Russia's Rapid Rearmament Sparks NATO Concerns Amid Potential Threat
GypsyT replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Oil, gas and minerals are flowing out every sec. There's 1000s of 3rd world ships going in and out daily. India etc are buying and reselling to anybody. Russia has the biggest fields in Siberia. They don't run out of money. Men, yes, but not money. Trumps sanctions is a joke! There's nothing coming in directly. But everything can be get via 3rd partners. -
Russian tourist attacked in Pattaya over livestream mix-up
GypsyT replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
She was very lucky to meet nice and kind Russian. A typical one would have helped her to earn more money by knocking out her front teeth... and then giving BJ's. -
Yes they do. AND domestic as well. - but as usual, dep on what direction wind blows....

Thailand as a Future Destination for Relocation
GypsyT replied to kevozman1's topic in General Topics
I'm in Bang Saen now to get a feel to it. Not a bad place at all! Many shops are closed thanks to Covid but new people, younger ones, are moving in and starting new businesses. There's hi end Porsche etc shops, nice big houses and older quality developments like Swedish Village (google it . impressive!). They let me in to walk the grounds and check fantastic pool area and restaurant. One nice Danish fellow even opened his home to show inside. "It's for sale", he said afterward. The price is low because "they are too old to be in Thailand", he said, and "it's too hot" for many older ones. So they are selling and moving back to home countries. The other, even bigger, reason for low prices is only true Vikings can buy! Only Swedes, Danish and Norwegians qualify. Of course there a way to all; just open a company in those 3 countries and buy under that name. I don't qualify as "Viking" and am not suitable to live there. I am not socializing type... talking bull all day at the pool. Otherwise, the best deal in Thailand so far price wise - only 70 000 Euros/75k USD for very nice 88m2 + big patio ground level home next to pool. I took a nice new hotel for a week and will walk the beach one end to other. PS. This could be a "perfect Thai home" for Hummin 🙂 PPS. They keep riff-raff out 🙂 Old posting on aseannoW; https://aseannow.com/topic/786188-are-scandinavians-racist-in-bang-saen-they-are/ -

Take a room at hotel, let them report you and ask for paper copy of it. Repeat same every time when you return. No BS, no headache. Has been OK for me past 3 years. I do same a day before Immi extensions.

Yeah - right! Mental illness has many forms... Go enjoy; https://www.yahoo.com/news/over-85-million-americans-under-165400845.html "This alert is for wind chills as low as -50 degrees. Those temperatures can cause frost bite to exposed skin in as little as 5 minutes." And they are F, not C temps. If it matters.. -
it was 14 C in Sisaket. First she was cold.... then came cold weather.... she got hot and cozy under same blanket. Thanks to Isan weather!

There are silly rules, like a simple SIM cards! They sell 8-day cards at airports. Do they really think tourists are only 8 days in Thailand! I need the SIM for 5 month. Nobody's offering it. They ask house book and/or other BS. But the biggest stupid rule is "Thai quota must be 51% on every condo building". They are 99% empty, most don't have floor and kitchen finished. Just a shell. I've checked VT7 Thai wings, they are in that shape. Pigeons are living there rent free... Can you imagine how much money is wasted! It'd be mega profits to Thailand if farands were able to buy all of them, fix them and live there. Thais don't like condo life like farangs. Paranoia is deeply rooted. I don't think anything will change during next 100 years. -
I's recommend joining this; https://www.aarp.org/ They have lot of political power and are experts to help.

It's feeling of security. You can hop in the plane and zoom to the US in 3 hours. You can do that in near any condition. -

I met Thai lady in Bangna who'd been married and lived in Stavanger, Norway. She said "The most lonely, horrible place on earth..." She left and came back alone. She had been around in Europe with husband so she knew many countries. I'd think summers are wonderful in Norway. -

Thailand is good and incredible cheap compared to Spain's Canary Islands where I spent winters before returning to LOS. Same level hotels; Gran Canary 130 Euros/140 USD night. Lousy breakfast. Here, $ 30 a night. With great breakfast! But the weather is good for me only between Oct - March. In Canary Islands year around. -

Create "Foundation" and pay money there. No need to tell anyone. -
Jomtien is part of Pattaya but nice. South end almost too quiet... "Porno Pattaya" I only visit when I walk along the beach to Central Festival once or twice a year via Big Buddha hill.

I booked MNL to BKK on KIWI,com site. At airport in Manila I was told by Cebu Pacific "KIWI didn't pay any luggage". I had paid for 20kg to KIWI. I only had 2h to clear up everything so I paid 66 USD extra in cash. Luckily Cebu Pacific girls took the money and said "We'll take care of extra fee". They didn't need to do so. They were understanding and nice! They showed me KIWI payment to them on big screen on the counter. There were no paid luggage fee. I filed complain to KIWI which was 5 pages of BS run-around nonsense. They tried to avoid refund any way possible but I got time and send copies to press etc. My old pal is Peter S Geenberg - one of most well known travel writer not only in the US but the whole world. That usually helps... so did now too. Only thing these clowns fear is bad press. 3 weeks later I only got 46 USD refund. Better than nothing. KIWI has been in news a few times during years for crooked dealings but I hoped they've learned lesson when EU has hit them hard with fines etc. Not so. They are NOT New Zealand company but Czech. "Kiwi.com is a Czech online travel agency founded by Oliver Dlouhý and Jozef Képesi in 2012." Here's more "advertising" how they operate; "Feb 14 (Reuters) - American Airlines (AAL. has settled a lawsuit accusing web platform Kiwi of being a “rogue online travel agent” that used deceptive practices to sell tickets without American’s consent. American said in a filing" https://www.reuters.com/legal/litigation/american-airlines-settles-rogue-ticketing-lawsuit-against-kiwi-2024-02-14/
