  1. They do have virtual mailboxes in most countries that forward mail. May be easier to have them shipped there then just have the mail forwarded to you. Everything is repackaged for delivery.
  2. did the doctor fit you with a specific contact lens brand or just give you a numbered prescription? be careful ordering a lot at once if you were not fitted. i think the lenses differ by brand. you have the rx numbers but may need to try several brands until you get one that fits correctly. as the doctor for the letter directly and personally.
  3. i could care less about the traffic. it's the lack of sidewalks that bothers me. never figured out who people need to drive everywhere here. get off the baht bus on the nearby main streets and walk. burn off some calories. they could even just ban parking on the street certain hours which would create a lot of space. much of the roadway is blocked by scooters parked on both sides of the street. that's doable in thailand, no parking signs and ticket sweeps. ticket sweep at 8pm, people come back, but it's much less, and the vehicles that just sit there are gone. it also moves those scooters out of the way for pedestrians (we need to walk around those now towards traffic).
  4. if you can't walk bukcow you have mobility issues. not worth it to have baht busses blocking the street for the few elderly or disabled people who need it.
  5. how do you have relationships here when people can't speak your language? the more i think about it the crazier it seems.
  6. The street is a @hitshow in the evenings. They should shut down the street starting at 8:00pm and just make it a walking street. People speeding and nowhere to walk. Very dangerous.
  7. 🤔 Huh, thought a porcelain fused to noble metal crown had a gold base, so a noble metal crown would be all gold. Are you saying it's a three layer, base metal, then gold, then porcelain?
  8. If you never get hit with insults, even the smallest stone breaks you. People from other countries have been teased and bullied all through elementary, junior high & high school. We are tough as nails. It's like going to war for years and coming out a hardened veteran.
  9. How is there a win by bombing the general population? The whole area could be damaged and the opponent, who may not care about civilian deaths or infrastructure, is still in a tunnel somewhere. Strike teams and covert ops are the way to go for any kind of result. Plus, that leaves out the civilians for the most part.
  10. i might try mexico again just because it's easy for a us citizen.
  11. hate to say it but it's possible they don't want to make foreign food correctly. seems like the pride is in thai things only (especially food), but depends on where you go i guess. can you see a thai place or cook really WANTING to make english breakfasts great?
  12. I ordered some from a french place. i thought is was hard boiled eggs like you would get with an easter egg in the usa. instead they eat them soft boiled, almost a liquid. 😙
  13. i usually get the thai omlette, that ensures it's cooked enough. never hard boiled eggs or fried eggs, they are usually too runny. fitzgerald's is one of the few places in that area i could get a decent beer that was not flat. visit bangcock.
  14. Doing bangkok.
  15. Your not really going native, your pretending to be skint. Thai's with flip flops would gladly buy new sneakers if they could afford some.
  16. i think a lot of guys are just kind of loafing around. maybe sitting in bars or doing the street corner thing near their condo or sitting at bars or the beach. not really walking long distances or traveling. i like really getting out there and walking around town. going places where i could not hobble home on one flip flop if i had too.
  17. I'm just the opposite. Wore sandals for years, then changed to real shoes. I even wear high tops now in Thailand. I'm much more comfortable with a protective shoe. Can jump curbs, go over anything and no woorries about dogs, rats etc or getting dirty feet walking around town.
  18. can you be more specific as to why you don't like the area? is it venues thst have changed, or the people around there? what do you miss from the past that's no longer there?
  19. No, i did not miss the point. Go read the golf forum and read all the bashers there.
  20. People are reporting on what they think. Don't agree or like it? Too bad.
