I stayed at one near Dongtan beach where you had to stop at a gated booth each time. The guard had to raise a large gate each time going in or out. What a hassle that was. Every time I left for a meal we had to go through the whole routine. Felt like living in a prison or military facility where they check ID each time. I guess eventually they just recognize you or the car 🤷🏻‍♂️. I think some people like it though, makes them feel safer.

They are watching everyone, not just me. I don't care why they are watching, they are just watching. I need to go in and out several times a day and it's weird having the eye contact each time. The lady will be staring right at me each time I get out of the elevator, or the security guy will be eyeballing me everytime I return home. It feels weird. I don't do the 'hello' thing because I'm in and out so much and it would be overkill to do it constantly.

Does anyone know of a condo or apartment building in Pattaya that does not have the door staff or security? My place has someone in the office all day facing the lobby and also security right at the door all night. They eyeball everyone coming or going. I used to work in an institutional setting so that's probably why it bothers me. I'm thinking of getting a townhouse or house, but wanted to know if there were any condo's around like what I'm looking for. In the Usa I had one with a seperate enterance for residents, so that would work as well.

There are some Jehovas Witnesses outside the big c on pattaya klang occassionally. They were thai and looked like they spoke english. They usually have a reading room in town somewhere.

How is it there? Have heard bad reports. I stayed there at an Airbnb several years ago but not since then.

Why would you go to a pickup type bar to watch what other men are doing? If you are doing that regularly for some strange unknown reason, definately don't nag or bother other men while you're there. Makes no sense.

There are a lot of guys that just sit in their rooms most of the time around Jomtein, or they sit around the bar near their condo. Usually much older guys.

3 months is nothing. I can eat at the cafe down there and be happy for 3 months. I'm talking about people that are living around there for a year or more.

That was my problem at VT2B as well with no motorbike. The only reasonable market around there is that pricey foodmart, more for just special items imo. Some people don't understand walking in the heat for some reason, they just look on the map and think it's an easy walk or think you can take shortcuts over on side streets, etc. You can't typically do those kind of shortcuts in thailand as they are blocked or have a lot of dogs, etc. As for the baht bus, it rarely or ever goes down that street towards lotus.

I'm getting a bit of that as well where I am, but since my lease is up soon it's not really my problem as long as it does not collapse. I think it's water damage related.
