  1. Imagine this though, it wasn't so it isn't. Hope this helps.
  2. wither? ahe? stabed? This is what happens when you're in a hurry to post nonsensical supposition [insert roll-eyes emoji here]
  3. If that's true and they didn't have a new location ready to go before closing Beach Road... someone needs firing. We've already covered that, no? The hole-in-the-wall formerly known as Warehouse on Buakhao.
  4. Maybe you're not into money laundering.
  5. Nearly?
  6. I followed one of these out of Landmark parking earlier today in Udon. Lao plates, looks nice. Since they're not available locally, maybe there are issues with registering non-Chinese EV's here?
  7. As I said, I tend to not overthink these things.
  8. Well, duhhh.
  9. Think of it like selling your old car. The first item should be the age. I think this mobo first came on the market late 2019. The mobo itself varies from 3000 baht (used) to 4000 baht (new) in the US. if the OP can post a picture of the case, it could garner more interest.
  10. Odds are 7/5 for Thursday 13th July. I think that's when the 60-day, post-election game of musical chairs (is supposed to) ends.
  11. The front of The Warehouse was being knocked down today. Yes, I heard that Hooter's have leased it for their smaller, open-air venue.
  12. Did you realize the potential risks involved with partying when you were 18? I did and a hangover from five too many large bottles of Newcastle Brown was considered well worth it. A few of the older ones were into cannabis but that was back in those heady days when most people didn't need harsher chemicals for a release.
  13. Or dig around for some of the older shows, the ones from 15, 20 or more years ago. There are many gems that were missed at the time.
  14. I used to go to Hooters maybe about once a month with my buddies while in the US. I didn't overthink the experience. I've been to Hooters in Singapore maybe three or four times over the years. I didn't overthink the experience. I used to go to Hooters in either Bangkok or Pattaya with my buddies every two months or so. I didn't overthink the experience.
  15. Totally agree, but it's getting on for three months since the last report. Since one of the current threads on the Savannakhet MENO has already been closed, I thought it's worth keeping tabs and keep this thread 'fresh', just in case.
  16. A mutual acquaintance, admittedly not the sharpest tool in the box, claims he was denied a MENO (Thai spouse) at Savannakhet on 22 May. He was given all the relevant advice and the list of required documents but went off half-cock or, as he admits, didn't pay attention and traveled on a Monday without certain documents including the Marriage Certificate. However, he was making much of being unable to open a Thai account and furnish proof of funds. Now, we ALL know that for as long as we can remember and as recently as March, proof of finances have never been required at Savannakhet. The visa information on their website, updated on 22 April 2023, still doesn't include proof of financials but does say "Consular officers reserve the rights to request additional documents as deemed necessary.they may ask for other documents as they see fit." I would like to think that my nice but dim acquaintance has it totally wrong and he was turned away on the Consulate's busiest day ONLY because he didn't have the correct documents and they still don't need proof any financial information. Looking forward to an updated report to confirm that this is still the case as we live in interesting times.

    an awful day

I can't believe you felt the urge to Google fact-check that. And then got it so terribly, terribly wrong. Fact is that Asian water buffalo weigh from 700 to 1,200 kg. https://www.altinawildlife.com/asian-water-buffalo-2/
  18. How 'ancient' precisely? I'm 66 and consider that to be ancient.
  19. I see more member's citing the illegality of using an agent and claiming that those that do somehow "make it worse" for their law-abiding souls.
  20. Why leave $23k sitting in a Thai account when I can fly myself and the girlfriend to Vegas with a Caribbean stopover on the way back.
  21. I thought a land border arrival earned you a 15-day visa exempt entry while airport arrival will get the 30-day version.
  22. Since there's no new visa in your passport, Mukdahan immigration will probably give you 14-day visa-exempt entry but they may ask questions about your onward travel plans. I haven't heard of people being denied entry there and sent back to Savannakhet to work out another way home (I believe that one of the Thai immigration offices on the Cambodian border has done this). Maybe prepare yourself with one of those cheap 'disposable' onward flight bookings available online, just in case? Some Consulates will write a comment on your new visa saying as much as the Savannakhet chap said in that you have too many entries. Consider that a bonus and prepare for leaving Thailand for a spell.
  23. How would you be voting on Australia's planned 'Voice' referendum then? If you could I mean.
  24. Did the Savannakhet consulate give a reason why they wouldn't give you a SETV? Their published requirements are as follows. Required Documents Visa application form [Download] completely filled out and signed by the applicant Original and a copy of passport (must not expire within 180 days and contain at least two complete empty visa pages) Two (2) photos of the applicant (3.5 x 4.5 cm, taken within 6 months) Visa Fee: Single Entry (1,000 Baht) or Multiple Entries (5,000 Baht) Travel itinerary to and from Thailand and accommodation e.g. plane/train/bus ticket, hotel booking, letter from whom you will be staying with and a signed copy of his/her ID Evidence of adequate finance - Single-Entry Tourist Visa: 3-month financial statements with an average balance of 20,000 baht per person or 40,000 baht per family - Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa: 6-month financial statements 200,000 baht per person Proof of permanent residence in Lao PDR (For Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa applicant)
  25. Do you mean entering the Thailand without setv? Simple enough question, can you?
