do for you? Wife's sister has a similar problem. Her mama's boy took his brother's car and delivered it to the local loan mafia until brother paid the ransom. Mother gave him a stern talking to, so he proceeded to steal his mother's car and do the same. Man, did that boy get another stern talking to! It won't end. That would require a little something called taking responsibility. In the meantime, you can expect your townhome to be rented out to Chinese tour groups on AirBnB, or used to house an illegal Taiwanese online casino. I would consider the consequences of taking naughty boy to the states where cops don't take <deleted> from entitled brats. What will you do when he learns about the easy money to be made moving fentanyl, and doesn't take your advice when you try to explain the cops won't give up when you run from them at 3am with a half pound of meth and a glock in his glovebox?
  6. Unless things have changed at CW (I did an extension there about 15 months ago), they do not require a bank statement at all for the 800k method. They only need the bank guarantee letter showing current balance, along with the updated passbook with matching balance. IO told me a guarantee letter would be valid for 7 days, but I never pressed my luck. I always went to Bangkok Bank on the lower level at 8:30 opening on the day of application to get the letter and have the clerk update my fixed account passbook. No deposit needed at Bangkok Bank. The teller can do a "balance forward" update showing current balance. That can also be done at the automatic machines, but I'd rather not chance the machine malfunctioning.
  7. Bolts? Bolts! We don' need no steeenkin' bolts! I'm sure their ground staff will be able to maintain those Boings impeccably! Transport Minister Suriya Jungroongreangkit issued a warning to Thai Airways International (THAI) following a series of complaints about subpar ground services at Suvarnabhumi International Airport. https://thethaiger.com/news/national/thai-airways-turbulence-at-suvarnabhumi-transport-minister-threatens-contract-termination
  8. There is no currency exchange. Wise USA keeps dollars in the local bank. Wise Thailand keeps baht in the local bank. The only "exchange" is where the dollars:baht conversion is calculated. Dollars go into the Wise US account from your US bank. Baht goes into your local account from the Wise Thailand account. No currency exchange, nothing actually sent to Thailand except pixels, it's just a paperwork shuffle. I assume some extra processing is required for the "long term stay" documentation, and a day for the money to reach the Wise Bangkok Bank main account, then transferred to the Wise Kasikorn account. All of it should be automatic and immediate, but it's probably set up as batch processing which slows the process.
  9. Lately has been taking about 24 hours to Bangkok Bank. Send from my credit union, wise sends email funds received around 6-7 PM, send immediately and money in bank 3-5 PM next day. Sending $1000-2000, and selecting "funds for long term stay in Thailand". Last 4 transfers have been coded as FTT.
  10. Hey! You might be in Bangkok! Take the canal boat to Asoke Pier and have your eyes examinated at Rutnin by a real doctor. They'll give you the presciption on a card. Use that to order from Zenni next time.
  11. Do you have more than one account? Best to have two accounts with online banking. Then you can log on every couple of months and move some money from one account to the other to show activity. Otherwise you could send $100 by Wise every few months.
  12. Did the shop give you an eye exam and write a prescription, or did you take your old prescription with you? If the shop did it, was it a trained profession (hah) or a random clerk? Did you get a copy of the prescription if the shop made it? Take your new glasses to another shop (or a real doctor) and have them check your new glasses and write down the prescription. Then have them give you an eye exam and write out a new prescription. Does the prescription in your new glasses match the prescription given to you by the shop that made them? Does the prescription they made agree with the one you just had done?
  13. If the mom and the kid are living with you in Chiang Mai, move their house registration. You said you gave the officers the papers, but I don't believe you said wife and kid were present.
  14. Is there any requirement that the child must live with the parent?
  15. 51% of the bar? Or his ex?
  16. Really, dude? You can't come up with 200k baht to pay off your ex? That's a measly $5,571.20 and you can't find that in the sofa cushions? Well, count me in, buddy! You're just the kinda guy I wanna go into bid'nis with! Where do I sign?
  17. Get a serious bike shop to install the engine and handle the paperwork.
  18. Mom and granny should be residing in granny's house. No rent to pay. Water will be 100 baht per month, electricity if they have AC around 1000. Mom might be selling at the market or flogging used clothing on Facebook so there should be some income. Granny raises veggies and chickens. A couple thousand for basic foodstuffs. Are the kidlets in school, and is there tuition due? 45,000 baht/month? That's a lotta lottery tickets and spa treatments and hotel stays with special brothers. Tell her you want a detailed list of monthly expenses. Then cap it at 5,000 monthly.
  19. Silly man! He could set up bank accounts for visa scammers to provide fraudulent documentation to immigration officials and get 15,000 baht for his trouble.

  21. 1. Is your account frozen? Can you log in online? Can you transfer small amounts (5 baht) between your own accounts? 2. Go to your bank branch. Find out if (and then why) your account was frozen. Unfreeze it. Get the details of the alleged 5000 baht deduction. 3. You have the bank details of the person you owe. They can not pull from your account, and you seem to be worried about a transfer. So don't transfer directly. Walk into a branch of their bank and deposit into their account. No need to link your account for a 'lectronic transfer. Then you'll have a paper deposit slip to photograph and email as proof of payment.
  22. Poutine is a dish of french fries and cheese curds topped with a brown gravy. Something I'd expect Vincent to remark on after he explained what they call a quarter pounder with cheese in Ottawa.
  23. Apparently he had insurance, totally adequate insurance. He simply chose to ignore the contract.

  25. I wouldn't worry about luxury villas sitting empty. 306,000 Beijing millionaires might want to escape the traffic congestion and cold winters. They like shrimp.
