  1. Yep, that’s weird. They are always in those closed traffic booths. I never see them actively patrolling. It’s like they only respond and are not proactive.
  2. Brilliant video. Defaced (I mean defamation ????????‍♂️).
  3. Just dropping two quick tips: 1. Always walk on the side of the road facing oncoming traffic, not with your back to oncoming traffic. You can jump out of the way if a vehicle is headed straight towards you. *Many drunks will veer into the emergency lane and you can see them coming. 2. When your walking and passing other pedestrians, the person with their back to oncoming traffic passes on the outside (towards the curb) and you pass (when it’s safe) on the inside (towards the street). You can see vehicles coming, they can’t. I’m surprised how many people don’t get this simple concept even on sketchy narrow roads.
  4. I wonder if immigration can refuse exit from the country if back taxes were not paid? They do that in the USA in exceptional cases, the IRS invalidates your passport so you can’t leave.
  5. Try earplugs. If they don’t have a written English menu it’s a no-go anyway ????.
  6. Could be the reason you’re fat. Start working out and stop eating so much sugar.
  7. No a/c would be an emergency for most people these days!
  8. The female io may take you into the interrogation room.
  9. You will when you get older. Aches & pains and just lack of energy.
  10. There’s also not much around there. You have a big major street in front, only a few eateries & not many markets. You could walk easily to the beach and eat down there or at the Jomtein night market, but it would get repetitive if done every day long term (they sell the same food every night). There’s another outdoor market down the road near immigration but it’s probably too far to walk with a bunch of groceries, (especially during the daytime in the heat) and too far to walk to the eateries there every time you need a meal. You would probably need a motorbike unless you’re a serious walker and you can’t carry much on a motorbike. Best thing to do would be to walk to the beach and catch the baht bus up and down. It’s doable, but it’s not like living in a central area, it’s kind of a trek doing it every day. Thats why I chose to live in center. It’s not worth it to go that far for necessities on a daily basis long term unless you had a car.
  11. Is it legal to have a Lao woman stay overnight in Laos with a foreigner, or is that only for hotels?
  12. Can you give detail and exact location of the robbery? Was it a mugging?
  13. Can you bounce in & out on the 90 day all year, or do they limit you? I could bounce into Cambodia or Thailand every 90 days. I guess like everything else it’s hard to know and it keeps changing.
  14. Possible to do Cambodia half time and new Vietnam 90 day other half of the year?? I did not think cambodia and Vietnam were really “dangerous” but you need some street smarts and not be a total goofball. i ruled out Malaysia, what was it you need a million or so, I don’t remember. Loas is too weird for me and would not be comfortable living there long term, although the people were friendly. Burma is out, don’t want to get shot in the head. Theres also Guam, us citizens can stay forever, no visa. I just checked it, rents are high, about the same as the USA. Nice island, beaches and clean water.
  15. Not sure what you’re banging on about. The country is full of potholes and sinkholes.
  16. Are you in a hurry? ???? I hate rushing.
  17. Learn to sit in a dark room by yourself for 24 hrs. Learn to be alone without distractions. ????
  18. If it includes coming onto the Op’s property, yes.
  19. They are afraid of being alone. That’s why they need noise. Mornings are very quiet.
  20. I used to walk by there all the time and I did not think it looked flashy at all. In fact, it looked quite depressing.
  21. Used to happen to me all the time. I got ear plugs at the local Thailand pharmacy. The waterproof wax kind that mold in to your ear. 75 baht. You can get them on Lazada also. They don’t fall out. I also blow dry my ears after swimming, pulling down on the ear lobe to dry the inner ear. Hold it a foot or two away on lowest heat setting. You can get a cheap blow dryer on Lazada for 80 baht. No problems since. I attribute it primarily to the blow drying.
  22. Have you not ever seen porn?
