  1. Must have been the pot noodles then, no?
  2. Or, like the son of a foreign bar owner who died intestate, he could go on to become chief pilot for an offshore helicopter company, or, closer to (my) home, the wife's nephew who is now a semi-professional football player. Both were unspectacular underperformers in school and barely scraped through their "5-star" Thai tertiary education.
  3. Renew the passport ASAP (like yesterday), that's important. Do it online within the days you are allowed to do so. If it gets rejected due to the <90 day thing you mention (unlikely), that's unimportant.
  4. Now, all you malcontents squatting in moobahns and bahn nawk, whining about how s**t your home has become, register to vote, vote Reform and let's get shot of the bloody Tories.
  5. Maybe you should try reading and comprehending the article in the OP? FWIW, India also 'pools' their consular presence and resources across different countries in the same region. Hope this helps.
  6. If the bogus RAM passes the physical tests, what's the issue? No sticker? And what's wrong with saying Shopee and Lazada? OK, got my kevlar on. Go ahead.
  7. May as well try and create a new account with the old username? Maybe the old TV username hasn't been migrated, so doesn't exist as far as AN is concerned? Would seem a lot quicker than trying to find a plug that's fallen out of the back. I doubt any old messages or threads will be awaiting rediscovery.
  8. But you get used to it. Believe me, I know.
  9. Exactly. When America s**ts the bed, the world has to lie in it. At least we know Sleepy Joe wears them big boy Pampers.
  10. I don't think there's a vacancy for Scottish leadership at the moment.
  11. KInda like the Baltimore Ravens being the perpetual hot pick for the Super Bowl where in reality, the Dirty Birds QB has only ever won 1 playoff game?
  12. every single country ? Yeah. How about Isaan?
  13. The only hoses that have experienced blowing out are the braided ones from the half-inch water risers under the kitchen and bathroom sinks to the taps. This was in a rental house that was maybe 7 or 8 years old. A couple blew out within a few weeks of each other, so I replaced the lot, including the feeds to the toilet cisterns. The Thai landlord agreed they were probably a cheap batch used by the builder during construction and reimbursed me. Never seen any appliance feed hoses blow out though.
  14. The same reason the merger of Spirit and JetBlue in the US has been knocked back by Federal regulators. They cited that customers that currently benefit from Spirit's unique low-cost structuring will lose out.
  15. Good info. As global air travel consolidates and builds, maybe they'll keep this one running year-round this time?
  16. Not confusing at all. The OP is asking if a conversion specifically to RetExt can be done after the visa itself has expired, but he is still in-country legally on the 90-day entry afforded just before the visa expired. If there was a financial issue, the OP will have mentioned it but by already establishing contact with a Pattaya agent, it looks like that's already being addressed. If the OP wanted a Marriage Extension, he wouldn't have created a thread specifically named Converting Multi-Entry Non-O (Savannakhet) to a Retirement Extension. Perhaps the OP doesn't want all the pedantic, bureaucratic overkill, including the wait period that the "budget" Marrriage Extension brings to the table?
  17. Because by pleading guilty, the 50% commutation of any sentence is automatic. There's no option for "leaving it" at the original levy unless there is no guilty plea.
  18. Excellent. Here's hoping they do keep the flights going for the whole year as the global air travel market gets back in stride. The add-ons are passenger service charges, airport fees, security charges, taxes (from both ends) plus, plus. It's a pretty standard but unique set of add-ons depending on the origin and destination. Always been that way. I am on a very low bandwidth satellite connection so can't get the airfare breakdown, but if you check out matrix.itasoftware.com/search and type in your PER-BKK flights and select the TG flight, that should throw up a page that gives a precise breakdown of the airfare being quoted. Matrix isn't a booking website, but it's very good for finding flights and checking airfares.
  19. If I had a winning Thai lottery ticket for each time read or hear on these hallowed pages about foreign squatters standing up for their principles...
  20. Irony...dripping with
  21. My experience with TG non-stop services BKK-PER in 2022/23 was they get expensive and overbooked fast, even Business Class. Also, it was seasonal service, so if that's still the case, maybe not available for most of the year.
  22. A bit strange, but maybe just give them details of the flight(s) he took from the UK to the US, as well as the flight itinerary from the US to Thailand. The fact that he's a UK national living/working in the US may be lost on the pedants at the MFA processing the visa.
  23. It's OK. I have lived and worked in Vietnam too. My post was tongue-in-cheek viz the recent events here in Thailand.
  24. My ex-wife was Laotian. Not the best by any means, but certainly right up there with them.
