My problem with that is I can't really just ignore the locals. I live in a city condo and need to go out everyday and interact for life necessities and to live life. i'm not exactly pestering local thai's for friendship or whatever. It did work much better when i had that villa in chiang mai where i was much happier. it was gated and i felt much more relaxed and happy there. like you said, more just an escapism living situation. maybe that's my answer. go back to the more isolated living situation like before. seems now like i'd rather be bored sometimes there, then irritated like i am now.

It's staff trying to make it look like it's busy 😅 Standing out in front, playing loud music, etc. They all crowd around down there and look rushed and busy, but there is no money coming in. Just like the motorbike guys who stand in groups at the corner. If you actively watch, very few people are actually getting rides. It just looks busy because they are calling out to people and you are distracted by people driving erratically and the traffic noise.

Dealing with Bs has a cumulative effect. You may be older but that just means it's built up more, not because you are changing your views.

i think that's true. a lot of the irritation i get is from people acting kind of dumb or not "getting it". sometimes it's so dumb that i think they are acting that way to irritate me or as some sort of passive-aggressive behavior, which makes things worse and irritates me even more. i'm getting much better at just walking away and laughing it off, but when it happens all the time it's annoying.

i would be suspicious of the person who is relaying the numbers, or maybe they leave the card or the photos sitting around carelessly and visitors or a household member gets it. a truly hacked number by a stranger is very rare. i have never had it happen to me personally.
